I recently made a purchase for an instore pickup with a gift card that I received as a Christmas Gift. When arriving at the store to pick up my item, it was not available and the item was cancelled. When I asked how my gift card would be credited they told me it wouldn't be charged. When I returned home, the gift card balance was zero. I have spent a few hours online, a few hours in store and to date I am still waiting for my original gift card to be returned to me along with a small balance that was to go back on my credit card. I would not recommend using a gift card to purchase anything online. They have no idea how to resolve these types of issues and we are months into this with no resolution. read more

This store is so beautiful, especially at Christmas! It's downstairs in the mall, closer to the Nordstrom end of the mall. It's fully stocked, bright and gorgeous. They have a large selection of specialty foods and coffees and candies. Their dishware is the best for a special holiday touch. The coffee maker selection is second to none! Any kind of coffee maker you might want to check out. They have gadgets galore too. Great shopping for the chef on your list. I love to buy their soap/candle sets for the perfect holiday scent in my home. Unique items that are not sold at other home stores too. The employees are helpful and efficient. Was looking for a Christmas gift for Mother's Day, asked the associate if they had any plates or dining sets from Portugal. She was super friendly and very helpful. She had dark blackish hair wore a black William Sonoma tshirt I think in a pony tail, an apron I think worked on the back or on the floor but she was very polite very helpful feel awful I couldn't get her name but she is super friendly and helpful and would recommend 11/10 great customer service. First went in to browse. No hello, no happy holidays, no welcoming. On top of that smiles were lacking. I eventually asked for help in cookware. The man behind the counter looking for something to do is who I asked. He did not respond at first, starting walking and sorta pointing. I felt unwanted. I was looking for a top end cookware set and useful and meaningful advice. "This is the best!" is about what I received. No reasons for it being so. How it compares, nothing except, "I will let you ponder" and he left. Plenty of employees in store and a few customers. I have spent thousands between Pottery Barn, West Elm and Williams-Sonoma, but no more. They are getting as snooty as Restoration Hardware (which might actually be part of their group). It's definitely the season for specialty food! So listen closely boys and girls. If you order online in the next few hours you can have the most wonderful, flakey, buttery croissants delivered to your home for Christmas morning! This is the third year I have gone online and ordered the Williams-Sonoma Galaxy croissants for the holidays. They come in a variety of sizes, types and amounts. They have mini croissants too, plain or filled with chocolate. The larger croissants, again, are chocolate filled or not. Or a variety of both. They are delivered directly to your doorstep packed in dry ice. Upon arrival they must go into the freezer immediately. When you are ready for the most delicious treat ever... simply take out as many as you want the night before you wish to bake them. While you are sleeping and dreaming of sugar plums:), they will rise. Do make sure you have parchment paper available on which to bake them. It is that easy! It is my favorite holiday treat. And I have started sending them as gifts also. So easy to go online and have them mailed to my favorite peeps. Oh and I never forget Santa! A freshly baked croissant is left out on Christmas Eve just for him! There is never a crumb left:). Merry, merry! read more

Weirdest experience there tonight! We are still baffled. We went in looking for a specific espresso machine. I'd spent weeks doing my research & knew exactly what I wanted. The sales lady was super nice, told us she didn't have it in stock but we could order it. I really wanted it asap, so we walked over to Crate & Barrel but they didn't have it & don't carry it at all. So we went back to Williams-Sonoma to order it & somehow this other sales lady who was super pushy & rude got involved. She was all riled up because we picked out the machine we liked, not the one she liked! She was literally acting like it was for her or something! We insisted that we knew what we wanted & were ready to place the order. She then started talking crap about the machine I wanted to buy until we literally walked out of the store. Really great sales person to take someone asking to order a $1100 espresso machine & chase them out the door, lol. We were so baffled! This lady is off her rocker! We ordered it online directly from Philips, but unfortunately it was a special night for us (we were celebrating my graduation & the espresso machine a gift from my husband) and she totally ruined our night!! : ( Edit: My husband was trying to place the order while I was leaving this review last night & it turns out you can't order it directly yet! I purchased a cookware set November 4 with a scheduled delivery date of December 4. I received notification it would be delayed until around 12/30. I contacted Williams Sonoma at the Galleria on Saturday (where I purchased the set) to see if there was anything I could do. Michael, the manager, spent a lot of time with me on the phone; told me they could build my set as they had most of the pieces in stock and could get the additional pieces from their store in Sacramento. He was so helpful and told me he would call me back that day. I have heard nothing since. Needless to day I was extremely disappointed in the follow through. The service sure looks like it sucks big time here with all the awful 1 star for service reviews. Yeah, mostly this store carries kitchen gadgets priced for people that have to much money and don't mind buying some over priced gizmo that they'll use just once and then toss in kitchen cabinet. I did find something that I wanted to try and that was flavorings for popcorn. I love the ease of microwave popcorn, but the flavor need some punch, and William Sonoma had movie theater flavor as well as kettle corn flavor. I decided just to order online cause they had all the flavors available, and the store might not. OK, they come slow shipping, compared to Amazon! But what pissed me off is the stupid people that they have working at the shipping center don't have the mental assets to pack things in boxes properly. My package arrived, via USPS, tossed on the edge of the porch by the street in the fuckin rain, when walking 5 more feet would have put it at my god damn door! Sorry, that's a hit on the Postal Service. But upon opening by box, the 3 metal containers weren't even packed with any packing material! The containers were just tossed about in this box from being shipped half way across the country! The decorative containers were dented, and this could have been avoided if these shipping people had any sense and weren't so lazy to just put no packing material in the box! I saw a 20 peice of silverware for $215.99 I wanted to purchase from the store. Then decided I wanted two 20 peice sets totalling $430. One employee was very helpful, she found the exact silverware I wanted. However at the register they instead of charging me the price for two sets they were charging the price for 8 of each set individually which is $490. I called the manager out and showed her exactly where I found them then she said they don't carry the 20 peice in store but online.Manager was very resistant of even checking for the price! Sorry but no thank you I refuse to pay for your bonus. And guess what, I went to crate&barrel and I bought a similar set from the same brand they pulled out 8 sets and charged me the 20 peice set price and employee said it's how it works. This place is absolutely wonderful! I went there a couple times over the past few days, and the customer service was so incredible that I had to write this review as soon as I could. One of the best shopping experiences I've ever had, not because of the products but because of the amazing staff. They were really helpful in all aspects of the shopping, from trying to help me find the product in store to helping me navigate the online shopping process when the product couldn't be located. They were very patient with me, as I'm a bit new to the online shopping process. They explained everything they were doing clearly to ensure I knew what was happening, and I felt very comfortable with the whole thing overall. When I went to pick the item up a couple days later (it was a to-store delivery), they recognized me and immediately got the item from the back. I was so happy with the way I was treated and helped, and with how kind and patient the staff was even during a busy day. Thank you so much for the experience! read more

It is a fairly large store and that's great. Someone had some onions being sauteed at the entrance to the store which wafted out in to the mall. Smelled great to me, but I could see how that could offend some noses. Decent sized place, but better instances of this store exist. I did purchase a few items here, but if I need to return them I'll go elsewhere. They'd presumably be the same price at all other locations. read more

Called and talked to Tom on the phone. Asked specifically if there was a Darth Vader Instapot in stock. He told me that yes there was. I asked if there was just one left or were there more. He told me that they had a lot in stock. When my husband drove from Carmichael to Roseville Galleria to get it, he was told that they never had any in stock. Tom himself told him that I had asked for Star Wars and not Darth Vader specifically. Problem was that my husband was in the car with me when I called and asked. Tom continued to argue that my husband was wrong. Why lie? Why not just a say you misheard? Why insist that you are right? What about the customer? We will never return to this store. Went in to purchase a Staub Cocotte however they did not have the color I wanted, the sales associate was very nice and helped me order one online. Five days later the cocotte arrived and was damaged, WS customer service sent out a replacement. When the replacement arrived it too was damaged and it was obvious it had been returned to WS damaged. While customer service offered a third replacement, it seemed ridiculous to try for third time when it was so apparent they were trying to get me to accept damaged goods. This reminds me of another review I read here where someone bought a coffee machine which was missing all the sample packs. Seems that when you buy product from them you have a high likelihood of buying someone else's problem. Try searching for reviews on WS. BBB has over 900 complaints and Glassdoor has a bunch of reviews from employees who trash their own company. Take a look at Yelp, it does not appear WS has made an effort to address all the negative comments. I returned the damaged Cocotte and have purchased a replacement from one of their competitors. When I use to live in Roseville (long story and kudos to Rick H, I am NOT an owner of a lifted truck) among the still pretty Whiteyville aspect of Roseville/Rocklin, I did float around at the local Galleria when I found the need to purchase shoes at Nordstroms or a monthly update to my work wardrobe. I found myself quite often drifting into the local Williams-Sonoma in this pretty large mall, not sure if it was the smart and shiny metallic surfaces of their Calphalon pots or the come-hither glass jars embracing wonderful salsas and piquant bbq sauces calling me, luring me. Need a cherry pitter? Came here and found one for around $8.00. Where to find the perfect gadget for delivering fine curled shavings of truffles? Its here, the truffle shaver, for around $15.00. I use to pan toast my sesame seeds to enhance the nutty flavor of the seeds, but now, I use the Sesame Seed & Spice Toaster, price tag $14.00. In addition to a large assortment of unique kitchen tools, I was able to expound upon my current bakeware, with stainless steel cookie sheets for around $22.00 each and non-stick cooling racks for $10.00. I already have a Kitchen Aid mixer, but I still purr for their stainless steel mixer. What I'd like to add next to my drawers of prized accoutrements, is the Kyocera Ceramic Kitchen Slicers. Amazing. Ceramic blades that don't need sharpening and they don't rust for the life of the product. I already have a Japanese Ceramic kitchen knife and it is exquisite. The edge is sharp and has yet to be sharpened. The precision edge and accurate measures delivers an even slice to apples, cucumbers, squash, and more. Talk about a salad masterpiece put together with Monet-esque beauty. Williams-Sonoma is my equivalent of a visit to Good Vibrations. I tend to return, over and over again, despite the higher costs. She worked there and eventually asked if i needed assistance but the entire time I was on the phone talking to someone about the gifts. At the risk of sounding a little bit like I have no life at all... THIS IS MY HAPPY PLACE. I could spend hours wandering around this store browsing the stuff here, much to my wife's frustration. It's a great place to pick up odd little things for the kitchen and home. I probably wouldn't shop here for appliances or full sets of dinnerware but it's certainly not the worst place to grab some cute little things for the home. I was able to find some small wooden spoons and bowls for just a few $. Item I ordered, bar towels, have been back ordered twice. There availability is not worth your time ordering from them. I was thinking about ordering a stove from them, but if they can't deliver a simple bar towel, and they have to place bar towels on back order, then this is an omen NOT to buy or order from Williams-Sonoma. Confession: Kitchen supply stores are my shoe stores. Yes. I'd rather have a cupboard full of Le Creuset than a closet full of Louboutons. Cast iron trumps red bottoms all day. Yes, I said it. Back to the store now. I came here recently to register for my upcoming wedding (Look for Jackie Fernandez/Randy Gonzalez :P). Williams-Sonoma is candy land to the kitchen goddesses and kitchen novice alike. Pretty much anything you'd ever want in the kitchen you'll find it here. My favorite things to drool over is the selection of French cast iron. OMG. Le Creuset as far as the eye can see. I love how they have different colors and styles displayed. Besides that, they other high-end cookware. Don't expect anything cheaply made here! Bakeware, they have plenty to choose from. Madeline pans, popover pans, and beautiful bundt pans. Oh yes..... The customer service is great here. Apparently, they'll even show you how cookware works on the in-store stove. Registering can be overwhelming, but they're more than happy to assist if you need it (I didn't....besides the occasional item that wouldn't scan). I can wait to see what y'all buy me!!! read more

See, my problem is when I get depressed, I shop. But I shop dishes and serveware. On top of that my BF has a fetish for all sorts of cooking and prepping appliances. Between the two of us we probably have the entire stock of a small cookware store crammed into the cabinets and stuffed between the shelves of our kitchen. And then of course I had to find myself in a downer mood and come across this place. As a chain famous for their specialty cook and serveware, they are the convenient place to go for all sorts of things from specialty salts, sugars, premade gourmet bundt cake mixes, Ad-Hoc fried chicken kit, silpats, OXO pop containers, Emile Henry handmade ceramic baking dishes that cook pies like you wouldn't believe, heavy duty bakeware, and upper end cooking appliances and knives. Located at the Roseville Galleria, this location is nicely stocked with a little bit of everything, although nowhere near the San Francisco flagship. It took awhile of looking forlorn before they come to assist but then again, it's holiday season. There was a line for the check-out counter but staff were still friendly and happy to help me out without making me feel rushed. If you have a foodie friend and want to give the perfect gift, they'd be happy with just about anything from this place (WINK WINK NUDGE NUDGE). In the end I came out with two huge shopping bags and yet another dent in my credit card. I need to join a WS Anonymous group. read more

Purchased the kitchen island back in June, 3 months has passed has not been delivered. They called twice to schedule the delivery but one day before the delivery date they will call and cancel saying, the other piece is missing or they say something wrong with the product!! This place is terrible!!! I should've read the Yelp reviews prior to coming to this store. Prior to my visit, I called the to see if they had a specific Nespresso machine available which they did. I also specifically asked if the 20%off would apply to my purchase and was told yes. I don't live close by so I called ahead to confirm so I know I wouldn't waste my time. I get there, found what I was looking for then head to the checkout line. The girl who was helping at the register wasn't very pleasant right away. Upon scanning the item she makes a funny face and looks confused. I was wondering what was wrong but she stood there unresponsive for quite some time. Finally she decided to let me know that the 20% discount doesn't apply to the item that I had. I was a little confused because I made sure to call ahead to confirm that It would apply. I then asked the cashier if I could speak i could speak to the manager. She then responded with an attitude and said something along the lines of I can get you my manager but they are just going to tell you no. I couldn't believe how rude she was. I don't know if she was having a bad day or what but I chose to ignore her attitude. I then speak to a second lady who wasn't even the manager and she repeats to me that they won't honor the 20% as a courtesy for the misunderstanding. I asked if she was the manager and she says that she isn't and can get me the General Manager. While I wait for the GM Right next to the check out is conventional oven and my son touches it by accident and burns himself! First of all that is a terrible spot for an oven and second of all why is it even on?!?!! There was no sign or warning that the oven was on or HOT. The GM finally comes out and I explain to him my situation and then went on to tell him my son just got burned by a hot oven on the counter and he doesn't even care. He was so unapologetic and wasn't even concerned by the fact an infant was hurt in the store. I have never experienced such bad customer service in my life. The people who work here are snooty and unprofessional. I then went on to ask if there was any type of procedure for when incidents like this occur in the store and they seemed to not know. They referred me to complete something online. There are so many more issues that happened during my visit which I will be relaying to their corporate offices directly. I did my Christmas shopping early, and came here last weekend. Honestly wasn't that impressed. I needed to find two things for two people on my list (egg rings and a bacon press) and couldn't find them anywhere in the store. A sales lady came up and looked at me and asked if I needed help, and I said yes, but another customer looking away responds "Yes, you can." The sales lady looks at me apologetically and went to help her instead. Uh okay, thanks.. Then another person working in the store asked if I needed help, so I asked where the egg rings were. He vaguely points to the other side and says "Over there." So helpful. Didn't end up finding either of the things, so I ordered them online from them. Williams-Sonoma has great stuff (though expensive), but this store was so busy (people EVERYWHERE) and I just didn't like it. I went up to one and asked where something was, he simply pointed to the back of the store and said: "back there". I asked if they had samples of the peppermint bark, and a sales lady sort of "barked" at me, saying in no uncertain terns: "NO". I went to Roseville William Sonoma this afternoon to buy a gift for a bridal shower. I was looking for the Penguin sparkling water maker, a Nespresso machine or something nice. They didn't have the Penguin and while I was looking more, I picked up five cooking tools, $10 each and started to pay for them, thinking that I should just get a gift certificate instead. While the cashier was ringing me up, I noticed they have several Nespresso machines for demo and the pods and cups for it. I asked the cashier if they don't mind me having a espresso. She said they were only for demo. ARE You kidding me? William Sonoma could not spare .72 cents to make a customer happy? I got so disgusted by them that I told her to forget it and canceled my purchase and walked out. So I drove to Sue La Table, got my gift certificate, cooking tools and my espresso With all the online shoppings that is putting physical stores at risk, this place needs a much better customer service and training because, you might get your sales from on-line shoppers, but when mall stores closes, it's the cashier that won't have a job.
