I needed to replace some pool tile that came loose from the top of the wall between the spa and pool thanks to our pool guy walking on it while doing the weekly cleaning. The pool service wanted to quote me a price to replace the entire top part of the wall citing that the tile was too old and brittle, and they could not simply reattach the two loose pieces. While waiting months for their quote and after me sending multiple reminders, one of the two pieces was lost - most likely broken and tossed in the trash due to the pool guy continuing to walk in that area. Duh?! Really?!....plus the pool guy couldn't tell us what he did (Yes, I'm considering a new pool guy!) While waiting for the quote, I finally found another company to do the work but had to chase them down for the estimate, which was reasonable, not to mention pleading with them to come out. The owner was rather grumpy and then refused the job...long story here (but his reviews mentioned that-should have listened!)...not a big enough job for him, I guess. Thank heaven for Wil and William's Tile and General Construction. I wasn't going to call since he was some distance away but did so anyway. I had all but given up on finding someone. Wil gave me an outstanding price and was able to find a creative way to replace the missing tile. He was even able to save a few pieces of the old, brittle cut-out tile that the expert pool people (who do this for a living plus clean pools) said could not be done. Although I could not find a perfect match for the old, circa 1993 pool tile, I found a "close-enough solid color tile, which looks fine. Wil did an expert job on relocating and re-attaching the tile from the overflow to the top of the wall, saving and giving me a few pieces of the old removed tile (in case this happens again) and replacing the old tile on the overflow. He even re-grouted a few other areas that looked iffy without being asked! My boyfriend even commented on what a terrific, professional job he did and said that his clean-up was first-class - there was nothing floating around in the pool (even with all the sawing) and the spa seat and bottom were clean. Besides doing expert work, Wil found a way to come out to the house quickly to handle the job and gave me an excellent price for the work. Recently bought a new home and going through a bunch of little repairs at the moment. The previous homeowners did subpar renovations on some things and one of more obvious one was the shower. The shower floor was sloped incorrectly and water would pool in the lower right corner. I called around several places and they were asking for 3 to 4 thousand dollars because they stated the shower pan was broken and needed to be replaced, yet they didn't want to bother with stopping over for an estimate or even looking at pictures of the problem. I contact Williams Tile and they informed me they could remove the old tile and slope it correctly for a great price. I was so impressed they I had them put in a garbage disposal with an air switch. Will was able to get us out of room addition that was abandoned by a previous contractor. He was able to get the job done quickly with his team and got the room addition to pass the final inspection. If you want a job to get done correctly in a timely manner, I would highly recommend Williams Tile and General Construction. You get what you pay for. We tried to save money with the previos contractor and got into many problems. Other contractors did not want to get involved with a job that was abandoned but Will took on the job to completion. read more

Wiliams tile installed over 50 shower stalls for our company. Every one of them were installed solid, durable and aesthetically pleasing. We have had no problems with leaks, durability or looks. Tiles were installed level and straight to craftsman's high standards. The materials used and installations are old school making them pretty much bullet-proof. No short cuts were taken. We are extremely satisfied with the work. They also did many smaller jobs over the last 10-years assisting us with last minute details in order to satisfy company requirements at a moments notice. After a very bad experience with another contractor, I found William's Tile and General Construction. It took a couple weeks to commit, but I finally decided to call for help. Wil came out and said that he could tear up the unevenly laid and discolored tile by the previous contractor. Fredo did the work and managed not to damage the new tile wainscoting and tub during the demolition process. He re-installed new tile and it looked terrific. In addition, we found out from Wil that the tile should have been sealed first. Since it was not, the limestone retained discoloration from the grout which made it look dirty in places. What a nightmare! From there, Wil and Fredo performed other work for us in our 100+ year old Craftsman home. Some of which entailed more demo and rebuild due to mistakes from the prior contractor. Among the many projects, new floor joists and sub-flooring were installed so that our kitchen and bedroom flooring were level. They also fixed the prior contractor's attempt of leveling the floor in the laundry. New kitchen and laundry room tile were also installed. Additional projects included tearing down the un-level kitchen ceiling, fixing the beams and installing new drywall and skim coat. Wil and Fredo always treated us and our home with great respect. Everything was cleaned up every night. Wil also provided us with great value in pricing some items at cost or allowing us to use his vendors and discounts. We did a kitchen remodel and I had William's company do our backsplash in our kitchen. William was very responsive and on time and confirmed when he was coming out. He helped buy some bullnose tiles that I was having trouble finding and helped get them and picked them up too. Him and his guys were prompt and showed up on time. I had an electrical switch that needed replacing and they helped me replace that while they were here too. They are really detailed oriented with their work and we love how the backsplash came out. read more

Very disappointed to be told AFTER the job that the price was increasing more than $500.00 than our agreement. The rationale was supposedly that rotten wood needed to be replaced, but $500.00 was way more than the contracted allowance for that. Also there was no documentation or evidence of the "wood rot." Especially if you're a senior citizen, be sure your contract is specific and BEWARE of language that allows them to "adjust" the price. (More? Sure - I could also agree with one of the other commenters and speak to the fact that you were really never at the job site and talk over your customer. I just hope now your guys do good work - surely you have no idea since you weren't there to see it). read more

Considered using him for a bathroom renovation. Some of his suggestions on the project were very helpful. Prior to finalizing the contract I began experiencing some red flags that would require him being more managed on the project than I would have liked- didn't listen, offering the same suggestion multiple times, etc. His cost for labor also felt especially high but I was willing to pay it based on the anticipated quality. - I changed my mind about using him, when we were working out the final details of the contract and realized he was charging us over $175 per hour solely for labor. The reason for the one star review is because of how obstinate he became when I withdrew from the project, demonstrating exactly the red flags I had seen earlier. read more

I found William through an exhaustive yelp search while I was searching for a contractor that did BOTH plumbing and tile work. All the people I contacted previously either did one or the other so my review of Williams work showed all positive reviews and I reached out for an estimate. When I initially contacted him, due to our schedules he was able to review photos to give me my initial estimate for work needed. On his initial visit he was straightforward with his opinions, kept me informed when any additional issues arose so I could be informed and have input in how to address corrections. On days that I could not be present the whole time he would keep me well informed, sent me photos to make sure that the work was done to my expectations and also was very throughout reviewing the plans with me right before starting a new section of the project to prevent miscommunications. While choosing tile, he had recommendations for a local tile shop that could closely match my original 1940's maroon tile and gave good recommendations for types of floor tile that are more textured and safer to stand on per my request. Fredo also had a great suggestion to change the shower step framing to better navigate the walkable area of the small bathroom, and when I had issues with my floor tile color choice for the original bathroom, they patiently waited for me to choose and order a better match and now after all I have two fully functioning, beautiful, solid quality crafted bathroom showers that will be maintenance free for a very long time. William and Fredo were very respectful of my house, put down paper to protect the wood floors and we cultivated an excellent friendship over the weeks of the project. A family friend recommended William's Tile, as she has had him do several jobs at her home in the past that she was very satisfied with. We needed our bathroom to be completely remodeled, with the hallway closet taken out to make more room for a larger shower area to be built in its place. Since no one is home during the day (and we have very busy weekends as well), a lot of the major work was done while no one was home (except for the family dogs kept in the backyard, of course!). The progress made during the day while we were away was great -- the difference each day when we would leave to work and come back was significant. Needless to say, I'm glad that our trust in Will and his fellow worker was not misplaced. There were no problems, as these two are obviously honest and proud of their work/reputation. Everything went smoothly, the work was of high quality, and the entire remodeling process was much faster than I had originally expected. No complaints to speak of, and we love our new bathroom.
