I literally had to stop into one of the locations so I could make an appointment, which should have been a red flag for me. MISS: I had my eyes checked at W/E early 2025 and was given a new prescription for glasses. I only saw the Dr for 5 seconds so he could tell me I needed cataract surgery, everything else was done by a young apathetic technician. I had the glasses made at Costco and they immediately felt wrong. Costco rechecked them said they were to the prescription and sent me back to W/E. W/E checked that the glasses were to the prescription, had a recheck eye test done and said they were correct and I had to get used to them. Tried and tried as I might, I gave up trying to wear the new glasses after extended periods of feeling like I was disoriented in a house of mirrors and went back to the old ones. This year, 2026, I went to my previous place and had my eyes checked and my prescription this year was similar to the last one they did in 2024. I told them I went to W/E last year, 2025, and I was not able to use the glasses. They told me the script from W/E was wrong. I sent all the documents and receipts and copies of prescriptions from the last 3 years to W/E to ask for reimbursement since they gave me the wrong prescription and I can't use the glasses but they declined saying they stand by their erroneous eye exam. Also, during my current eye exam I inquired about the state of the cataracts that were supposedly such an emergency and was told there was no need to have any surgery since they aren't advanced enough for removal. HIT: I did have eyelid surgery to fix my peripheral vision at their surgical center which was not seamless but a better experience than the optical side of the business. They had a difficult time starting the IV and an anesthesiologist had to come out after I requested a Dr to put it in since 4 attempts by the nurses were unsuccessful and I was losing my patience after 3 attempts in my hands. The surgery was fine, I had some concerning issues a few days later and getting through on the phone, and through the endless phone chain, is awful and you still have to leave a message even on the after hours surgery line and wait for someone to call back. I had to have an additional revision in the office after some healing time but that was smooth and now that everything is healed. W/E does not call to see how you are doing after surgery. I have had several outpatient surgeries in the past and the doctors' offices called and followed up several times post surgery before the first post surgical visit. At W/E you feel like you are discharged and on your own with no safety net. BOTTOM LINE: I am not a fan. I told the head of the optical department I would never come back. I will stick to my current eyeglass provider and when/if the time comes for cataract surgery, I will find a place where I feel like a priority.

I called back Monday was told they would call me back they never did finally reached my eye dr in wilmington eye mart and got checked today as it turned out i had infection in my right eye because the triage team there did not give me enough drops . I apparently had not healed up completely so my eye dr gave me drops which we had to fork out money for them at our drug store!!!!! Their system is broken and relies totally on AI to help people.

Yesterday the first eye procedure was done & I just couldn't wait to say what a positive experience this has been for me. I am extremely near sighted with astigmatism and have worn pretty thick glasses or contacts 24/7 since I was a child. It is unbelievable to be going about my daily activities today not needing them - and this is with only one eye done. Everything about this practice is top-shelf but Dr. Harris' professionalism & absolute dedication to helping her patients realize their best possible vision utilizing the very latest precision technology is exceptional. The tagline on their literature says "We treat all our patients like family." and that couldn't be more true. She has given me the best Christmas gift I ever received. I had an appointment for an eye exam with Chad Tisdale, Optometrist. I requested that my eyes not…read morebe dilated due to the fact that I could not drive home (an hour away) safely if my eyes were dilated. I only have vision in one eye and have limited peripheral vision and depth perception. Therefore, driving is already difficult enough without dilation. Upon requesting that my eyes not be dilated, I was told that Chad was a "stickler" about dilation and I would need to be rescheduled. Mind you, I was never told that there was a "dilation requirement" when I scheduled the appointment. After speaking with a supervisor, I was told the same thing. I asked to speak with Chad. From there, things went from bad to worse. Chad walked into the exam room and asked in a rude tone; "What's the problem?" He never said "Hello" nor did he introduce himself. I explained my concerns about driving home safely and he said that I could reschedule and come back when I had someone to drive me. I explained that I had an eye doctor for over 20 years who respected my request to not be dilated due to my safety when driving. Chad replied: "Maybe he is a better doctor than me." Needless to say, the office could have requested my records from my previous eye doctor in CT, but clearly the practice doesn't care about my well being, my vision or my safety. Chad said that he had a solution. He asked me to reschedule and to come back when I had someone to drive me home. While that may have seemed like a viable option to Chad, I am a single woman, new to the area and I don't have anyone to drive me. This doesn't take away the fact that once my eyes are dilated, I won't be able to see clearly for several hours. However, my physical safety was obviously not a concern for Chad. He insisted that he had a "liability" to ensure my eye health. This is untrue. He could have documented that I refused dilation and therefore he is not liable. It's really as simple as that but his ego held sway. To say that Chad was rude and arrogant would be an understatement. His downward communication style spoke of his lack of confidence and his inability to listen to a patient's concerns. His rigidity and abhorrent bed side manner leaves a lot to be desired in a provider who is allegedly a "professional." While I knew that his education and licensure were less than an opthalmologist, I never expected his professional conduct to be so haughty. I definitely would NOT recommend Chad Tisdale or Wilmington Eye for your vision needs. You might get blindsided by an optometrist who refuses to make accommodations for individuals with a visual disability. You would be better off having your dog examine your eyes.

Said it might be about 20 more minutes! It's going on over an hour... SMH my parents are older and my mom doesn't do well out with long sitting. Not to mention she was quite rude and unprofessional with explaining having to wait for so long when we were there on time. This is the second bad experience at this place. Unacceptable.

Only to be told, they are running behind, girls have gone to lunch, we don't have you on our appointment books...any excuse in the world to delay their inevitable four hour appointment. Who has six hours to waste away for an appointment, that NEVER happens. I have had FIVE rescheduled appointments with this office. Don't bother with this place, until they improve their office staff and wait times.

A truly professionally run location…read more At check in, first time at this location they had all the paperwork already prepared and I only needed to sign 3 forms. No mounds of paperwork needed to be filled out. My appointment began on time and the assistant was thorough with their exam. Asking questions as things were progressing and listening to my responses and any questions that I had. The Dr. then saw me and went over everything and I was fitted for contacts and took the time to make sure the ones I received fit properly. At check out again a truly professional experience and the new contacts that were ordered included free shipping to my home so I do not have to return. They are an hour away from my home but I will be back as I know have a new place.
