    Picnic Shelter

We rented their "Pavilion" for $150, and when we got there, it was filthy, needed cleaning, had the worst picnic tables in the whole park, and had no sides or lights. We were expecting 50 people for a family reunion, and it was forecasted for rain most of the day unfortunately for us The park manager refused to let us hang tarps on the sides (however, there was staples and holes everywhere!) and their only comment was "well, that's Ohio for you". When all the children were crying because of hiding under the picnic shelter because of thunder and lightning from a severe storm, they refused to let us move some stuff into the really nice large lighted pavilion near by. We took the children to their game room, but were not welcome in the large pavilion area. A late comer family member had some food in her hands and the staff blatantly stated "oh you can't bring any food in here!" It stopped raining, and the event ended up very nice as the children got to swim in the pool and play on the beach. It was great seeing our family, but the rudeness of the staff was not called for. They cleaned the grill, but it did not have a top so we couldn't grill in the rain. They swept the floors, but there were still a lot of bird droppings all over the floor and dilapidated tables. I was highly disappointed and would have never paid so much for the shelter if I had seen it in advance.

New owners have been putting a lot of work into it. Bingo on Fri and a band on Sat. Family friendly. Worth checking out.

The camping grounds were mainly RVs and Campers but plenty of people camped with tents too. Overall the park is very family & dog friendly and there is electricity on some sites. The grounds are huge and there are tons of places to walk and hike. There are Decent amenities with showers and bathrooms with stalls, and sinks with running water. The sites each have a picnic table and fire circle, some are shaded and some are mostly sunny. The owners drive around a golf cart all day making sure everything is going well for everyone. The rules are 2 cars per site but there is easy parking not far from the sites for any other cars. Quiet times seem to be from 10/11pm - 7/8am. But generally where we camped it was quiet for most of the time! We were on site 235 and had another site across the street that was on a path, and the RACCOONS are savage. They came within 5 feet of us with no hesitation but we put away food so we didn't lose anything crucial. Overall it was a great place to take kids and enjoy a weekend away! Being from medina, the drive is about 35 minutes, so it was easy getting to and from the park. I would absolutely return to hike, canoe, or paddle-board. I recommend visiting if you need a weekend away!

We probably could've stayed in the cabins and still pay way less than any hotels around town. I could not believe how close this was to CP. We literally turn out of the KOA and was at the light where the giant sign is in less than 60 seconds. The grounds were clean and our spot was very centrally located and it has a paved patio, a gliding bench, built it fire-pit, table with chairs and umbrella. We were easily able to come back to the campsite in the middle of our trip to eat lunch then go back instead of paying $20 for hot dog and fries, which was another big plus. I was also super impressed with the amenities. It has a pickleball court, which I've never seen before but definitely worth noting. Because it's one of their Halloween weekends, they had trick or treating, a mini carnival games thing that sells food and include games like tire toss where you're tossing heads into the tires, etc. At night, after it got dark, they literally set up a haunted house, which apparently was pretty awesome. I stayed back to watch the dogs, but I could definitely hear screams and clowns banging on some metal barrels and made it pretty legit. Being October, their 2 pools were obviously done, but there were 2 pools! We're definitely staying there again when we go back.

I normally stay in my own camper for 10 days plus this trip was only three nights so I decided to to not bring a camper and stay in one of there tiny homes... first one key for three adults ! Patio furniture was absolutely filthy, bedroom door wouldn't latch and would not stay closed vent in bathroom leaks when raining hard .. it's over the toilet so just opened lid and it dripped in toilet. Shower was small no night stands or anything in bedrooms other than linens. Worst part one key !! Got separated from group in complete downpour and stood outside of tiny home waiting for them in the rain . Asked office if they had another key or could let me in I was told No .. disappointed to say the least. I would recommend staying in your own camper here

The first night we stayed the people by us stayed up till 3 am blaring awful rap music (which I like but not for my 4year old) someone else had a fart noise on a speaker all night and didn't stop till 4 am. Not once did anyone from the camp come over to tell anyone to quit down. The people next to us weren't watching their kids and their kids ended up at our site playing which was fine, but no parents were watching their kids which is crazy in this day in age. The next day the same people were doing drugs in their car and everyone in their party was going in and out of the car. Kids all over who swear and have no adult supervision. It's extremely disgusting, annoying and just upsetting this place was like this. We were supposed to stay Sunday too but we left early bc it was so bad.

Went to take a shower after a long drive -- NO HOT WATER. I called the office to complain. Someone came to "fix", but after waiting a couple of hours after I was told it was "fixed", there was still NO hot water. Early in the morning, I tried again..... still none. Bathroom facilities by the laundry area were locked. Washers in facility were dirty. NO Amenities as advertised. NO free wifi. We checked out after not being able to shower. Basically paid $88.50 for a night's stay (Electric hookup only). Asked to get half of my money back, for the night we did stay. Reimbursement for this was never made.

The road to get to the campground was winding and very dark but when we arrived we saw a beautiful campground with paved spots. There are no amenities with only a vault toilet and water pump. Here are trash bins, fire rings, and picnic tables at each site, plus a well-blazed trail edging the campground. There are pit toilets in the center of the ring that do smell like free campground pit toilets, but they are far enough from the campsites that you'll be okay even on a hot summer day, especially if you're a ping with a self-contained unit. Our site had a great mix of field and tree cover with raspberries or other bramble fruits lining the campground. Hummingbirds, cardinals, nuthatches, and a concert of fireflies were fun to watch. The free part is especially good since there are pigeon, rifle, and handgun target ranges outside the camp loop, and you do hear them even on a Monday. And first thing Tuesday morning. This is a dry campground in every way so bring your own water. If you aren't target practicing, use your red cup and don't act like a rookie. About half the sites were in use the Monday night we stayed. Despite the ballistic sounds, the camp loop was quiet, and we had a very restful stay.
