    E. G.

I'd like to prefaces this review by saying this is my response to absolutely no human consideration by Decron property management and I feel future tenant should know what they're getting themselves into. I have lived in Willow Creek for about three years and I initially very much enjoyed the community and my unit, it seemed to be a perfect fit for a chapter in my life. However, during my residence, I have had to deal with multiple challenges. The following incidences have been reported to the old manager and/or the police: My car (Tesla) was stolen from the parking lot before midnight and left on the East side of San Jose, my storage garage was broken into and nearly $20,000 of my personal items were stolen, my car was broken into a second time, I have caught someone burglarizing another person's garage and my mailbox has been broken into 2x, resulting in credit card fraud, and everything encompassing has left lasting effects of feeling generally unsafe. Additionally, there is something gravely wrong with my gas/electricity meter, my average bills are ranging from $500-$800 and that is absolutely absurd. I emailed the previous manager about this, with no response and on the phone I was just told by management that PG&E prices we're going up, which I'm very aware of being a realtor. I have clients with over 2000 ft.² single-family homes that do not pay this much. I have contacted PG&E and even changed to the tier system, where I diligently turn my power off (even on the breakers) from 4 PM to 9 PM, however, energy use is still being shown on my report when I'm either not home we're not using energy. I am concerned someone is using my meter and has been for the greater part of the year or the community electricity from the garages is underneath my unit is connected to my meter because this makes no sense. I feel unheard by Decron management and I have been paying a ludicrous amount for energy and this would need to be solved for any future tenant as well. For another reference point, I have talked to multiple tenants in the community in the maximum anyone has paid in the hottest or cold is part of the year has been $250. My unit is directly in front of the proposed construction site, and I work from home and sleep very odd hours, so this construction will completely change my entire lifestyle by interrupting me with noise, dust, blocked views with units looking down on my unit and all the security issues that come with a construction zone. The main issue here is the dust and by products from the construction, I have chronic asthma, and cannot be exposed to such a material for likely a year plus construction project. For some additional background, I have recently found a cockroach infestation in my garage. When I initially moved in one of my questions was being able to use the plugs in the garage to charge my electric car, and that was no longer allowed after one month, causing me to have to pay public charging for three years, when that was one of my variables moving here. I also upgraded my unit by paying out-of-pocket to have my bedroom floors turned into hardwood floors from carpet. I'm proud to say I have been a phenomenal tenant and I have not missed one payment and have shown constant appreciation to everyone that makes this community run because I know how much effort it takes being in a similar industry! I have even written five star reviews on multiple platforms to help promote Dacron to new residents. I mention this because I am not an unreasonable person or a rude tenant, making up a bunch of BS to get out of their lease. I am just a human hoping Decron is sympathetic with my legitimate concerns/ complains and finds the kindness in their heart to wave the early termination fee or compromise in someway for all of the trials and tribulations, I've been through while living here. This public review is an opportunity for Decron to make things right by waving the break fee for the multitude of reasons listed above and contacting me after reading this review.

90 degree temperatures INSIDE my apartment

I would not recommend anyone consider moving here! I have been waiting for an air conditioner repair for nearly 2 months, and the front office won't even pick up the phone or return my calls anymore. I'm writing this in the middle of a heat wave, the temperature inside my apartment is north of 90 degrees, and it's going to be even warmer the rest of the week. I've called the front office about twice a week, and on the off-chance that someone picks up the phone, I'm only promised a call-back with an update that never comes. The only way I've been able to get ANY information is by calling the maintenance after-hours emergency number, and while they've been much kinder and pleasant to work with, there still seems to be zero timeline for the repair of a critical appliance which was advertised for this unit. And that's not all! Before this, my air conditioning has been broken for about a year - last summer, I made at least a dozen calls and requests to have my AC fixed - front office would get a contractor out for a preliminary check, the repair person would say they need to come back with parts to make the repair, and the front office would refuse to follow up. This happened at least 3-4 times, and every time when someone came out it would just be for a preliminary check where they said the unit wasn't functioning and they'd need approval from the landlord to make the fix. Finally, a couple months ago, a new contractor came out and said the AC unit was completely broken, and maintenance claimed they would order a new unit and have it installed in no more than a couple weeks. I've been living here for a few years, and have been very tolerant of the litany of issues I've encountered - decreased parking access, poor maintenance quality, regular and maximum rent increases allowable under Santa Clara County law, etc., but this one broke the camel's back - I can't sleep, I struggle to work from home effectively, and importantly I have two fluffy cat's who are ill-equipped to deal with these temperatures. It's to the point now where I may need to drive them a few hundred miles to my parents' home until temperatures cool down. There is such a thing as tenants rights, and these temperatures are dangerous to a person's health. Please fix this.

Moved in in March and it's been Hell ever since. Donna the manager is a racist! She harassed my family and kicked them out of the pool (because apparently we pay to live here not the amenities) she has yet to reply to my email 2 months later! My apartment is calling apart since I moved in. My ac is on 24/7 but my house is always 8+degrees hotter my peg bill is $500 a month. They refuse to fix it. Blaming it on insulation issues. My fan has been broken for over a month they have yet to repair it. I can go on and on. Nonetheless this is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. The staff are completely unprofessional and racist!!! ALL IN ALL -DO NOT MOVE HERE !!!!! You will regret it unfortunately!!!!!!!!' Id give 0 stars if I could.

I wish I could write a better review but I'm so disappointed by what was previously a great place to rent. The buildings are quite dated and the updates that have been made are of the cheapest quality. The old carpeting in the buildings was replaced last year...we all thought what had been placed was the liner and the installation people would be returning to lay the actual carpet. No...the carpet is just that thin and it causes sound to reverberate through the halls. The vinyl flooring in some units is cheap quality and poorly installed, so that it's constantly lifting. They continue to permit cigarette smoking on patios and balconies, and public areas around the site, which means there's smoke coming in through the windows, patio/balcony doors, and vents, regardless of whether you smoke. The complex spent three years and a lot of money to update the property, with the pool and hot tub, bbq area, and clubhouse were all unavailable during this time. The big reveal after all the work reflected that the only thing changed for residents was a nicer bbq area. The pool and hot tub, and all the chaises, tables, and umbrellas are the same that have been there since my initial residency. The clubhouse, which is only open during the management's working hours (unless reserved for a private event), is gorgeous but the main change is a remodel of the office space. The management and facilities staff are the only people who use the "clubhouse," and in great part due to the hours it's accessible as well as the fact that whenever someone goes in there, it feels as if you're interrupting the office staff having their breaks, hanging out and snacking, etc. All the parking spots were redesignated this past year as "assigned" spots, in a clear attempt to increase income for the management company. Residents must pay an additional fee monthly to reserve a spot, covered or not, and there are virtually no unassigned spots for additional resident cars or guests. The office staff regularly "patrol" the parking area for parkers who aren't "registered" and when discovering someone, send an email blast to the entire community calling out the car's identifying details and threatening to have the vehicle towed within a certain number of minutes if it's not moved. During weekends, the Springwood staff tend to park in the spots reserved for "new residents." Management sends email frequently admonishing residents that they've "been told" they cannot have anything on their balconies/patios, hallways, lobbies, etc. as if the residents are young children. I don't like when people break rules meant to ensure people's enjoyment of their rented home either, but there's a way to do this respectfully and a way to make people feel bad. When there are problems with the laundry room machines, the office staff will not assist. The response is that they haven't been trained on how to use the equipment or its software and residents have to contact the vendor (which never seems to result in a response). A dryer has been non-functional for months but despite numerous requests, the management staff have done nothing to ensure that it's repaired or replaced. With only 4 washers and 4 dryers per building, having one out of order creates a difficult situation for residents trying to do their laundry. On the plus side, the maintenance staff are without exception friendly and responsive. The apartments are in a great location and the people living there are generally quite nice, but there are few amenities and the management staff sometimes make residents feel like interlopers.

Most of the apartments I found in San Jose are newer (which is fine!), but I wanted something with a more loft-y, artsy vibe to it. Twohy doesn't disappoint. The walls are super thick, too; I never heard my neighbors...only sounds from the street outside. Also, bonus: it's a small community, and management is very attentive and responsive. Everyone I ever met there was friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic. So much to walk to. Safeway's right there for groceries, plus tons of bars and food in all price ranges (from cheap mexican to expensive steakhouses) it's all right there! You also have a movie theater right next door and MUJI across the street, not to mention VTA literally right outside your front door. Amenity-wise, included in rent was a parking spot in the Safeway parking lot (not a guaranteed spot, but I never had to park on the street even during the busy Christmas season), a gym membership at the gym across the street, and water/sewage/garbage. There are no laundry hookups in-unit, but there is a laundry room in the basement which is nice. The units have a small but lovely kitchen with decent appliances and nice fixtures in the bathroom, wood floors (YAY), tall ceilings, and huge windows which means lots of light. It's not a huge space, but then again I didn't need much space, and preferred to live in a great area of town vs having a ton of room. Overall I adored living there. If my job hadn't taken me up to the north end of the bay, I wouldn't have left! I highly recommend Twohy to those looking for a unique space in downtown San Jose.

Overall the places are nicely remodeled with hardwood, high ceilings and big windows. Only problem is the windows are single pained, letting in a LOT of noise, especially on the VTA side. Another drawback is the TV situation. They are not wired for cable (comcast or ATT), dish network is available but wasnt wired down passed the 4th floor... and direcTV is available but NOT in HD...good grief! The rent is not cheap, i think the cheapest (when I moved in) was around $1280 and I believe that was with some discounts for a 12 month lease. However, my rent came with a Bally's membership (right across the street) and parking at the 2nd/San Carlos garage... not bad. If it wasn't so expensive I'd give it 4 stars. Add some dual pained windows and Comcast or ATT cable lines (or direcTV HD lines) and it could be 5 stars. Overall its ok, location is great but there are some drawbacks.

He then approached and harassed us, screaming about how we were trespassing, continuing verbal abuse and harassment and followed us until we left the property. We talked quietly, did not approach anyone, hang door tags, play music, or toss trash. We didn't go into the center apartment area. We're both computer professionals. This employee could have gotten on his golf cart and quietly told us sorry we cannot walk thru his parking lot and to kindly exit the premises. Meadows is very safe and it's also in a good location - it is right off of Central expressway and it's close to 237 and 101. Apartment was spacious as well. I also thought the gym was great and bigger than a lot of other apartment gyms so amenities as good here. There is a community pool as well. The management company was very responsive with service requests. We had an issue where the central AC was spewing out dead bugs so the maintenance team quickly came in and gave us a new AC. Meadows also hosts some events every couple months (coffee station, Easter egg hunt, food trucks, etc.) which made the apartment complex feel more like a community. One of the drawbacks about this complex is the lack of natural light in the some of the apartments. Because of all the tall redwood trees and the direction of our apartment, we didn't get much light. For the most part, we had our lamps turned on all the time. And because of the trees, leaves would fall into our balcony so we had to frequently clean that up. We decided to leave once the lease was up as we found a place with more natural light closer to our offices and meadows was going to increase the rent by $250 a month. If it wasn't for the light situation, probably would have continued to stay here. Overall I enjoyed living here, and if you are ok with less natural light or you are able to get an apartment facing the right direction, then I recommend!
