Beautiful day being a tourist and making memories. Loved all the vintage pieces. Faran was so helpful and knowledgeable. Helped us pick out something nice. Would definitely come back when visiting again.

I dropped off a sapphire and diamond band/ring on January 1 to replace two sapphires that had loosened and fallen out of the band. I was promised the ring back on 1/11. While I was at the store, the saleswoman Sarah and another older gentlemen were very aggressive on selling me diamond earring studs. I tried a few on, but was not there to purchase diamonds. They kept pushing, bargaining prices. I noticed that a few of the diamonds were different sizes from their other counterpart and did not trust their quality or craftsmanship. I left the store with my husband to our car in the parking lot a block from the store. The older man from the store ran after me trying to make a deal, saying they would sell me the diamond earrings at a discount and give me the ring repair complimentary for $4200. He even wrote in the back of my service ticket for the ring and said he would honor the price when I returned to pick up the ring. My husband and I had very bad tastes in our mouths from this experience. What high end jeweler makes deals selling diamonds in a parking lot? Why is he chasing me down the street? At this point, I felt regretful leaving my ring with them. Fast forward, I called the store on 1/10 to see when I could pick up on 1/11. They shared it's not ready and would take longer bc they did not have the right color sapphires to add to the ring. I finally received a call on 1/17 that the ring was ready. Upon pick up, I noticed that the two sapphires added were different colors, obvious to the naked eye. One was very dark and the other very light - not matching the other stones. They said they could redo the ring acknowledging the color difference, but I of course don't trust them to do so. Why would they even feel Comfortable giving this ring back to me in this condition? After some debate, the store was only able to offer me 25% off, which I accepted. As I was leaving, the older man who chased me down the parking lot said condescendingly with a laugh, "you seem very nervous". And I said "I'm not nervous, I'm disappointed and pissed". He continued to berate me, and I reminded him that he tried to barter diamond earrings with me in a parking lot like a desperate used car salesman. This shop is total amateurish, does not take their work or inventory seriously, and are classless and patronizing. I do not recommend.

To say I'm *obsessed* with this family owned store would be putting it lightly...!! Like many others reviewers here, my friends and I stumbled across this store on a Sunday afternoon and the staff. could. not. have. been. nicer!! The people: * kind AF. Like really. Not even the tiniest bit in that salesy way. Just genuinely helpful and nice. It's shocking. * experts in their craft. * beyond knowledgeable about vintage, Art Deco watches and jewelry. * passionate about the history of their items. * not at all salesy or pushy. * so patient. I am as indecisive as they come (can provide reference upon request) and they patiently showed me every piece I wanted to see (and more!!) The store: * filled with so many hidden gems (pun intended). * great selection of unique pieces you will not find anywhere else. * conveniently located across the beautiful SF bay. * naturally well lit store so you can see each piece shine and sparkle as they would "in the wild"... unlike other jewelry stores where the piece only shine under bright LED lights. In summary... I had not intended to buy anything, just some light window shopping... and I ended up walking out with 3 amazing finds!! They provided all the proper appraisals so you know they stand by their items. A must see if you are ever in the Sausalito area!

This place is great. Called before to get a necklace repaired and they were super kind. Then when we went in they were super nice and ended up fixing my necklace for free, and polished my ladies ring as well. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone coming down to Sausalito!

Extremely rude owner, my wife literally walked out. Pricing was so seat of the pants I wouldn't trust this jeweler and my uncle was one.

When she'd tried it on in the store, it was a perfect fit. Several months later when I proposed, the ring was literally 2.5 sizes too big (she'd clearly had inflammation from the travel, heat, etc. when she tried it on). We also noticed one of the diamonds was ever so slightly loose. We were told by some that it was impossible to size down. I was extremely worried about american jewelers damaging or ruining the ring. The antique gold, the placement of the diamonds, everything was too complicated. Thank goodness we got the recommendation to go to Sausalito jewelers. Their in house jeweler, Paulo, is Italian and holds master jeweler certification from Florence. He did an absolutely perfect restoration. He brought it down over 2 sizes, he gave it a gentle polish, and he was able to adjust the loose ring. He did this work without in any way changing or distorting the original look or shape of the ring. I cannot tell you how happy we are with it. Also, huge shout out to Sam and Aida who work there, did the consultation with us, and who are always willing to give our pup, Pax, a treat. I cannot give enough compliments or thanks to this team.

I looked at it and did not see a price on the item. I decided to leave and then I met Simon on the way out. He asked if anything interested me. I asked him if he could let me know the price of the amethyst. He opened the cabinet and let me look at the piece. He said for you ... it's $$$. He was funny and full of character. The price was okay. The service was great. A short conversation later, I decided to pick it up. The store has a treasure trove type vibe. Full of antiques and interesting items for sale. Most items do not have prices on them so buyer beware. You need to have some knowledge of what you will pay for items before you enter. I was not sure what I was getting myself into or what I even wanted, but knew it would be non traditional and unique. He spent time looking at my inspiration pics and "pulled me out of the ether," regarding what was and was not feasible. Was able to use a diamond from each of my grandmothers' wedding rings. He was transparent about the cost throughout, provided education on different jewels with thoughtfulness around important specifics I would not know to ask about; ease of cleaning, shades of gold, size of my hand, finger webbing, how settings and light will impact my choices, factors that influence longevity and maintenance. He was mindful to not insert his opinion outside of the structural capacity of my ideas, despite my requests. He searched and found different stones for me to see in person, much faster than I imagined was possible. At The final appt before the ring was built, he created wax version of the ring. I was initially concerned due to size/bulkiness, though he walked me through the details of how it would look differently upon completion which put me at ease. The ring was created with subtle details that he learned through our appointments about me; he specifically balanced diamonds on the band to support straight alignment in relation to my specific finger webbing (with only measuring my ring size and eyeballing my hand), "you can go rock climbing in this thing." Overall, this was a special experience I shared with my mother and finance in my home town. I will return for cleanings and highly recommend this place. My mother also had multiple items resized and repaired with prompt and beautiful results. The entire staff was kind and personable. They engaged intermittently along the way with their past personal and professional experience with different stones, designs, jewelers... After our first visit, I was just not sure if I was on the right track in part due to my severe indecisiveness, but all visits after that confirmed this was the right place to be and I am in love with the result. My fiancé was also pleased and appreciated the level of involvement that was asked of him, lol.

The watch, which had multiple gold components including an inner cover, was discussed but ultimately folded into the overall estimate without being separately accounted for. The explanation given for its lower value focused on a "broken crystal," which does not materially affect the scrap value of a gold case, where weight and karat are the primary factors. I was paid approximately $400 for the watch. Without seeing weights or a transparent calculation, I've since found it difficult to reconcile that figure with what a multi-component 14k gold case would reasonably represent. I would strongly recommend that anyone selling gold ask to see weights and a clear breakdown before agreeing to a final price.
