We booked a cabin and added time to our road trip to spend some quality time with quality people. First, the cabin is adorable and very nice. The animals are so well taken care of. Spotless facilities cleaned daily. The clinic is impressive with its cleanliness and supplies. But here is where Wildheart shines: the wonderful, caring people. Annette, Dan, Katy, and all the volunteers are so dedicated to helping any and all animals that come their way. It doesn't matter how small or in what condition, these kind souls care for each animal equally and with compassion and skill. The energy on the ranch itself is vibrant. There is life everywhere you look. There is peace all around. Words cannot express the feeling you get here. Dan is a wealth of knowledge and on our tour gave us amazing tales of history of the land and people. Our minds were blown! Miriam Kelly contacted me saying that she would foster and find homes for them I just had to drop them off at a local veterinarian office. Come to find out she had been working with Wewoka humane society who no longer had any claim to the dogs! Miriam kept one dog and gave the other 3 to Wewoka humane society a high kill shelter and had been set to be euthanized today!? She is not a nice person at all very conniving and vendictive! Contacted them immediately. We were told the dog would be at an adoption event on Saturday in Tulsa. Visited and bonded. Picked up our new fur baby the following day. Note that they are not open to the public except on Sunday adoption days: Dog Adoption Event 11:00AM to 2:00 PM Cat Adoption Event 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM Our pick up and adoption process was seamless. We really appreciated the foster parents keeping us updated. They do great work and after this experience we will donate (or even volunteer). Look for an adoption event and meet your new pet.
