When I calmly told him that women should be treated better, he became aggressive and started arguing with me loudly, including switching to Spanish and escalating the confrontation. Despite this behavior, I still attempted to leave a tip afterward, which he refused while telling me not to use the bathroom again. Nothing physically dangerous happened, but the experience felt sexist, unwelcoming, and inappropriate, especially for a space that is supposed to be inclusive. Azucar isn't located near much of anything else when it comes to nightlife, it's a bit divey - definitely nothing fancy or glamorous, and it's probably not worth the drive from the beach just to check it out, as at least one other reviewer mentioned. Also, all shows and entertainment, aside from lyrics to a few songs here and there are in Spanish with no English translation, so if you don't speak Spanish or have someone who can interpret at least some of the funniest bits that get the most laughs, you may not fully understand what's happening or may feel a bit left out.
