A very cute boutique. Higher end yet found something 50% off. My low amount of stars is because of the utter lack of service or hospitality. Upon entering this small shop the sales person could not be bothered to lift her head to say hello. Throughout my entire visit she did not check in to see if I needed assistance and I was the only customer. After reading other reviews I see this is a consistent comment/complaint. Stopping into Willow Grove Consignment during our Sausalito stroll I found they had some great pieces and wonderful prices. Their general age range felt about 20's+ and while it seems like they aren't seasonal (only buying for Summer/Fall, etc), I tend to buy if I like something, and not how quickly I'm going to wear it, so I fell in love with a couple of their beautiful fall sweaters and one of their adorable wooden purses. Unfortunately, with how hot it was outside, I just didn't fall in love enough to want to carry the items while we browsed downtown Sausalito. I love this little shop. Hollis, the owner has such great taste and keeps up with the current styles (not to mention the seasons!). I can always duck in and come out with an amazing piece. Last year I got one of my favorite dresses, an Etoile Isabel Marant, which I have worn so much. Another time I stopped in to drop off some clothes to consign and came out with a cozy cashmere hoodie and a pair of new (or almost new) Lululemon shorts. You can always find top designers, as well as clothes and accessories that are the latest or even cool and vintage. Hollis really curates a nice collection of items. If you are interested in consigning, you can ask her in advance about which types of items she is currently looking for (winter, fall, jeans, etc.). Willow Grove is such a fun place to wander into. I have had a good experience both as a customer and consigner. I came in with a bag full of items. Not all of them were taken, but the owner was kind in telling me which ones could not sell. She offers Venmo as a way to pay her consigners so you can get your money quickly. Here's what Hollis, the owner, does that makes her stand out: she doesn't donate items until she contacts you several times - many other places rely on you to follow up with them. When I dropped off my items, I ended up buying two dresses and a knit top. They are super cute and I've enjoyed wearing them. The woman was following us around the tiny store, which made no sense because again, the store is small. We got dirty looks as I was trying on clothes and she even told my boyfriend he wasn't allowed to be in a certain area. Save your money. Shop somewhere else. read more

Hello Hollis, It pains me to have to provide an additional update that does not have a happier resolution. But after reading your response, in which you attempted to belittle our experience in your store, here I am. I'm appalled at this attempt to write off our experience by calling my comments "unwarranted," and insinuating that both of us are mistaken in our perception of your actions. This misinformation on your behalf is very telling. This interaction offended me so much that I went out of my own comfort zone to document it publicly, knowing that a response like this was a possibility. Black and brown voices often get silenced in this way, by making them out to be the aggressor or making them look crazy for speaking up. Your comments do not demonstrate to me that you are sincere in your apology. I see the larger issue here now is that you do not value black/brown voices. I will not be told that I misunderstood, when I very well do understand what it feels like to be treated differently for the way that I look. Your behavior was unacceptable. Your tone, nor the way you barked out the command, was anything close to polite. Let me remind you, you decided not to interact with us prior while we were browsing. A simple "hello, we do not require mask but practice safe distancing," would have been a very easy thing to do. In all likeliness we would have put on our mask that were visible from the other stores we browsed and respected the rules of your business.Also, my phone wasn't in play at all when you engaged with me. Since you decided to only engage with us with your passive aggressive actions, the two of us tried to make you comfortable (which we shouldn't have to in your store as patrons) by striking up a conversation about your wares and the two jackets we were looking to purchase. While my partner was in the room trying on clothes, I checked my phone while at a safe distance by the shoes, away from the display (that you were not working at the time) and you. When my partner stepped out to show off the jacket, both of us were shocked when we heard the words come out of your mouth. I ask, in an empty store, what sense does it make for you to be rude to your only two customers at the time, just to work a display you were no where near prior to us heading to the fitting room area? Had you been working it prior and I was in your way, a simple excuse me and my own common sense would have easily remedied the situation. I'm perfectly fine if you feel that the best experience for customers is giving them space to shop. I did however watch you interact with another customer without the distance and in a much more positive tone. I also have nothing to gain from lying, nor does my partner. I hope you take a moment to read through this and take it as an opportunity to learn from. I have no doubt that there will be other black/brown patrons you will come across in the future and I hope you treat them better as a result. Thank you read more

Day trip to Sausalito and parked near here and thought I'd check it out. Walked in was not greeted. Ok whatever. Started looking around. Saw a couple of cute things that I wanted to try on but the woman behind the counter couldn't be bothered. A another woman (who didn't look like me) came in and was immediately helped, found a few things and was offered to try on. I quickly realized I was not going to be held. There were a few items that I probably would've bought but this store will not get my money. I should've read the other reviews before going in and saved my time. The saleswoman was rude from the beginning of my interaction with her. She told me wait outside I need to clean the doorway. This was a demand not nicely said. I waited then asked after she left the doorway if it was ok to come in. She said quickly yes. She ignored me and never said hello. She acted like I was an inconvenience being in her store. When another woman was there from the nearby salon she was all smiles and kindness. If you don't appear rich, they will be rude to you. It was extremely short sighted of her. My partner and I came in yesterday afternoon and we're not greeted or acknowledged the entire time we were in the store by the woman working behind the counter. She did however give us a dirty look as soon as we walked in. She was also was very helpful and warm to the other women shopping who looked more like her. There seems to be a common theme when shopping at this store based on my experience and Dom's review below. Willow Grove is a gift to our little town. I am so delighted that it has opened up - it is a refreshing change from the T-shirt shops or expensive boutiques in the touristy section of town. The owner has created a bright and inviting space that makes you want to slow down your pace of shopping. I have been delighted with my purchases and was happy that she also accepted some consignments that I brought in. Last week when I was there I purchased a Patagonia Puffer jacket that I have had my eye on in REI. It was the exact size and color and the price was a fraction of what I would have paid retail. With the fog rolling in, I have been wearing it all week. Today I purchased the cutest pair of shorty boots that feel like slippers on my feet. She has high end clothes, many are casual for the post-pandemic wardrobe ;) Parking is easy - there is metered parking in front or timed free parking around the corner on Caledonia Street.
