TL;DR: Go to another dealership. The salesmen here (Cliff, Johnny, Ramin, Roger, Jino) are sharks and very exhausting to deal with, and deceptive sales tactics. Only come here if you know exactly what you want and can bargain hard. Otherwise, they'll over sell you and rush you into payment.
For context, I (27F) was on the market for my very first (new) car purchase and was doing (a lot of) research, looking at cars at various dealerships. I visited this location after a long 5 hr morning of volunteering at an animal shelter only intending to look at cars and ask about pricing since it was on my way home.
I looked into the Nissan Kicks and test-drove the SV. When I asked about the lower S trim, the rep said it was "basically the exact same except for a few small features," then claimed he couldn't show me the lower trim but I believed him and figured saving ~$2,300 was worth it if it was the same. Spoiler: it wasn't. (Also when we met, the first thing he asked me was whether I'd been to other Nissan dealerships--a question that, in hindsight, was clearly to gauge how inexperienced I might be).
After the test drive, when enquiring pricing (something I did at all the dealerships I visited), the rep quoted me over $40K for the S trim. I said it was too high, and only after some negotiation, he dropped it to $36,800, which still seemed wrong but I didn't care cuz I wanted to go home. I was exhausted, but trying to be polite I sat through his rambling about his life (medical exams, his son, his age, etc.) until he suddenly pressured me into a deposit--even though I'd only planned to look that day. Too tired to process what was happening, I gave in - unable to register what happened until I was home.
The next day, I checked other dealerships. All quoted ~$36,300 for the Kicks S. Realizing the rep. inflated the price, I felt taken advantage of, as though he saw that i was very new to the scene. He had also promised "free oil changes" and "free FOB replacement," which turned out to be meaningless because they give oil changes to everyone (according to the reviews here) and FOB replacement isn't even optional. Predator vibes.
I returned with my mom to negotiate and got the price down to $36,159. When we asked to see the car again, he brushed us off, so she only got to see the demo SV unit but it was locked, so it left my mom unsatisfied (she'll also be using the car).
On pickup day, the rep. rushed mom and I through the car viewing without letting us properly inspect it or discuss it. The car also had obvious dirt stains and my mom had to ask why it wasn't cleaned. In finance, Johnny spent over an hr pushing extended warranties. I repeatedly asked what the manufacturer warranty included, and he dodged with scare tactics about "needing more coverage because you never know what might happen", etc. Only when his monitor flashed "Platinum 3-year" did I see I already had full coverage. More evasive sales tactics.
When I finally drove home, I was IMMEDIATELY UNHAPPY. The car felt NOTHING like what was promised. The wheels made weird slicing noises, buttons were loose, and the engine stuttered a lot on start. It felt like they gave me the bottom of the barrel. I called the rep to say I wasn't happy; he promised to "see what he could do" but never followed up.
The next day I returned with my sister seeking solutions. As expected, they didn't care. This dealership values money over customer satisfaction. They threw us from manager to manager, wasting over 5 hours of our time only to tell us that they can't do anything for us unless we pay the price. read more
