Dr Bradshaw consultation is informative and some positive results in the beginning however the out of pocket expense of $17k outweighs the benefits of overpriced supplements and the 15-30 min virtual consultation. All 3 family members had different issues and with limited positive results. Follow up is not always immediate through the portal. Any prescriptions requires an outside physician as this practice has limited licenses. read more

This is what true health and wellness care looks like. Dr. Hilary and certified nutritionist Alyssa, have fundamentally changed my perspective and shifted my health in the direction of true healing. I have suffered most of my life with intestinal/stomach issues, acne, and chronic stress to the point where my brain was no longer able to make simple every day decisions, let alone plan and set goals for the future (something I use to thrive at). After working with both of them for the past 6 months, I feel fantastic and know that true healing is happening on a cellular level. I have had an terrible experience working with Dr. Hilary Rutledge, and I think it's important that people hear about it. I started working with her in June 2022 and I've recently decided to stop working her for the following reasons: I was on a supplement and diet protocol recommended by Dr. Hillary for approximately 2-3 weeks. One day shortly after starting the protocol, I could barely use my brain feeling extremely weak in my body, and I called the office for assistance. I spoke with the office and was directed to write Dr. Hillary in the patient portal. I didn't ask for Dr. Hilary to speak to me right that second, or even the same day. I would have totally understood if it took a few days. Instead of receiving a call back from the office that day, my husband informed me that I received a message from the office in the patient portal. The message said: Dr. Hilary is unavailable, we are not a primary care office but you can speak to the nutritionist. I was never told to involve my primary care doctor in the treatment plan/protocol prescribed by Dr. Hillary. I found it quite alarming that I was referred to get help elsewhere. It sent the message that I should take the supplements, trust the process, but you are pretty much on your own when things don't go well. What kind of care is that? After 2 weeks, Dr Hillary responded and agreed to speak on the phone. By that time I already decided to discontinue working with her and informed the office of my decision. Only then was I informed that Dr. Hillary was on vacation for the past 2 weeks. I would have understood if someone told me. At the start of our relationship, I was given a very different impression and was eager to work with her. She even sent a handwritten note in the mail saying "Thank you for giving me the opportunity to take care of you". I thought I was in caring and good hands. That feeling quickly changed after the first couple appointments. She came across as disregarding, like she doesn't want to deal with a patient outside of the paid hour in her office. I have a feeling that I'm not the first patient that has experienced that side of her. At the end of my last appointment, I was checking out with the receptionist. Dr. Hilary came by, and I asked her when I should book my next appointment. She walked right past me, completely ignoring my question, which was extremely rude. I have no doubt that she heard me. The receptionist saw and heard the whole exchange. She then asked the same question and, Dr. Hillary yelled over from the back answering her. I feel it would serve Dr. Hilary well to get in touch with empathy or at least a certain level of sensitivity. Being so disconnected and out of touch when dealing with vulnerable patients that are sick and suffering is harmful. I ended up receiving an apology letter from the receptionist in the patient portal. I briefly reconsidered leaving and wanted to reply back after thinking on it. To my surprise my patient portal access was suddenly suspended without any notice. After deciding to no longer be a patient, I requested and shortly after received my medical records in the mail. In addition to the records, I was sent a signed patient dismissal letter. I never laughed harder! It says: "There are times when this relationship is no longer effective and both parties find it necessary to ask the patient to select another physician." What in the world is she talking about? I decided to not work with her and her business. It seems so petty to send such a letter and bending the truth and making it seem like it was their decision to fire me as a patient. In spite of all of this, I do think Dr. Hillary is skilled at her craft and I'm sure she has helped people along the way. I just hope she takes my complaints about the lack of professionalism and insensitivity into consideration, for future patients sake. I would have liked to attach the two signed and handwritten notes in this review for authenticity's sake but unfortunately I'm unable to do that here. Have been to so many doctors and specialists to figure out why I have had autoimmune responses to daily life but none have taken the time like Dr Bradshaw and his team to really get down to the root cause of the ailments that have been overlooked due to being "young" and in the "normal range" for a 31 year old woman in the U.S. I have been working with these guys for the last 8 months and have seen immense changes. Really appreciate the in depth testing, teaching, and structure of care to tackle each diagnosis. Kaitlin their on staff nutritionist is also the bomb dot com, always coming up with new ways to help me meet my goals and really individualizes my treatment plan. BEWARE! One star is too high of a rating for the quality of care and office experience that I received from this "practice." I am sharing this so that other people do not make the same mistake that I made. I was seeking answers to some health struggles for both myself and my young adult son. I suppose desperate times call for desperate measures and I trusted the wrong practice. I was told at the onset that the process was to complete a comprehensive health inventory, meet with a health coach to discuss the inventory and to be provided with the recommendations for the lab work that the doctor felt was needed and that as soon as those results come in (about two weeks after meeting with the health coach), we would meet with the doctor to review the lab results and discuss a treatment plan. THIS IS NOT WHAT OCCURED. Instead, I paid up front for the testing and the health coach appointment, and was told that the doctor could not see me until 4/15/24 (my appt with the health coach was 1/15/24 and my labs were completed immediately). I was told my son could not be met by the doctor until 4/1/24 (his appt with the health coach was 1/19/24 and his labwork was completed immediately). I expressed concern at the time and was reassured by the health coach that if we both completed our labs as instructed, we would be put on a waitlist and would be called as cancellations occur, with the health coach indicating that they get daily cancellations. I would not have begun using this practice if I had known that we would have to wait three MONTHS (not two to three weeks) to review expensive lab results. THIS IS NOT WHAT OCCURED. I called the office on or about February 5, 2024, due to my son's condition worsening, and asked about the waitlist. I was told by Breanna that she was busy working on this week's schedule and I should call back at a time more convenient for HER. I called the office again on February 19, as I was desperate for these results as my son was on the verge of being hospitalized. I attempted to explain this to Breanna and she told me that she called us the week prior and we never called back. I told Breanna I had no missed messages from her to which she replied that she doesn't leave messages. I asked how I was supposed to know there was a cancellation if she didn't leave a message and she informed me that I should learn how to review my missed calls and said "if this is so urgent, than why wouldn't you call us back." I was extremely offput by her rude demeanor, her lack of empathy and her inability and/or unwillingness to treat the situation with care and kindness. I let her know this and asked to speak to the doctor or an office manager. She indicated that no one was available and that the doctor would call me the following day. THIS IS NOT WHAT OCCURRED. I had zero confidence that Breanna would relay the message and sent a note through the patient portal. The Dr. did not call me back but rather the next day sent me a message deactivating my account and supporting whatever it is Breanna told her (with no discussion at all with me or my son as the patient). I expressed to her that my son was now hospitalized and we needed the benefit of the results to which she did not respond. Almost one week later, I received the results in an envelope. I HAVE PAID THIS PRACTICE OVER $3000 for tests that have not been reviewed or discussed with me or my son. There has been no treatment plan. There has not even been ONE INTERACTION with the "Dr." Dr. Hilary Rutledge is a reckless practitioner that clearly is not patient centric. Breanna is in a position to help people and chooses not to. When it came to taking the money, there were no issues. When it came to providing the treatment, IT NEVER HAPPENED. PLEASE BEWARE read more

Fantastic quality of care for a whole health experience. I love that just following their free newsletter you can learn so many great tips and healthy food recipes. I wish our insurance companies would wake up and start looking at whole health. Our doctors remedies shouldn't be: here take this medication or we can surgically remove that. It should start just like your care starts at Wilmington Functional Medicine with a full profile followed by complete labs to see what sort of imbalances might be causing your dis-ease. I've been treated by Dr Hilary Rutledge for the last 2 years in regards to my Lupus and overall health and wellness. She has helped me to make sense of information coming from my Rheumatologist and Nephrologist; as well as taking time to explain test results in a way that made sense. She came up with a supplement regimen that would enhance and work alongside my medication regimen.
