Awesome and quaint little wine bar! I went there for trivia on a Monday and although I think I contributed two answers I had so much fun. My group sat on the patio and they accommodated by opening up the front door and put a speaker our way. Caesar salad was filling and fresh with nice crispy croutons and bread on the side. Willmore was AMAZING!! 25 of the closest people in my life threw me a surprise birthday party in the back room at Willmore and the staff was AMAZING! we clogged up their walkways and bombarded their kitchen and they were all so friendly and accommodating. Stopped by this place during the Brewery Knolls Beer Bus Tour. Needed a break from the beer so we stopped by for some wine. The ambiance of a restaurant/bar makes the whole experience and Willmore is such a cute and cozy place. We had the nice large wooden table towards the back. Came for breakfast this morning with a friend who is visiting from out of town. I knew it was the perfect time to stroll over to Willmore and and try the brunch items I've heard so much about. Amazing is an understatement!! From the toasted pita to the arugula on top of the asparagus, prosciutto and goat cheese scramble were superb. I've been here twice now, and neither time did I feel very welcome. Both times, I did a tasting flight at the bar. At $16 for just three two ounce pours from $20ish bottles (maybe $25-30 for the reds), the pricing doesn't really work. There's no explanation of the wines and the owner seems standoffish and pre-occupied. For a tasting room experience, I would expect someone who cares about customers and wants to share about wine; just not the case here in my experience. read more

Found this little gem on here. I moved to Long Beach recently, and decided to try this place out since my mom was in town. They opened at 2 pm and we arrived shortly after. Ernie (owner) greeted us and introduced himself right away. We also met a lovely lady that frequents the place. Ernie was super sweet and able to offer great selections based on us describing what we like and usually drink! My parents have been going here for years and love every single visit. I finally was able to join in after turning 21 and enjoy it as well- Ernie always knows what wines you'll like and the arugula salad is incredible. Even with COVID-19, there's still Zoom parties for the wine club (which of course we're part of!) and Ernie offers pickup of both wine and food. My dude and I came here on a quiet Sunday afternoon. We were pretty much the only patrons there except for a group in the back that regularly come in to play dominos. We sat at the bar and we each got our own wine flights, the white for me and the red for him (about $16 each). My dude was hungry so he got the grilled cheese with came with rosemary potato chips and walnuts. Mind you, we don't usually drink wine but we are starting to, hence the wine flight selection. Our server helped us learn about the wines that were served to us, in which he was very knowledgeable and overall cool. We drink each glass in the order he suggested, which was a good move. My fiance really enjoyed his grilled cheese and we were both surprised on how good the rosemary potato chips were. Overall it was a good time. From what we were told, there is live music, trivia, and dominos hosted here, depending on the day of the week it is. It is definitely a neighborhood wine bar so it has a great welcoming atmosphere to it. They also do frequent customer card too. We would love to come again soon! read more

I was able to visit here on a recent trip to long beach, and honestly this place is a gem. The wine list is varied, and the staff is able to give recommendations on what wine to drink. I tasted a few wines while here, and I enjoyed them all, and certainly enjoyed learning more about their qualities. They also sell small cheese plates for a reasonable price, and for this cheese-lover, that was definitely a selling point. The place is open and comfortable, with seats at the bar, as well as tables and a couch, which we were lucky enough to snag. The staff was friendly and efficient on my visit, and as it was near the holidays they even had a man playing carols on the piano, which only added to the warm ambience. I've been coming to Willmore since it opened (a little before, actually) and have always had a great time. I was surprised to see a 1 star review citing "hor (insert lots of "r"s here) rible service". Ernie and the team have always been courteous, knowledgeable and hospitable. Even with a packed room and service not as prompt as it might be other times it has always been professional. Even for picky people, and I am the type who won't complain, just not come back if unhappy, Willmore is a wonderful place. Such a wonderful addition to Bixby Knolls! This is a brand new space: bright and inviting with a lounging sofa area, a bar area, and what appears to be a party/education room in the back. The music was present, but low enough as to not interfere with conversation. As for the service, it is truly a rare thing to get such personalized and vastly unpretentious attention from an owner/sommelier. While I sat at the bar, I witnessed him intently listen to what the customers were looking for in a wine and gently guide them toward this or that varietal. To me, it was clear that this person really loves wine and is interested in helping others find that love as well. George and Andy/Liz are great places and their customers deserve/have dibs on that lot.). We needed to kill an hour or so until our flight out of LGB. We yelped booze in the area and came across this cute little wine bar. It opened at 2 pm and I think we walked in at 2:10 pm =) Happy hour until 5 pm... need I say more? With happy hour we got a few glasses of red wine at $5 each and a small plate which consisted of a few crackers, olives and manchego cheese at $5. The service was great, although we were the only patrons in the place until an hour or so into our boozing when another friendly group arrived. Got to try out this local place recently, and really liked it. We came on a quiet-ish Tuesday night, and the owner was very attentive. We each wanted a flight of reds, so he asked us some questions about the kinds of things we like and then brought us different choices. In addition to a little information about each wine, he wrote the name on each glass. I'm sure that's a no-brainer for most people, but I often forget what I'm drinking and that courtesy was incredibly helpful. I'm dinging one star because they have a very limited kitchen. The cheese platter we had was tasty, but sometimes you need something more substantial (and that would certainly make me linger there). The do have an agreement with the local pizza place (and they give you a little discount, which is great), but pizza isn't my favorite option when drinking wine. All in all, a great place to enjoy tasty wine. We'll definitely be back! read more

my husband and I love walking up to Willmore on our date nights. They have the best sparkling Rose I have ever had. It is not too sweet which is why I love it. They always have a great selection of wines and beer, and they are knowledgeable about it all. Their flat breads are always a go to for us! I was given the choice to try this place out or to go to another place in downtown long beach but I chose this place because I knew parking would be easier. I'm really glad I did! The place had a really nice vibe and the wine selection was impressive. Glasses range from $9 and up. We also got a cheese platter which was amazing! Great customer service from the staff and a very intimate feel compared to other places I've been to which is great when meeting up to catch up with a friend. We went on a Wednesday night and there is a lady who sings and plays the piano (my friend told me she's there all the time!). She was great. She played amazing jazz renditions of everything from "Because I got high" to "Baby Got Back." She also played great classics too so we were definitely a fan. Everyone is friendly, they remember your name, have a variety of wine and the paninis, olives, cheese, salami, albacore spread and rosemary chips are yummmmmmwrz! Wonderful experience for my first time here!!! I was struggling between Willmore and another bar on the other side of Long Beach to have a small gathering of friends and Willmore won because they made it so easy to reserve one of the back tables in the semi-private area in the back of the bar. Velika, who is in charge of reservations, was very helpful in making this possible. Then, when we arrived, the staff was so friendly and accommodating. The whole place had a great vibe and a woman was playing popular tunes on the gorgeous piano they have in front of the bar. Jesse was especially knowledgeable and has a great knack for recommendations based on what you enjoy drinking. He even made great recommendations for the cheese and chocolate options and we very much enjoyed his service. My group and I could not have had a better time, we were the last one's to leave and the staff didn't even give us a hard time of make us feel like they were trying to kick us out. I wanted to try something new so I searched "wine bars" and found a plethora of places to choose from in and around LA. After reading the reviews I settled on Willmore Wine Bar and am I glad I did. This place is a gem. The owner Ernie was very friendly and knowledgeable. He asked what we liked and offered suggestions. And his suggestions were fantastic. Not only did we sample a red and white flights but also two other glasses of whites (we were sharing). One of the whites was so good I had to take a bottle home. The charcuterie with cheese was also delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive and by the end of the night I felt like I was hanging out with old friends. On the way out we met some of the neighborhood regulars, who offered to buy us a drink so we stayed for one more round and had a great friendly conversation and lots of laughs. By the end of the night I left feeling almost like family. I definitely will be back. So if you have a chance stop by and have a great time. read more

They have a great selection of good wines and even have a few beers including Timeless Pints, the local brewery in this area. Although pretty standard for wine bars, they don't have much as far as food selection goes but depending on their restrictions hopefully that changes.
