I am so glad I found Harvey @ Williams Woodcraft. What a solid, honest and knowledgeable guy! I took my boat in for some work, after having some shifting and performance issues. He was not only completely thorough in his inspection and work, but he called me every day to give me an update and sent me pictures of work he was performing. We've had great success with the normal maintenance tune ups (spark plugs, impeller, etc.) AND then it happened..... we ran over a mound of boulders in the Sacramento River and totally destroyed the bottom of our boat!!&@$$$! Good news was we got everybody home safe on sinking boat The bad news was the entire base of the boat had to be replaced or rebuilt. The gel coat was completely rebuilt and skegs replaced. A month later we got our baby back and she looked great. We would not go any place other than here. These guys are the real deal and do careful work. Thank you! read more

Took my 1980 ski nautique here this week and all the great reviews are true. This guy is a true craftsman in every sense of the word. Was quick ,extremely reasonable and went out of his way to fix problems and get us ready for summer. I just asked for a general checkup / oil change and he did that and more even cleaned and oiled the swim deck This is a place you want to keep a secret but these guys deserve all the business they want. We were stuck on the side of the road on HWY5 heading out of town for a weekend getaway with our boat when one of our boat trailer tires blew out and thought we broke our axle. We were stuck, far from any assistance on the highway searching for somebody to come and help either tow or fix our boat trailer when I came upon Williams and they said they could come out and fix it and we were in the middle of nowhere an hour plus from Sacramento and anywhere remotely that could help us. They were awesome.! I called. They dispatched someone right away, asked me to send photos and said they'd be there with the parts to fix it. James arrived, helped us get off the road to safety where he accessed the situation and fixed the tire and secured the boat and trailer. We had to replace the impeller on our 2007 Crownline 240 and contacted a few shops. The other shops either didn't work on 'older' boats, didn't have time to answer the phone, or would not guarantee when I would get the boat back. Not only did they answer the phone, they gave us the price and said they would work it in for a quick turnaround. As promised, I got the boat back in less than four hours at the very reasonable price quoted! I will definitely recommend this shop to my friends and anyone who asks. read more

Best Place to have your boat serviced! I had my boat serviced at Superior Boat Repair in Rancho Cordova was told that everything was done. Trusted them left without Starting it. Finally started my boat and the carburetor was idling to low. Called and told them. They said it would be a 2 weeks to adjust. Called William's Boat Craft told me to bring it in today 20 minutes and fixed. This guy is Awesome and I am sticking with him for all my boat repairs! read more

Let me start of by saying these are some really cool people. Professional and courteous. My engine was very worn and rusted. I had bought it from a relative who didnt really keep up with it too good. Harvey (the guy who ficed my boat) was very honest about my engine, FIXED EVERYTHING and even taught me how to safely unload and load my boat, as well as drive it. Excellent work, very reasonable pricing on the work done to my old Galaxie I/O (1984). Above and beyond as they even cleaned her up nicely, replaced the interior parts I took apart trying to do a shade tree repair. Took care of two additional mechanical concerns - could have charged me a lot and would have been no wiser - but the stern drive was simply stuck and the water impeller was actually working great. Met a good chunk of Harvey's family in my two visits-- felt like I was at a small town business where every one knows every one, and business depends on honesty and trust! Man I found these guys when three so called big marine shops put me out 3 weeks for a carb diagnostic. I am so pleased and can't express enough of how the guys in this shop is so knowledgeable in al km areas of boating ....k mean I tell them what I am experiencing they tell me possibilities and round about of time with no bs.....seriously man the pricing is so sweet you can't help but leave a tip. I have had my boat worked on by Harvey several times. I have a 1996 Malibu vlx, he has replaced gas fill hose, impeller, fixed alternator mount, water hoses, iac valve, bilge pump, removed water and mud from gas tank, and recently aligned vdrive and replaced intake manifold gasket. I'll start by saying he has been honest and friendly. He always returns my calls and answers my questions. He has always finished in a timely manner and given me a fair price. His shop is close to the water and he has been willing to take a test drive after repairs. He even met me on a Sunday to help me with repairs and backs up his work. I have used several other marine mechanics in Sacramento and Harvey has fixed their mistakes that they wouldn't honorably repair. I wish I would have used him in all my repairs. I highly recommend his services! read more

So happy I found these guys!! They are extremely knowledgeable and thorough. Their rates are very reasonable. I explained to them that I won't go back to my local boat shop because the last 2 times I had my boat in for work it didn't run when I put it in the water (once they failed to reconnect my fuel lines & second time something else broke near where they were just working). While diagnosing the problem, Williams Boat Repair did a very thorough inspection and discovered that although I paid for a full tune up and service last time my boat went to the local shop my oil was only filled up half way (?!?) Harvey, the mechanic, wanted to make sure I would be good on the water for my upcoming vacation, so he offered to take my boat on the river and test it after the repair. I am so thankful he did, because he discovered that the seal had a small leak. He was able to unbolt everything and tighten the seal so I didn't have the big expense of replacing it. He took my boat out again and confirmed that everything was sealed and running great. The shop is conveniently located just a couple blocks from the freeway and very close to the river. It gives me great piece of mind to know they can put my boat in the water and make sure everything is running great before I bring it home. Additionally, they did not charge me extra for the full inspection and all the time they spent putting my boat in the water and running it twice. These guys really want to provide the best service possible to the customer at a very fair price. They made a loyal customer for life here! read more

Complained about service that was either crappy or undone and had a buck knife drawn on me. Told for over a month that they where waiting for parts ie; impeller. Allowed items to be lost or stolen, parked my boat in a lot and left it in the hood instead of just bringing it to my home. Police report had to be filed. I even had to pay someone else to do the job that I paid them to do. I made the mistake of paying up front. I was told that Maybe my missing items were left at the shop but they refuse to return my calls or text for months. More on this if asked I will answer. The good news is that they know almost better than anyone how to do the job right. But they are truly the type of people that some can say "Bites the hand that feeds them" This is the best time to get your job done by them because the pressure of there actions will truly pay off for you. Many people know as being an asshole but they also know that only comes when I here stupid or see stupid. read more
