It's one of the few gas stations in Hoboken, located on 13th and Willow. They are a small service station with a few fuel pumps. Dirty little building and all, the station is a quick place to grab gas when you need it or a quick fix on your vehicle. I've only ever been here for gas and it's been fine. read more

The battery I got from AAA was also dying after only 2 years so I took my old Lexus here to have a look. I also needed oil change and tire rotation and it was getting tiring to take this old car to the dealer up in Englewood for service and have them charged me arm and a leg for it, so I had them done here. They called me up and said the battery couldn't be recharged. They put in a new one (Diebold?) and the cost was comparable to other places. The cost for oil change and tire rotation ended up to be lower than what they quoted me over the phone (which was comparable to market to begin with). This place is close to me and I was able to drop it off and came back a few hours later to pick it up. So all in all good experience. read more

I have taken all three of my cars here for minors repairs, like flats tune ups etc. I have never encountered an issue with them and know if parts are needed they order OEM parts which tend to be more expensive. They will allow you to order your own parts and just charge you for the service. They are always very nice and tend to stick with the estimate, if not they always call to ask before performing additional work. read more

Starting using the sunoco for repairs on my previous Acura TL that was out of manufacturer warranty. Repairs at the Acura dealer were on average twice what sunoco charged. They are a great bunch of guys (Meer is the owner) and always honest about repairs needed. The building may look a little disheveled on first look but their work is impeccable. Biggest rip off ever. Please do not go here. Went here for lower ball joint/rim/axle fix. Was a fairly expensive job but they said they fixed my hood for me for free (without me asking)(my hood bounced up and down very slightly maybe 1/2 an inch for at least 5 years prior whenever I drove). Was this way for years but it was fine and if they didn't just fix it on their own I wouldn't have even had it fixed. So the very next time I was driving on the highway my "fixed" hood blew open on me leaving me slamming on the brakes on the GWB and having to tie my hood shut with rope as it was completely broken. Ended up bringing it back and having to pay full price for the parts and labor for another fairly expensive job. The very day I picked it up from this second job my power steering was completely not working from the minute I left the shop. This time I brought it to a different shop after finally having enough. They told me the rod and pin in the steering column was completely destroyed leaving my power steering completely disabled even though it was completely fine when I dropped it off at Willow Sunoco. Was advised it would cost at least $600 to fix........couple thousand dollars later here I am leaving my first Yelp review ever. My car was overheating. They could have just done the repair. Instead, they called me back, told me what was needed, and told me that my warranty probably covered it. Obviously, they don't get paid for that. So, they saved me $750. When I called them to let them know that the dealership would be picking up the car, they indicated that I owed them $75 for their time (very fair). They said they "trusted me", although I had never met them before, and said to come in whenever to pay. In a world of poor service, this entire experience was incredible. read more

I'm not sure it's fair to call this place a scam, because that doesn't do it justice. They actually refused to give me my key back for less than $75. I decided to not get work done, so without saying anything up front, they felt giving me an estimate was worth $75. Not even actually sure that's legal (thankfully I have a spare key). This is my go to place. I have been here when I had my old toyota camry and now with my new ford focus. They are always fair with the pricing, take care of it in a timely manner, and go the extra mile. I read some other reviews about them trying to find extra issues, but I've never had this happen. I was told to come back for an oil change at 8am the next day. I arrived promptly at 8 and when asking if I could pick my car up at 3pm or earlier for an OIL CHANGE, they replied that they were so busy it would take until at least 6pm. 10 hours for an oil change. I asked to speak to the shop mgr who indicated "he had enough business" and didn't need mine. Wow thanks local business owner. Great way to treat your local residents. read more

I don't get what others are complaining about either. This place is the only one I trust to service my car. Owned for many years by a guy named Mir who is so nice and trustworthy. Their prices are absolutely fair and when they say they'll fix your car they really do. Excellent diagnosticians! They don't try to sell you extra stuff either. Only down side is they are VERY busy so don't expect to get the service on the spot. But they tell you the best time to come back to get it done. read more

BEWARE of Willow Sunoco! Took my car there to have a tire changed. They said I needed to have my brakes replaced...rotors and pads. They wanted to charge me $700+ I took the car to the dealer and they informed me the brakes were fine. Apparently, they pull this with a lot of their customers. Very dishonest. COMPLETE RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tried to charge me over a hundred dollars for LABOR to fix my antennae, so I said, NO NO, let me do the "labor" myself. All I had to do was screw the new antennae into the base. It took about 2 seconds and required no skill whatsoever. Could have been out $100 easily if I hadn't stopped them. TERRIBLE, AWFUL. I also asked them to change all my fluids. My check engine light was still on so I went to gas station nearby and they told me all my levels were low on fluids. They were very helpful. I got a flat a few months ago and one of my headlights had been out for a couple days. The price to replace the tire and headlight was extremely reasonable. They got it done within a couple hours and they are open late, so you can pick you car up until 10. Great service! read more

I have been going to Willow Sunoco for about 10 years and feel they have provided exceptional service. The manager, Mir, is super-polite, as are all the mechanics. They give speedy estimates, charge fair prices, and do good work completed in a timely manner. And perhaps the best thing: you can pick up the car anytime; as they are a gas station and open very late (maybe around the clock?) you can come over late and there's always someone you can pay and get the keys from. read more

We went here to get a simple oil change (early a.m.). They were swamped, asked us to leave the car and that it'd be ready by 5pm. We returned at 5pm and they said it would take another 3 hours at least. No phone call to let us know. We spent a whole day and did not get what we wanted (an oil change) accomplished. I don't know where the negative reviews on this page come from, but I have known these guys for over 15 years living in Hoboken. They are my go-to for everything including inspections. They have gone out of their way to save me money and avoid spending when it could be avoided. When the bil was inevitably high (such as a worn CV boot which cracked from age and non-use) they gave me a break. These guys are honest. They know me by name and sight and are always polite and courteous. I have nothing but praise and have never had a repair done incorrectly. The only minor issue has been once or twice not getting my car back on the day I expected because a part they ordered did not arrive on time. Roll with the punches. Five stars. read more

We've been taking various cars to Meer for a long time. He's pretty good. I don't know any auto repair shop anywhere that's really *great*; I've never encountered that in my life. But I don't understand the reviews saying Meer is expensive. He's very reasonable for routine work, way lower than a car dealer, especially luxury car dealers. When our luxury car was newer we took it to the dealer and paid the arm and leg, for the peace of mind, and we do even now for maintenance intervals with major checks. But for regular maintenance and for regular/older cars this is a reliable shop, in our experience. read more
