Great place. Got there around 6pm on a chilly windy evening. There was a couple fitting outside by the fireplace. We went in. Nice bar. Lots of rooms. Lots of people. They have a good drink menu, around $12. Wonderful server at our table. We decided to try appetizers only. Got the Bang Bang shrimp. Delicious and on a bed of salad. Fried oysters and artichokes was another good dish. Also got an order of onion rings - homemade and delicious. Will come back again to try sitting outside.

Hand crafted & creative cocktails, savory fried green beans to start our meal and entrees you could share! You can sit outside in the lovely breeze of the evening or enjoy the cool of their inside seating. Fresh shrimp salad and a chicken fried steak not only bigger than my hand but is to die for! Great staff and warm ambiance make for a fun girls night or chill date night.

My parents and I had a very good experience at Granite House recently. They are both "older" and can require extra patience from servers , but Maria did a great job of helping us that evening. The ceilings are low, the bar is boisterous and things can be a little loud. There is a patio area with fireplace that is a great respite from Main St. We shared some fried green beans and a Nee Orleans-style bbq shrimp to start. The order of green beans is massive and comes with a tasty dipping sauce. There are five big shrimp in the order, so be prepared to share accordingly. They do provide toast to soak up the yummy sauce. The chicken fried steaks are popular here and I can see why. Topped with a sunny side egg, the crust still stayed crispy and the portion was huge. We also had a Seafood Cobb salad , which my dad loved.

In town for the weekend and many people raved about this place so naturally I had to try it. I love the outdoor patio seating yet I enjoy the rustic indoor saloon and old home vibe of their dining area. It almost feels like 2 different restaurants. All of the staff are super friendly, welcoming and attentive. They just had a way of making you feel welcomed. I love thet you can order drinks outside while you wait for your table. We ordered a few things on the menu. Drinks: Lavender lemon drop 9/10 something about Lavender just works with this drink. Very fragrant floral and refreshing Appetizer: Spinach artichoke dip 4/10 it was way too cheesy and barely any artichoke. Very different than what we're accustomed to when eating this dip. Entrees: Red fish 8/10 the cook was perfect and the shrimp and andouille sausage sauce paired well with the fish Beef tips 8/10 tender with good down home flavor definitely nostaligc to Sunday dinner with the family Dessert: Bread pudding 6/10 it was huge. We were expecting it to be warm Overall a nice dining experience, cool decor, awesome staff and wonderful location Note that it's street parking and reservations are highly encouraged

Granite House is a low lit (kind of romantic) atmosphere, inside of what looks like an old restored house. Definitely family friendly, but also date night friendly. We were quoted a 30 minute wait, but we only waited about 10 minutes. Our server was awesome! She recommended some great options and we tried a lot of different things as a group. The fried calamari with the artichokes was great. Well seasoned, a large portion and pretty tender all around. The spinach dip was mostly just cheese with a hint of spinach lol. Cool if that's what you like, I know I do. For entrees... My friend got the pork chop and WOW, it was so good. The sauce is everything! Highly recommend. My other friends had fried options, chicken fried chicken and fried seafood. Both really good flavor. And finally, I had the pasta with shrimp and mussels. Also, very good flavor but it was a little too salty for my liking. Overall, I would go back and try more.

Lovely little place with a great atmosphere. Service was great and we were sat quickly. We split a Cesar salad to start, I had the bang bang shrimp and hubby had fish and chips. Everything was good and cooked well. Draught beer selection was a little limited, but found something easily. Will definitely be back again!

If you're looking for a great outdoor patio for an evening drink - this is the place. Attentive service, great cocktails, and appetizers to nibble.

Food and drinks were delicious! It did take a while to get seated but that's expected in a tourist town. Great service! We got seated outside and it was a beautiful evening! Would come again!

Food was excellent. Ambience on the patio was quiet and relaxing. They have lots of pecan trees and white fairy lights which makes it feel fun and magical. Food came out FAST and I was a bit worried because of how quickly it arrived but it was very good. Prices are a little high for what you get but it's a tourist town. Great service. No complaints.

We walked from our hotel to here... and straight up, this place was bustling. Modern, southern food is what they specialize in. They have limited hours - 5-9 pm daily, not sure which days they're closed. Lots of outdoor patio seating, with limited seating in the small house that's been converted into a restaurant. We opted to wait for a table indoors, for a much cooler temp. We were seated near the noisy busy bar indoors. The noise level was pretty high, and the people at a table near us were super loud. But, our sever, Bobby was the best! Friendly, helpful, and checked on us frequently. He made recommendations on dinner, since we had no clue. The special of the day- pesto chicken fettuccine- This sauce was too creamy and reminded me more of an Alfredo sauce consistency. I didn't care for it. Chicken fried steak- Kobe beef fried and gravy'd up with mashed potatoes and green beans. Pretty good. Drinks were solid and reasonable. Loved my coconut lime mojito and the mule was awesome. Great service, great cocktails, and good food.

While visiting Fredericksburg on a short road trip, we found this casual restaurant just a few blocks from our hotel. Although it was a little warm, we opted to be seated in the outdoor dining area due to a wait for a table inside. It was pleasant enough although the flies were a bit pesty (this has been a bad year for flies in Texas, period). The menu was geared toward seafood but had other options as well. We had the Jam on it Burger, the seafood Cobb salad, and the chargrilled salmon. The tasty Kobe burger combined well with pimento cheese, bacon jam and the house sauce. The seafood Cobb was fresh and we appreciated the nice selection of greens...definitely not something dumped out of a Dole salad bag as you find in some restaurants. It was really good with a delicious homemade dressing. The chargrilled salmon was excellent, just slightly over done but the char was perfect on the outside. It was placed atop a mound of smashed potatoes that were very creamy. Service was very good, attentive and kept our drink glasses full. Prices were very reasonable too. Recommended.

Loved our dinner here at Granite House Lounge! Gorgeous outdoor patio despite the crazy amount of mosquitos visiting Fredericksburg the same weekend we were. We ordered the artichoke dip for starters and a variety of cocktails. The menu is inclusive of many dietary restrictions. For dinner I ordered the chicken masala over mashed potatoes and a side of asparagus. YUM! It was such a great decision given that it was my first time here. Our toddler loved the large trees out on the patio and the rest of our party enjoyed their meals. 5/5 highly recommend you make a visit!

Do they accept to go orders?

    Is this family friendly?

I would say it is, but remember you are at a $$$ to $$$$ restaurant. The customer service was great & I am sure they can accommodate.

Do they seat parties larger than 8?

Yes they do. However I do recommend making a reservation. There are prob 2/3 areas that will accommodate a party that size.

We enjoyed the atmosphere - it looks like a house-turned-bar and has so much charm. We were able to place our orders at the bar and one of the bartenders brought it out to us in the backyard. We sipped on our delicious drinks while rocking on the swinging bench outside. We decided to share the volcano ashes and floating petals cocktails. The volcano ashes was a bit too bitter for my taste - if you're someone who wants very little sweetness in your drink, this is the one for you. The floating petals was much more my style - the mix of floral tastes was lovely and it was on the slightly sweeter end, just how I like it! We decided on two sangrias after that which were nicely spiced and absolutely lovely. As it got colder outside we decided to move to one of their side rooms, which has nice furniture and is a bit more private than the main room. The bartenders were very kind and the drinks were delicious! Definitely check this spot out on your next visit to Fredericksburg.

Vibe is euro-bistro and the staff is perfectly attentive. Prices are high, but honestly aligned to the quality of the food, at least the dishes we had were worth the prices. Food: Buttermilk Fried Chicken, with Onion/Bacon flash fried collard greens, whipped potatoes and house gravy and Jalapeno Cornbread for $32 Reuben on Marble Rye for $24 16oz Stella Artois for $10 We agreed that the fried chicken (5/5) was the best we could remember having. Whipped potatoes (5/5) were light, fluffy and perfect taste/texture. The gravy was like brown butter (5/5). The collard greens (5/5) were flash fried and if you've never had them like this, it's like eating collard green potato chips. Cornbread (3/4) was a bit too delicate and sweet for our taste. You couldn't pick it up without it falling apart. The Ruben (3/5). My wife loves a good Ruben sandwich. This one had the makings of a good one, but they use a Thousand Island sauce (too much of it) on the sandwich, and it hides the flavor of the meat. Next time we would ask for the sandwich without the TI sauce, see if that improves the rating. The sandwich came with house made potato chips (5/5), a small house salad with vinaigrette (5/5) and a large, pickled cucumber. I know, that's a pickle, but these are cucumbers that have gone maybe a third of the way through the process, so the cucumber taste is really prevalent. Lastly, we had the Creme Brulé (3/5) for dessert. It was nice, but the custard was coffee and caramel flavored, and we prefer the standard custard look and flavor. The caramel should come from the top layer, not the custard. The top layer was a bit too thick as well. We liked it, just didn't love it. Overall, quality food, service and vibe with prices that are aligned to more special occasions than everyday eating out. We'll be back to try the Monday Crawfish Etoufee and the Tuesday Duck Confit daily specials...look too good to pass up.
