Great service and the food was promptly served. The waitress was really nice, and explained the menu with great detail when we asked. I had the chicken Caesar wrap with seasoned fries, and added fresh slice avocado and it was delicious. I also tried the creamy lemon soup and it was just perfect. I went to the Willow Hill Restaurant for the first time today and had the best experience ever! The staff was very pleasant and accommodating...that was only the beginning. I ordered the Athenian chicken with mixed veggies preceded by a garden salad with house dressing. It was absolutely beautifully presented, generous and delicious. You might say,"Why are you making such a big deal with such a simple order?" Well, earlier this week I had basically the same order at another very over priced Greek restaurant in Lombard....it could not compare to the quality of food prepared at the Willow Hill!! I will be coming back for the quality and deliciousness ( not to mention the wonderful staff) at Willow Hill. I left the Greek Island disappointed and hungry.... Food was to be expected, had the eggs and sausage, decent. Service was very good, attentive. BUT BE AWARE...THEY CHARGE THE 3.5% on cc or dc payments AFTER THE FACT. What the heck has happened to what used to be a wonderful restaurant? The menu has changed a lot, the prices have gone way up, many many choices of chicken dishes for sure, soups of the day are now on different days of the week and clearly don't even taste the same. Oh and pay even more if using a credit or debit card...huh???? Supposedly will now be hosting happy hours without a sit down bar or even sports on the tv's....again....huh???? Stopped in for dinner with my son. Very pleasantly surprised, staff was friendly and attentive. I had a Chicken Kiev dinner with a fresh dinner salad, homemade lentil soup, Kiev with fluffy rice. First time visiting and not the best experience. Ordered banana foster pancakes and received packages covered in nuts, strawberries and bananas. When is asked the waitress she said that's how we make them. I am allergic to strawberries and that is why I specifically asked. Folks, save your money & go elsewhere. Since new owners have taken over in the past month or so, this place has taken a definite downward spiral, in food choices, quality, & cleanliness. No more daily specials, 5 soups, etc. The only thing that has gone up is price. It's very obvious that they are shifting to the pancake house (7Am-3Pm) very soon, as their dinner menu had only 10 selections & 7 of them are chicken-something. No steaks, no chops. But there are almost 3 pages of breakfast meals as well as another 3 in sandwiches. At 5:45pm we are one of 3 couples in there, so I'm guessing the word is out. The food was good but not great. I agree with another reviewer about price. I was not expecting to pay $40.00 including tip for lunch. However, the portions were big. I got a sausage omelette which I rarely order. It needed flavor (seasoning salt - which I used when I got home). I also got a full order of French toast. My boyfriend ordered the Greek spaghetti. He loved it. It came with a bowl, not a cup, of soup. The chicken and rice soup was good but it did not have a lot of chicken. We also enjoyed the bread basket. Big rolls but not great rolls. When you walk in, there isn't any host there to seat you. You have to wait till a server sits you. Has happened frequently. Decor looks as if someone painted the wall in pepto-bismo pink and such bright colors on the wall not very calming or comfortable. Looks like a childs room. The servers don't seem to care about how your food comes out. We had to send our food back due to eggs overdone, hashbrowns burnt and dried out when asked for light hashbrowns. Toast was not toasted as requested and had to send them back. Asked for Hot water and the pots leaked. Had to wait for a server to come around to request more water. Make sure you check your ticket, they tried charging Tea for the hotwater. This is not the first time this has occurred.plus the prices have increased but the quality of food has gone down!! Thought we would try again to give them a chance. Probably won't be going back there again and wouldn't recommend for a Breakfast place. Its Sad, used to be a great neighborhood place to go to. It's your average diner that you can pretty much grab anything from their variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner options. At first when we arrived, we were offered the lunch menu since we came a tad bit after breakfast but we were given the breakfast menu upon request which came with a variety of items. For myself, I had the farmer's market skillet with sunny side up eggs and a side of banana pancakes with just an up charge of $1! My wife told me about the negative reviews ever since they switched owners. Unfortunately we found out exactly how bad this place had become. Placed our dinner order at 6:00. Waiter told me that one of our items would take 30 minutes. I had to get my sister to DTLG for the 7:03 train back to the city so I thought it would be fine. By 6:45, I asked the waiter to make out dinners to go. Waited another 5 minutes and no food so I left the boys behind and took my sister to the train. Ten minutes to DTLG and 10 more to get back to the restaurant. The boys told me that they had just brought out the to go orders (7:15 at this point). I told the waiter that the evening was a complete wash, that there was no excuse for us to have waited an hour and 15 minutes for our food, and that there was no communication on his behalf for why the food was taking forever. He told us that the cook prepared the 30 minute item and then started other tickets and had to play catch up with the rest of our dinners. We don't intend on ever going back. read more

We recently moved into the general area. We went for breakfast a few times and it was okay. We noticed a charge for using your credit card of over 3% which was a surprise. Last 2 visits, I complained about the amount of grease in the hash browns. I sent it back to the kitchen once and it was still overly greasy. Upon leaving and paying the check, I commented that the hash browns were too greasy. The cashier said absolutely nothing. Not, sorry or I will advise the manager or anything.
