Long overdue review I Love Love Love SALA! Been coming here for a few months for breakfast and latte cravings. They have seasonal menus so there's always something new. I personally love the Sunrise Matcha with their Breakfast burrito!! Service is quick and everyone has been very friendly. They also have wine offerings and a food menu so it's my go-to for Brunch. Hmm, going over the other one star reviews, I can notice a common theme. Really weird experience here. First it's 7:30pm, planned on ordering a matcha and the person at the register informed me that there was "No coffee or tea after 4pm" so I choose to order a non alcoholic beverage and maybe something to eat and cashier or owner, whoever this person was tells me if I plan to work because it becomes a "laptop free zone" after 4pm. Odd behavior to tell someone what they can and can't do at an establishment considering it's called a coffee AND wine bar. Maybe this is something to advertise on your yelp and website but a "laptop free zone" after 4pm is pretty ridiculous for potential customers who were just looking to eat and work. I almost feel like he just told me that because I was going to order a salad and a non alcoholic beverage and wasn't planning on ordering much. As the other 1 star reviews mention "pretentious behavior" so it's either the cashier or whoever it was is being pretentious as others mentioned or RACIST... Kinda odd to dictate what I do on my own accord while I'm a patron at your establishment. If I ordered food and a drink but chose to open my laptop, are you going to ask me to leave? Doesn't really seem customer centric. Considering that I've worked on my laptop at dine-in restaurants, it's pretty odd behavior to display. Also, considering that this is not a club, and there's no live music, and there were only 3 people sitting in there, I think I would have been fine to sit there quietly in a corner with my laptop. 1 star for the experience and weird behavior. Came here on a Sunday around 9am it was starting to get busy and only one employee. Street parking. Plenty of seating. Ordered a vanilla iced latte with vanilla foam and oat milk. The milk tasted sour so we asked to redo it they did but they said it was most likely the foam which has citrus. It tasted better after the redid it it was no too sweet. Being busy it did take a while to redo our order. All in all good for a one time try. read more

Space is nice. Seems like it's a mix of everything and space to meet up with people. I'm confused about this place because it seems to have a little of everything and nothing specific. There's a wine corner then it's a coffee shop and then there's food. And then there are reviews of people clubbing here. My review is for my experience here. Upon ordering my coffee, service was kind of blah. Didn't make me feel like they were focused on the customer service. Brunch at Sala, yes please! Been eyeing this spot for some time and finally found a day to leisurely enjoy some time here. Easy parking in the lot behind, great signage in front, an open layout, and walk up to order counter. The brunch menu had a nice variety, yet isn't extensive. We both ordered different breakfast burritos and different beverages and both gave everything 2 thumbs up. The place is chill and food/drinks very good. I was recommended to this place by another coffee shop in Manhattan Beach. I believe this shop underwent a recent remodel considering there was a car crash at the intersection. Came in and it's a bussing shop. Plenty of chairs, great vibes. A mix a people working and just chilling. The baristas are nice and professional. Got my coffee within 2 minutes. The cold brew was a little "tart" for me. Might be the tannins but it was good coffee. Overall a nice place to visit. read more

I've visited Sala more than a handful of times and have had a really good experience each time. I really like the Lavender Latte here. Walked here with my coworkers because we needed a mid-day pick me up. From the outside looking in, I didn't think it was gonna look super nice inside. There was a lot of seating, great place to work out of if you don't mind the music and other people having conversations. We grabbed two matchas and a coffee. The drinks and price were decent. The guy making our drinks was friendly. Sad I didn't get his name to give him a s/o. Also love the opportunity to potentially host community events. Went here for a Friday Dj Groove event. 03.20.2026 We walked over to the front entrance to find out that admission entrance is $10 a person. I told the bouncer that it wasn't stated on the IG promo event page. The bouncer let us in for free. That was very nice of him to do. Big Kudos to Michael! Walked in and found the bar on the left side. The vibe was cool. A young crowd of 21 to 30 year olds. Ordered Wine and a Paloma Cocktail. My wine was ok, wasnt the greatest of house wines. The Paloma was just a small cup of squirt and tequila, nothing special. Each drink was $16 a piece! Way overpriced for some squirt with house tequila and house wine. Walked around, the vibe was modern. Hip hop tunes were playing in the area. All was dark. It was a cook little hangout. Scoping the area, it was a feeling of Modern Latin Arts with a twist. We stayed for 15 minutes. The vibe was cool. I disagree with the prices of the drink. This place is charging drinks like Vegas or a sporting event I would like to come back on normal business hours to eat and drink from their regular menu. This place has potential to be successful if they deal their prices correctly. I will comeback soon. Disclaimer: only came here for the breakfast burritos so didn't try their drinks! There's plenty of street parking and a small lot in the back. the vibes of this place were cool, there's a bunch of wine with a DJ booth and plenty of seating to chill or eat. I heard the breakfast burritos were good so we tried both. - Bacon Burrito (3.5/5): it was ok but wish there was more bacon. Tasted a lot of potatoes and beans. Potatoes unfortunately weren't crispy, but tortilla was nice and charred. Eggs aren't scrambled so the yolk kind of oozed out while we ate it. salsa verde had an interesting minty/spice flavor to it? Not sure if I liked it but only 1 type of sauce. - chilaquiles burrito (4/5): more flavor on this one, but chilaquiles is soggy in the burrito. Lots of beans again and only had the same salsa verde. Overall place is really sick and people were nice but not sure if I'd come back for their burritos. read more

For the dinner experience at Cuevita at SALA: My husband and I came here for dinner and ordered the Grape Salad, Kofta (amazing!), Camote, and Garlic Prawns. The Kofta and Camote dishes were absolutely delicious with lots of flavors and unique textures. The grape salad was fine, but the prawns were extremely fishy. They also did not devein the prawns (aka poop lines still in tact) which was disappointing. Our waiter didn't smile once and quite honestly looked like he'd rather be anywhere but there. Glasses of wine are served in Port Wine glasses. Extremely small pours for regular prices. I would like to come back to try their coffee but will not be back for their dinner service or wines. read more

I already know I need to come back for food and wine. Obviously. I found SALA while walking around Long Beach and it has easily become my favorite cafe in the city... mainly because of their lox bagel and calm ambience! Their lox bagel is really great quality. And the ambience is great for people who are anti-"big light", if you know what I mean. I've only gone about 3-4 times so far, but ordering has always been easy and customer service hasn't disappointed. I've gone during the day and parking hasn't been an issue. Went there a few months ago, I bought two matcha lattes, one breakfast burrito, and one breakfast sandwich. The matcha lattes were really watery but the food was delicious. My best friend found this beautiful cafe with ambient natural lighting. It was breakfast time. I walked into this beautiful modern, retro, cafe and said "Where am I? How come we've never been here before?" To the corner were a fine selection of wines, a nice bar area, a vintage speaker that played the best of soul, indie and jazz. Additionally there were lots of seating. The barista was very nice and welcoming when she found out it was our first time here. My best friend got a matcha tonic with chilaquiles and I got a lavender latte with a breakfast burrito. Chilaquiles - very flavorful with the perfect amount of spice. She also loved how they used real eggs compared to other establishments who are using just egg to combat the rise in egg prices. She noted that she'd happily pay the surcharge if it meant using real eggs. The chips were also crispy and cooked to perfection. Breakfast burrito - I added chorizo. It was big with potatoes, eggs, cheese, beans and of course the chorizo. Everything was well cooked and the salsas were fresh and delicious, it only elevated the flavor profile of the burrito. I highly recommend getting this Lavender latte - my only quip was that I wish the cups were bigger. But it was really good. Matcha tonic - The matcha was a dark green with a candied orange and I wish I got this because it looked good. By night this place turns into a nice wine bar with a Dj spinning records. What a fantastic coffee shop and wine bar! I have been following SALA on Instagram for a long time, and I cannot believe it took me this long to get here.  We indulged on the menu since it was our first time here. Between the two of us, we got two Yuzu Cold Brews (which are alcoholic!!), Matcha Sunrise, Midnight, and Chorizo Breakfast Burrito. Yuzu Cold Brew - Great for a brunch drink at a coffee shop! The yuzu sake is bright and counteracts the acidity of the cold brew. The jalapeno is also very fragrant, but not necessarily spicy. I would describe it as giving the drink lift rather than a kick.  Matcha Sunrise - I don't think that they use fresh orange juice, but they do use a good matcha. This drink was enjoyable, but I would probably try their matcha in a different format to be able to tell you more about the quality. Midnight - This drink is thick, decadent, and delicious. It is chocolatey, but not overly so. The orange in it gives it a night brightness that cute through the richness of the drink and makes for an indulgent treat. Chorizo Breakfast Burrito - Solid!! I love when burritos, especially breakfast burritos, are evenly distributed. Every bite had a little bit of everything, which included flavorful chorizo, tender beans, potatoes, and eggs. SALA was a wonderful find, and I am so excited to go back to try more! They host events at night with a bigger food menu, vinyl DJs, and more community goodness. They also sell wine here, which is a great selection. One of their wine people talked to my boyfriend for  a while and he ended up buying a bottle of Dandelion wine. Definitely add this spot to coffee shops in Long Beach that you don't want to miss. read more

Sala Coffee & Wine is such a great spot in Long Beach. The matcha is consistently good, and their breakfast items are definitely worth trying. It is a great atmosphere to get a bit of work done but as a heads up there is a WiFi sign that notes it is limited to 90 minutes or 2 hrs I believe, but I've never needed more time than that. read more

Would not recommend. Food and drink was pricey. One positive note was that my Matcha Cream Top was yummy. My boyfriends Cold Brew tasted sour like another reviewer mentioned. He drank it but commented several times that it was pretty unappealing. Way better quality and prices directly across the street at Cassidy's Bakery. I got the Lox Bagel at Sala, bagel felt cold and rubbery. I took two bites and had to throw it away. I orders the BLT at Cassidy's and it was delicious and cheaper and faster! Service was terrible. Only two female taking orders and making drinks. Zero energy and friendliness to customers but they had the energy to chat with friends that hung out at the pickup drink area. I observed one guy came out of the back to help 40 mins after we arrived. Management, please staff appropriately, across the street at Cassidy's they had more than 5 prior working on drinks and bagels and way less people waiting for their orders. Not enough seating. Everyone was standing around waiting for tables for the whole 40 mins we waited. No tables opened up. We were in the building for close to hour. Line was long and the cashiers didn't seem to care about the customer experience. We waited 36 min for bagels. My friend never got their coffee order. When we got our orders, they were served for here instead of Togo as requested. We asked if we could have them to go and they silently walked away without responding. When they placed it to go they just put it in a plastic box and handed it to us without napkins. Every step of the service was awkward. Also not sure why but the cashiers allowed a young boy in a baseball outfit to step into the back of house ice machine and scoop ice for himself. He yelled across the bar to ask his family if they wanted any. That was so inappropriate and unsanitary. What a waste of $50. Management do better. I don't normally write reviews but that was terrible and my group couldn't stop pointing out all the weird issues and bad energy. I'm including a photo of the bakery across the street selling almost the same products. Check out how many staff it takes to properly run a cafe service. Again management do better because who knows if your two workers were just hella burnt out from holding down this sinking ship. The place looks great but doesn't run well. My best friend and I went to go cafe hopping and came across SALA. We came here once before after our walk and loved the ambiance. It had such a homey vibe and a really cool DJ booth. LB cafes are the best with community collabs and we loved how small biz were sharing their work here. The food was amazing, we only ever got their bagel sandwiches. But, we're way too obsessed with it because after we had it for the first time, we couldn't stop thinking about it! So we came back again and it's just so good! We loved the Spicy BEC with an everything bagel. We tried the breakfast burrito once and it was good but not our favorite. Additionally, we got their Salita latte before and it was very yummy. This time, we got the Mexican Mocha latte and the original espresso tonic. By far, the best espresso tonic I've had! So smooth, espresso was great. The service was good and friendly. Baristas are kinda enough to serve drinks and food to those who eat there. Came here a few months ago for the coffee. And I wasn't disappointed loved it. Also had the chilaquiles.

I called seven times around 11:00 a.m. during posted business hours, but no one answered the phone. Unfortunately, I was unable to place an order, which was disappointing because I was really looking forward to having the breakfast sandwich. We finally tried this place in our neighborhood. We first wanted to try some coffee and I figured since that should be the very basic if you have good coffee, then food and then wine should follow. Unfortunately, we are pretty disappointed in our coffee. I order a cold brew and my husband ordered their house hot coffee. My cold brew was super bitter and my husband's coffee was pretty bland. They didn't have any options to add any sugar / raw simple sugar etc at the counter when our order was ready but we figured we wanted to just taste the flavor of their coffee and was disappointed. I stopped by here for a few hours without knowing what to expect and I was blown away by the service and the latte I got! I also got the chilaquiles (which are not pictured since I ate them so fast). However the drinks leave something to be desired, the coffee taste watered down and lacks flavor. The iced mocha didn't have enough of that rich chocolate taste, or the strong coffee I expect from a local coffee shop. All 3 or so times I've been here have been consistently great experiences. I usually come before noon on a Saturday or Sunday and order about the same: vegan breakfast burrito, a hot latte and a vegan donut. I love love love to come here for a nice chill date with a friend to catch up over food and coffee. Ive never had to wait for a table and the food comes pretty quickly. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. Parking is good and the vibes are perfect. I have also tried the house wine, which has not blown me away, but it's to expect from house wines. Pricey and mediocre wine bar -- decent coffee. Short of it: No price on most wines, the wines priced are costly ($40+), corkage is $15, very limited chilled wine selection, bad service. We walked in on a Saturday afternoon and the wine area had a lot of boxes on the ground so it looked messy. Okay, whatever. The real issue is that 80% of their wines did not have the price written on them. Most wines were between $40-60(!). I asked for the corkage fee, $15(!). Wine by the cup is $15. We asked for some chilled wines and they only had a couple that they had to get from the back of the house. It already seemed like a lot but I paid it anyway. I even tipped, only to find out that we had 30 minutes because they were going to close for an hour to do some dinner service. I would've appreciated a warning BEFORE my purchase. They serve us our chilled wine wine and leave it on the table. They didn't offer to keep it in their fridge nor did they bring it in a wine chiller (bucket with ice). What's the corkage fee for?? Then, at 2:50pm they came to tell us to leave by 3pm. All in all, I paid approximately $60 for 30 minutes of poor service. I'm a sucker for cafes and spaces that are intentionally set up in such a way where you can spend your entire day and evening there. SALA, Spanish for "living room" is one such place. I got introduced to this place quite randomly. I was with friends at a book festival in a nearby library and we wanted a coffee spot that was open late and we found this spot via Yelp. Besides coffee, they offer wines by the glass and there's a solid food menu that includes bagel sandwiches and breakfast burritos until 1pm. Hot sandwiches are available from lunch onwards and on weekends, there's dinner service. Shelves of natural wine stock the shelf along with other products and a disco ball hanging from the ceiling reminds you that a DJ spins at night. In other words, you can start your day here for breakfast, work through lunch, enjoy wine whenever you're ready to start happy hour and party on after dinner! I've yet to try their dinner service but I do like coming here for their bagel sandwiches. Coffee could be better in my opinion.. I wish they'd use better beans.
