Google review summary…read more Bill Bothelio 3.5 Stars Added - 24 minutes on Google. End of March 2026, we stayed here for 3 days. My family enjoys staying here bbqing and fishing. I wish they could add more lighting poles by the docks for night fishing, kinda dark or replace the burnt out pole lights. I really enjoy staying here, been coming here for many years. A few things i fixed while we were there, a couple stove burners didn't work, also the toilet seat cover was very loose, i tighten the nuts and fixed it. One last item the refrigerator light bulb was burned out. Maintenance should check these rooms more often., i did ask the maid for more paper towels but she never came back, other than these few things it was great staying here. We like coming here to fish and relax, much better in summer time. We will be going back at the end of May if all possible. One last item, The bench by the boat ramp is very loose, possible safety issue. Many thanks.

Perhaps its the fact that I've travelled a lot and am used to a certain standard...I stayed at the…read moreMallard Inn at the recommendation of a local resident while in Lakeport on business. I pulled in and it is obvious that the place is old and needs repairs. Lily was nice and while I booked a small room with no kitchen she implored me to upgrade and even showed me the difference in rooms - I didn't need a kitchen and the small room was fine, but I felt like maybe she needed the extra income, so I upgraded. The room itself is very modest, everything is old and in need of an update...I wasn't sure I wanted to walk on the carpet on my bare feet. With that being said, the bed, bathroom and kitchen area were clean. There is not HVAC, so be weary in the heat of summer (small wall AC unit) or the freeze of winter (small floor heater). I ventured to the elevated dock area to look out at the lake - The view is beautiful, there is zero doubt about that, but the dock and the surrounding structures are all in such disrepair its very sad; I didn't feel safe. The walls are quite thin (I was in #5) and I could here traffic from the street, doors closing, TV's, conversation, etc...Also, they advertise that no pets are allowed, but the man staying in the unit next to mine had a large labrador that came lumbering out as I arrived...He later took the dog to the lake, let it swim and then brought it back wet and let it back into his unit...mmmm wet dog smell! Would I stay again? Given that there really isn't any good hotel (Marriott, Hilton, etc) in Lakeport, his place is as good as any and did I mention the bag of Famous Amos cookies on my pillow?! Maybe...

Why couldn't I find this place on Yelp when we were in Lakeport late one night, and were looking…read morefor a last-minute place to stay? We were actually going to check out a place next door and fell in love with Mallard House. My husband walked in to check out if they take dogs, the owner came out to look at our cute little pup, and within ten minutes we were tucked into a sweet little cottage close to the Lake. What we really enjoyed was the quality of the bed and linens. Comfy! And, I'll admit that I was anxious about staying by Clear Lake because of it's bad rep with poverty...but this place was quiet and actually gorgeous in a way that Napa can't compete with.

Not sure why people who are NOT staying at the hotel are putting bad reviews about the hotel…read more First of all, we showed up two hours early and we were immediately accommodated, no questions asked. Jeremy was extremely kind and helpful with all the information regarding the hotel and boat launch/marina. Our room was perfect, bottom floor, right outside of the front desk area. We were able to launch our boat for free with a slip. King size bed was comfortable, and room had all the amenities. The restaurant is DELICIOUS for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In our 4 day stay, we never had a bad meal. Even tried the arcade and Little Caesars, kind staff continued. The pool was a great addition as the lake water was not very inviting. My only complaint has NOTHING to do with the hotel but the marina. Jeremy told us the marina and the hotel are separate. Day 3 of our stay, Saturday, there was to be a concert. Awesome, we love music. We had friends coming into town that afternoon to celebrate my husband's bday and take out their new boat. Well that afternoon, we walked to the boat launch, it has vendors in front of it. We asked the marina staff why they are blocking it, the two ladies didn't apologize or even look up at us, just said "oh yeah, it's been closed all day for the concert." We asked why we were not told, what if we planned on taking our boat out that night after fishing, they replied "well it's closed." Went to the hotel, again Jeremy and his kindness asked security to speak to management and that next time the hotel needs to be notified so they can tell hotel guests. Even a bloody sign at the launch would have been more help than the rude marina staff. Overall, this place is amazing. Very very friendly staff. Always accommodating and kind. We will stay here again.

The lake view was now overgrown with shrubs across the street from the Motel. The Pergola was a shabby covered area with two tables. No i did not forget to mention the chairs, there were none except the ones you will see in the pics added here. There was a chair neatly placed outside each rooms' door, none looked like they had ever been moved. There was no bbq to grill on so we just left the raw food in the cooler :( When i called about the wifi the guy said it was being worked on. Spoke to the owner not long after and she stated that it would be fixed Monday. LOL i had a feeling, there was never any wifi. The part i found to be the most amazing was when we called in the morning to see how long breakfast was being served, the man who answered said there was no breakfast. I asked him why, he stated "I did not feel like getting any" WTF?! You have to be kidding, right? I mean come on, your in the largest of the cities that are around the lake, in a populated area near boating docs and tourists. If you get a chance check out the outdated web site. There is no more concerts at the lake. the one and only amphitheater was closed many years back. 1 star cause i have to to review

Cons: Filthy, disgusting, tile floors with caked on dirt and grime; dirty walls, fixtures and lamp base was grimy/gross; mold around toilet caulking; toilet lid from the 1950's (at least); internet worked only part time, television did not work; microwave was a burn hazard; broken sink tap which sprayed all over; Shower nozzle was at eye level); road noise; paper thin walls with noisy neighbors. Manager doesn't answer door. Okay place if you wear plastic bags on your feet, rubber gloves on your hands.Maybe a HazMat suit. Next time go to Anchorage Inn, much nicer.
