The classes focus on rotating exercises and styles to make sure your muscles don't get too used to the same old same old this their mantra, "Never the Same". Don't be afraid or intimated to start here. This is a clean, well designed, gym and is NOT full of meatheads (it's ~2/3 women) with people of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels. Not to be missed are Nate's sports massages which you can do here or at the sister gym Humble. NOT for the faint of heart but if you want to feel like you are walking on clouds after 45 mins Nate is the best. I've been spoiled at certain times in my life…read more I was born in Southern California and spent my very young years living three blocks from the beach and a short drive from Disneyland. I got out of having to be in the band, chorus or orchestra in middle school because my mom was a PTA big shot and pulled some strings. Every time we drove up from Jersey to Penn State to drop me off at college, the same mom would stop at the beer distributor and pick me up a case of Yuengling. And The Chatham Club was the first gym I ever went to. But being spoiled doesn't always have its privileges. Every other gym is ruined for me because none can keep up with this place. I've been a member here three separate times in my travails in and out of living in this area, and every time they seem to have something new for the members. With my recent membership I noticed 3 stationary bikes with large screens attached to them. They aren't TVs but provide you the opportunity to ride virtual courses. Instead of just being told there's a hill by some LCD screen, you see the hill approaching with the ocean to your left. Very cool stuff. They have a huge assortment of treadmills, bikes, ellipticals and machines (a separate spinning studio also). Pretty much everything you could need is here and then some. If there's any sort of minor complaint, the free weight area is a little small and can get crowded if you go during a busy time, but it's not too bad. There are also 6 squash courts if that's your thing plus an aerobics studio, pilates and probably tons of other things I don't even know about. Just get off your butt and go already.

This gym is (thankfully) not a cheap membership, but all equipment is top of the line and everyone, from towel guy to manager (long time friend, Darren Worts) is friendly and conscientious (did I spell that rite ?) Geoff Mitchell has been the squash pro for as long as I've been a member...just don't play him at pool, for money....or for that matter, any other hand-eye related sport ! When I walked in, there was no assessment, no questions asked - I was simply added to a group. It turned out that this was too strenuous for me. In fact, when I was pulling the sled, I fell backwards as the weight was too much and hurt myself. No one noticed or seemed to ask me if I was OK. I decided not to return. I asked for a refund after remembering that I had purchased the five-pack but was told by Lucas Cittone that there were no refunds and my five-pack had expired. I've since joined Orange Theory and it's a much better fit for me.

They hold a lot of birthday parties here and also they have a zip line for some of the parties. There's also a gymnastics section of the building which is pretty large and includes some bouncy houses and all different kinds of obstacles and a soft pit of foam blocks. They also have a mini soccer and gymnastics floor for practices or other sports. What's up is mostly younger, high schoolers and college kids is my gas, they wander around and help the kids with belaying and keeping the order. Very reasonable birthday prices and they have at least four party rooms that kids can use.

Please use caution if you're considering their van transportation service…read more Our experience with the transportation service was extremely concerning. On one occasion, the driver never picked up my child from school, and we were never notified. We believed our child had been transported to Centercourt as usual. Near the end of the day, the school called to tell us that our child was still there, alone, because no one had come to pick them up. As parents, not knowing where your child is for hours is terrifying. I had to leave work immediately to pick up my child. In any emergency, accurate knowledge of a child's location is critical, and this incident demonstrated a serious breakdown in communication and accountability. Unfortunately, Centercourt did nothing to make up for this. We also experienced another incident where the transportation van broke down, causing the children to arrive over an hour late. Based on our experience, I also had concerns that some drivers were difficult to communicate with because they spoke little or no English, which made it harder to address transportation issues when they arose. If you are considering relying on their van service to transport your children, I encourage you to ask detailed questions about their driver screening process, communication procedures, backup plans, and how parents are notified if something goes wrong. Our experience left us feeling that these safeguards were not adequate.
