This time,…read moreour water heater thermostat failed so no hot water from Xmas on...so Monday 12/29 I make some calls to companies specializing on water heater replacement. I won't name their name but after fast inital reponse - nada. So I called my goto plumbers. We went out and bought a replacement water heater from Ferguson (check out my review for them - awesome). My wife and I dollied and manipulated all 137lbs of that bad boy into the garage. Edgar was my tech from Magnificent (He thought it was a "check" vs. "replace"). This could have been a disaster because we are now at New Year's Eve. They typically only do commercial water heater replacement but calls his boss, gets the gren light and because we are loyal customers, discounts the service cost. He tells me he can do it, calls to re-arrange some family plans and just makes it happen! At the end, he noticed a pipe with some carbon monoxide venting which he also fixed. We've used them on several different occasions and it's ALWAYS 5+ stars.

We had gone through Home Depot, and they sub-contract to URV Projects - but they were so quick and had good reviews so I thought that I would also put in a good word for them too. I appreciate that Roman could install so quickly and get it done in an efficient manner. He ever checked the water pressure and adjusted the aerator to make sure that it was maximized. I had also asked him around an estimate around some valve work, which they provided in a couple days. Definitely seems like they provide a great service, and seem fair. Will probably use them again independently when I need plumbing services!

We then called Better Home, and they came by quickly to take a look and mentioned some stuff about our water heater, and we decided to get a new one since it was already 15 years old. In regards to the price, it was what it was, but I looked up the water heater and it wasn't a super crazy markup to what they charged us plus labor, so I'm not complaining.

Yaro responded to my quote request on Yelp and provided a quote based off my photo. He had a window available within the next hr and was able to identify and seal the earthquake valve elbow part better. I am thankful for his speedy repair and PG&E was able to come back same day to turn the gas back on. Yaro's rate was competitive and has a 1 year labor warranty. There was an error date on the receipt so I'm just waiting for the revised receipt with the correct date. Other than that, I'm so glad to find him and would call him back for any plumbing issues.

We evaluated around 6-7 companies, and off the recommendation of a neighbor we had Letts come out. I was a bit hesitant because you are charged for a minimum of an hour, there is no free estimate. However, in that time he shored up a leak with a temporary patch and had an estimate of how much work it would be to take care of everything, which ended up being much more reasonable than some other places we evaluated. Adam came back when he had enough open schedule to fix everything and some parts were shipped in. An incredibly nice guy, and just an incredibly fair and integrity oriented operation. All the vendors I evaluated were five stars with many reviews, but Letts was the only one that didn't feel like I was being upsold and he was just out there to help me solve my problems. Honestly can't wait to hire them again, which is an absurd thing to say about a plumber, but man what a great experience. I will rave about them to anyone who will listen.

They most recently removed an old water softener and installed new copper piping where the softener connections were. Oddly, the tech charged us for new copper while keeping the copper sections he removed, saying he was adding it to their collection. I get not being able to reuse the sections connected to the old valves but there was some that could have been reused, or left for our recycling. Not a huge deal, just seemed odd that he mentioned keeping it for their future use. We'll still use Letts and recommend them to friends. They're very prompt. The work is done well. And the job sites are left clean.

Excellent work. We've had them in for three projects: a laundry box, water heater replacement, and…read morerepiping. The laundry box project convinced us that they did quality work. The water heater project was more expensive than we'd expected, but that was because they insisted on doing things to code; they said that if we didn't want to do things to code, we'd have to use someone else. We didn't bother to get alternate bids on the repiping because we knew their work is solid. Jason, the owner, prepared a very detailed bid. We had a number of questions, and he was very good about answering them. The repiping itself took about four days. The work was far less intrusive than we'd initially expected. They replaced our old steel piping, which was giving us a lot of problems, with copper. During the work we questioned why they were putting in single-handle shower valves when we'd had two-handled valves before, and they gave cogent reasons for doing so. Alligator said that their rates are about average, and we believe them. Perhaps we could have gotten the repiping done by another company at a lower cost. But we'd rather contract with people who have already done good work for us and whose work we trust. We've always believed that the most cost-effective option is to go for quality, and Alligator certainly delivered in that regard. Highly recommended!

Our home was struggling with very unstable temperature of water flow in all of our showers for…read morealmost 2 weeks. The water was getting colder. Finding the right plumber could be difficult especially when some companies want to charge a diagnosis fee right away. So I had to research more carefully when deciding which plumbing companies to ask. My neighbor had the same issue and recommended Vincent of VIP Plumbing. His company offered free quotes. We spoke on Sunday and he was able to fit me in his schedule the next day. He txted me within the 2 hr window he gave me and arrived before the window ended. Vince immediately knew what the issue was beyond the faulty check valve, he identified that my thermal expansion tank was also broken. He had both parts in his truck so I didn't have to wait for him to come back another day. I also asked him to service our water heater since we never had any official services before. He took about an hr for everything. Left the area clean & tidy before departure. Now we have our hot water back and functioning. I will contact him again for future services. He definitely knows Rinnai tankless water heaters. What a lifesaver! Thanks again. His pricing is comparable to other plumbers with Rinnai expertise claims.
