Ok people, in my previous review, I gave up on Wilmington Pizza. I just now buy good frozen pizza or go to Aurelio's. My story begins a few Saturday nights ago. A friend of mine came into town and after visiting my fiancé and I, he wanted to go out for some pizza nearby. He started looking at nearby pizza places and he asked me on my opinion of Wilmington pizza. LOL, I had some stories for him. He didnt believe me and didnt believe the yelp ratings. I laughed and said fine, go see for yourself. An hour and a half later he calls me to tell me this: He went in and no one was at the counter. He yelled out as politely as he can, "Hello?". A woman came out and seemed grumpy to him as if he disturbed her nap. Without saying hi, she asked what he wanted. He gave his order and she said it will be about 45 minutes. He said fine and he will be back later. He leaves and comes back and instead of handing him his pizza, she kinda just drops it on the counter in front of him. He pays for the expensive pizza and leaves. He decides to have a slice for the ride home only to find it to be cold. Fortunately he didn't leave yet and he went back in (again she was grumpy for disturbing her for a second time) and told her what was wrong. Well, she gave him some attitude by stating that he took to long to get back and when he defended himself she started raising her voice at him. "What do you want? A new pizza? That will take an hour." He didn't want to wait and left. I told him to leave a review on yelp but he isn't into social media and doesn't want to do the hassle of creating an account and blah blah blah. So I said I would based on principle. Again people....go buy a DiGiorgio pizza. Cheaper, less hassle and pretty tasty. Do NOT patronize Wilmington Pizza. Their deliveries are worse. read more

Yesterday we came here for the first time with friends who love their pizza. We absolutely LOVED this pizza! We had extra thin crust, cheese and sausage. It was perfect. Crispy crust, good undercarriage, great tasting sauce and cheese. This pizza is a 10. If you haven't had it, you are missing out on a quality pizza. Ordered a pizza for pick up over an hour ago and not ready yet. FOR PICK UP! There are 15 people waiting for pizza's inside. There was no updated texted after the notification that they were busier than usual. When I called, I was hung up on twice. I never even spoke to anyone. Establishment was busier than usual but still had the order ready in 30 minutes as stated. We got a monster pizza with 3 toppings and an order of garlic knots. The pizza was perfect, just as it has been every time I come back to visit my hometown. The garlic knots were hot and tasty as well. I grew up eating pizza at the Pizzareia. I drove 2 1/2 hours to visit my folks this weekend. Was so excited to get pizza from here. It was delivered obviously burnt. Extremely disappointed so I brought the pizza back. Lady working said it wasn't burnt it was over done. Well I didn't order an over done pizza. They made another one and then threw it across the counter at me and said "have a good night" so unprofessional and I will never order pizza from here again and that upsets me the most. read more

Consistently poor service. Service alone gets zero stars. Be prepared to be ignored and/or your order lost or just heberal chaos behind the counter. I've never been here where one or the other hasn't happened. But, they do have the best Chicago-style thin crust pizza in the area. Meat toppings are sparse, so order extra. First time there, pizza was delicious! We dined in so it was very hot! It wasn't crowded at lunchtime but it did take about 25 minutes, not bad considering it's prepared when you order. They do have an app to order ahead. Service was very friendly. Just to note, drinks are either in a can or you can get a 2L. We will be back! read more

I ordered for the first time. The pizza was okay but I wouldn't order that again. The beef roll was good! The thing that really disappointed me is not only do they charge a delivery fee but also a SERVICE FEE on top of that. Plus with the tip I spent over $12 for them to deliver two blocks away. If I could give this place a zero star review I would. I ordered an Italian Beef sandwich from this place using the Slice app. The sandwich smelled like rotting urine and manure and tasted worse than vomit. I contacted a Slice customer service rep (Julia C) regarding the sandwich. She contacted the restaurant and the restaurant just kept saying their beef is fine. The restaurant refused to offer me a refund, an apology, or anything else for that matter. Pizza id great ..slice order and delivery is bad. ordered at 6:50 through slice. still no pizza at 7:30.Store would not answer phone. Called slice. The said it would be here soon????? Finaly got through to the store. She said they were evry busy so did not answer their phones. That is not right. My pizza was still in the oven.I did not arrive until about 8:15. Every great pizza establishment needs to have someone in the kitchen that speaks Italian. I lost it yrs ago from lack of practice but my dad and the chef would ramble on and on. I used to love this place but it seems like over the years it has gone downhill. I won't order from them again after my latest experience. I was told my order would be delivered in 45 minutes. I called at 90 minutes and they said the order was out for delivery. Twenty minutes later the driver pulled up. Neither the driver or the person on the phone offered an apology for the more than double delivery time. I got 2 pasta dishes and a sandwich so almost 2 hours seemed a little long for those items especially since I live less than ten minutes away. I really, really want to like this place. It's a cute little place with very kind employees and decent service (a pan pizza took only 15 minutes with 3 orders ahead of ours). The pizza itself had a good amount of toppings, maybe a little less bacon than I would've liked, but dude. The crust. At least for the pan pizza that I ordered, it was so bland, thin, and just generally flavorless. It was kind of just folded over the ingredients around the perimeter making it really hard to eat a slice (everything slid around and fell out) and the pizza wasn't sliced when I got it. Weird. Like I said, the service was really great and maybe I just messed up getting a pan pizza - I didn't try the thin crust or any other offerings. Maybe those are better, but my experience did not leave me anxious to try more. read more

As an out of towner, I can give my unbiased opinion. At first it was a little divey looking upon walking in. Had the breads sticks with cheese and a small sausage pizza. The girl up front was excellent at waiting on us and the food was surprisingly good. I would definitely go again if I was ever in the area. read more

Last time I went here, I went in to pick up my pizza and a side salad.. my side salad came in a brown bag, shredded lettuce and a couple tomato chunks.. We order the baked Mostaccioli dinners for take-out occasionally, and both of us like it really well. It would be super if some tomatoes or cukes or green pepper or something were added to the salad, though. I think the salads are packaged in the morning and put with dinners as orders come in, and they don't want extras wilting the lettuce. It is a shame that my family and I like the pizza here. Every time I call (once a week we have pizza night) I feel like I'm bothering who ever answered the phone. They have messed our pizza order up multiple times, probably because I'm typically rushed off the phone. Beef and sub sandwiches are decent and chicken parm used to be but last few times chicken has been very dry. The pasta dishes we have had have been terrible and the "side salad" that came with last time was shredded lettuce, nothing more. We expect more from a family owned business that is supposed to take pride in their recipes, maybe more pride should be taken in their customer service. Especially since we spend more money there then what we really should considering the poor customer service, disappointing pasta dishes and multiple messed up orders. read more
