Had my Ford Edge in for service, that includes oil & filter change, tire rotation and top off all fluids. Next day I checked under the hood to find low break fluid, no washer fluid and low coolant. This is unacceptable! Not going back. read more

Even though I saw they had such a low rating and they were the closest Ford dealership to me. I gave them a shot and for a few years they did well by me return phone calls didn't give me a runaround fair pricing got me in got the repairs done in the quoted timelines. Now step forward to present day I can't get through to service or parts. I instead get transferred to some other person that definitely doesn't sound like anyone in that store taking down detailed information of exactly what I want and ensures me that I will receive a callback promptly that everyone is currently busy two weeks I've gone by and I haven't received a call back about the call for service appointment I needed to make so I just went somewhere else. I just again tried to call the parts department I get the same no answer then transfers me to some buddy. I can't believe is in the building who says the same thing oh well I guess I'll have to drive a little further actually get some service. something that was interesting. Was I just called while in the midst of writing this because I was coming past the dealership I pulled into the parking lot. I called service couldn't get anybody went to the same guy. I said OK transfer me to parts transfers new parts allegedly rings and rings and rings and nobody answers transferred me back to answer. I'm sorry they're just so busy right now there everybody's with customers I'm in the parking lot. I walk inside. There's no one at the service desk. They're just sitting around joking with each other out to the parts window nobody's there nobody's at the counter, waiting for parts nothing I walk out in the showroom. Well months and month later thousands of dollars later after multiple repairs due to miss diagnosis the problem got worse and worse. With having the vehicle for weeks at a time and still not fixed the problem went on so long it caused even more damage and now I'm expected to pay even thousands more to fix a problem o paid to fix on multiple occasions. It's Spark plug wires No steering damper problem No tire balance problem No it's a normal vibration No front axle problem No transmission service problem flush and drive it. We purchased a new car and the "upgrade to all included service" plan bringing our $250 / month car payment before the service plan up to $400 / month car payment. We were told we would only have to pay for rubber, meaning tires and wind shield wipers - forever! As soon as we needed tires we purchased them. At the time we also needed brakes and brake pads. Guess what, not covered. What? Why? We paid the extra $150 / month for over four years. Don't do the math. It will just upset you. Apparently brakes are "wear and tear". What on a car is NOT "wear and tear"? I'm pretty sure EVERYTHING is "wear and tear" on a car. PSA don't "upgrade" and buy the service plan. read more

This dealership has untrustworthy salesman! Traded a HD motorcycle so I could buy a Ford Fusion (2012). Sales person came up to us and said, "Great news! We were able to pay off your bike so your good to go on the car!" I asked, The bike is paid off?" Salesman, "Yup! Your good to go" I was soooo excited so signed all the paperwork. Got home with the new car and filed the paperwork away. When I got the statement the payment seemed a bit more than what was told to us. I pulled paperwork back out only to discover that Willis had NOT paid the bike off and about 3,000 had been rolled into the price of the car!!!!!!! Be very wary of the salemen there. Had my truck in there for warranty work, it's brand new. Truck was there 3 weeks and they fixed nothing. The attitude from service was take it where you bought it, were to busy to get to it. It's sad as over the decades I've bought vehicles here and used their service department on and off for decades. I will never go back here for nothing. I was told my brand new truck has no codes, after 3 weeks of frustration and no results I had it towed to winner ford, guess what, It has codes stored, so they totally lied to me stating no codes. If all you want to do is oil changes then open a jiffy lube don't pretend to be a ford service department. We were informed upon arrival that we mistakenly hit the wrong button to arrange the appointment - "leave". They made no attempt at all to accommodate our 15 minute oil change. Mom took her car to be serviced here and when she got the car back, I notice her car jack was missing, went back to mechanics to ask where they put it just to get a response saying it was gone to begin with or them playing dumb. Then when we ask for the manager constantly it's always the same response of they're not in today. Willis Ford service department has the most unskilled mechanics in the state of Delaware. Unless all you need are tires dont use them for any engine repairs. I took my car to Willis and was told I needed a new engine and was quoted over $6000.00 I went to Winner Ford in Dover for a second opinion and they fixed the car for 1800 only because I had them do extra work. The service managers response was we dont have manuals on a Kia. Well you sold it to me and tried to sell me an extended contract and now you cant fix it? Covid19 is being used as a reason for many things, but this dealership's service department appears to be totally on the rocks. I bought my car from Willis in 2016 and have had it serviced at Willis when we were in the area. Yesterday, I had the oil changed, 4 new tires mounted, balanced, and 4-wheel alignment. When I came to pick up the car, I paid the bill and reviewed the invoice. I flipped the page and looked for the check sheet that I had always received before (it shows that the technician performed a series of checks like topping off fluids, tire pressure, brake pad thickness) and did not find it. I asked the front desk operator if they had forgotten to include it. He said no, the service department doesn't provide that any more. I asked why, and he said it's their policy. I asked to speak with the manager. Rick (Catherton ?) came out of the back office. When I asked him what happened to the checksheet, he said they had stopped filling out the checksheet due to Covid19. When I said that this was a bad policy (to do the checks and not record them), he said that none of the other customers had complained. I said that it was still a bad policy. He said that this dealership was locally owned, as if that is a good reason to have bad customer service. At that point, I left the service area. I also did not receive the printout of the 4-wheel alignment nor any paperwork on the four new tires. When a car repair business gets to the point where they do not provide their customer with proof of the service they have performed, that is about as bad as it can get. I wish Willis well, but I'm not going back there. They are obviously stretched to the limit and customer service is the last thing they are concerned about. I have had better service by far in shops run by immigrants. They may not know the language too well, but they understand that if they don't satisfy the customer, they will not see the customer again. Everybody talks about "systemic" things: looking at the comments over the years, it's obvious that Willis management does not care. That is the definition of "systemic": the Willis system is broken. Not a single comment back to any one of the reviews. Sad to see another formerly good local business go down the drain like this. read more

I give the repair 3 stars and the staff 1 star...I was paying for the repair. Insurance had nothing to do with transaction with Willis. I informed Willis of this and directed that no insurance company needed to or was to inspect my car. Yet they allowed other person's insurance company schedule visit to inspect car against my expressed direction. (I had contacted other person's insurance company and sent 2 estimates for repair. I would get reimbursed after repair completed. So they must have contacted Willis directly, against my wishes.) And this delayed my repair by 2 days. When I asked about this, it was like the person could not understand that the insurance company had no right or need to inspect car since I was paying for repair directly. It seemed Willis was more concerned about the wishes of the insurance company than mine...Radio controls adjusted. Auto AC controls adjusted. And, worse, my driver side door 'Cherokee' logo was not replaced on the car. Unfortunately, I did not notice right right way. Had to replace myself at a cost of about $90. read more

Took my car in for a under the hood diagnosis. I ended up with a small laundry list. To include radiator, valve cover gasket's and replacement of transmission pan and filter. We had a disagreement on being over charged for my pre-ordered radiator so I left in search of a different repair shop. Winner ford installed the radiator on my request and I was informed of no problems with the old one. No problem with valve cover gasket and only gasket was needed for transmission pan. Buyer Beware! I am a lifelong Smyrna, DE resident and can tell you to look elsewhere when choosing your car and/or service. I have never been treated so poorly by another dealership. The service department is the worst. I had my truck in for the same issue three times. Willis said it was fixed and $550 later I went out the door. Two weeks later on a vacation the truck had the same issue and left me on the side of the road. The repair ended up being the same issue Willis had said they fixed. Went back to Willis to make it right and the Service Manager "Rick" was a real tool. Claimed it had been too long for him to do anything because it was 4 weeks ago. Yes, two weeks preparing for vacation and then two weeks on vacation broke down because of their incompetence. I will never go back and advise all to stay clear. There will be no service after the sale....trust me. I had heard this from others and chose to ignore it. Now I have experienced it first hand. read more

We are traveling through in F350 with a truck camper and needed routine maintenance. A bit of a mixup with our truck: I said it was 11'3", and asked if they could accommodate this vehicle. The very pleasant receptionist checked with someone and insured us that "yes no problem." She interpreted the dimension I provided as length, not height. I guess she has never actually seen an F350!! No harm, no foul, as we were able to quickly take the camper off the truck in a convenient location on the lot. Service was quick and very professional. Great recommendations on things that may have presented problems and other advice. I felt I was getting very straight advice. Owner was doing a Gemba Walk speaking with employees and customers. Super nice guy. I would not hesitate to recommend their service department. While my issue was small, they made me feel like a valued customer. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about everyone at Willis Ford. Janet Hovis, our sales rep, did not one time use the typical strong-arm, pushy sales tactics we've unfortunately become accustomed to when buying a new vehicle (which we do every 3 years as a requirement for my husband's job). My husband drove a vehicle on a Friday and told her we'd both be there on Saturday to drive it again. Instead of trying to pull the "it won't be here tomorrow" card, she said that would be fine and that she'd work up some numbers for our trade. They ended up giving us slightly more than KBB for the trade, which was very helpful because we knew we were in a bad situation with the vehicle because of high miles. When we got there on Saturday, we had decided to consider a cheaper, stripped down model to save some money. Janet still took us for a drive in the more expensive, loaded vehicle so we could compare the two but did so without trying to hype up the more expensive model and get us into a situation we couldn't afford. She took our wants and needs into consideration, ran the numbers for both of the vehicles twice, and just simply asked us if we'd be interested in either one. This was just a few hours after we were bullied at another dealership, so the respectful attitude was quite refreshing. When it came time to sign the papers, we told the gentleman that we weren't interested in anything but gap insurance and he did not once try to sell other unnecessary products to us. You could argue that he didn't do his job well by NOT pushing other products, but he listened to us, the customers, and we feel that's the proper way to earn respect and future business. A little kindness goes a long way and we will definitely consider Willis Ford in the future. My husband is responsible for purchasing trucks for his company, and Willis Ford is a strong frontrunner to receive that business. read more

I received a recall notice in the mail yesterday and called to find out what I needed to do. Phone service it seriously lacking! I was told they will need my vehicle for 3 days. Since it is just me I am like ok what do I do without a vehicle? HOLD. Comes back with options, not nice, talking extremely fast, no patience. Just really frustrated with attitudes. I didn't ask for the Coolant Level Sensor System to be defective FORD! This is the second time in as many months calling their service dept and gotten crap service. Tires, guy was almost rude. Basically we have cheap and high dollar, which do you want. My response, I will get back to you.
