Although some in SCV would disagree, based on my experience I wouldn't refer this company to my friends or family. I used Wilson for just just over a year. I don't have any complaints about the quality of how the pool looked. His techs did a good job cleaning the pool and spa. But I had multiple issues with them in other areas. Very simple things that come with the service were hit and miss but I overlooked them because I didn't have the time to find someone else and like I said, the pool itself looked good. Issues arose more than I would have expected and when they did, I politely contacted Wilson and he said they'd be taken care of, yet they continued. I experienced the following issues: Several times the tech didn't show up on the scheduled day and didn't give me any notice. Not a big deal until you're expecting guests and a clean pool on a specific day. Once they failed to show up entirely for a week and Wilson had to make a deduction on the bill. On several occasions the tech left the skimmer lid opened, which was a major liability and they would frequently leave debris around the skimmer instead of just tossing it away, as they should. The filter cleanings were sloppy. The DE was left all over the ground instead of cleaned up. On multiple occasions they left the door to the main pool control opened and exposed to direct sunlight and rain. This continued even though I spoke to Wilson. The techs repeatedly failed to secure my gate and put the trash bins back behind the front of house. These are my HOA rules and I've been giving "warnings" as a result of this. Additionally, my dog got out of the gate several times because they failed to return the bins to block the gate. If you find the bins one way upon arrival, return them to how they were upon departure! I advised Wilson of the above issues as they happened. I showed him pictures or video and the conversations were always pleasant. I told him these things were important to me and explained why. He of course said this wasn't ok and was apologetic but issues continued. After all this, I still stuck with this company. On 8-1-22 Wilson texted me advising that 8-3-22 was going to be the last day he serviced the pool. He said he was "moving towards commercial accounts". So he gave me virtually just a few days notice. Not cool. Turns out he wasn't being honest with me and he only used this as an excuse to cancel my service because he was tired of having me contact him. Who wouldn't have contacted him given the above mentioned issues? Unfortunately my experience was not good and things ended on a bad note with his lack of professionalism in not giving me ample notice of service cancellation. On top of all this, their service fee is on the higher end of the going rates here in SCV. I paid more with him than I've paid with any other company I've used in the last 15 years. Being at the higher end of the price spectrum, I expected much better service. read more

My experience with Wilson has been great. I'm the type that takes care of his pool 98% of the time, but then calls a professional when I run up against out of the ordinary problems. I've been very unhappy with other pool companies in my area, so I tried Wilson out. He has helped with those out of the ordinary problems, and has solved some of them and offered recommendations for me to try, allowing me to dodge spending money on troubleshooting visits, which I truly appreciate. I needed a pool tile repair job done. I used Wilson to install a code compliant pool pump a couple years ago. He was reviewed very highly on Yelp. I called him we agreed on a price. Slight hiccup we needed some new tiles. He was able to find them at a great price. The day of install went smooth, five person crew showed up, it was done in a couple hours. I read a couple of reviews about Wilson not showing up on time. The 3 times he came into my backyard, first time to assess the job, second time to start the job, third time to finish the job, did he show up on time, not once. I text Wilson's and told him my gate on the side yard is unlocked, you have my permission to enter and start the work. Not a big deal. I know Wilson's will do the job properly. The original contractor that installed the tile used silicone on a portion his tile job, after a number of years those tiles detached and fell off. Last spring I had another contractor come in and do a repair job in the same spot. They didn't bother to remove the silicone and the tiles fell off again. This time Wilson talk to me about buying a new box of tiles, I agreed, installation was done properly. I don't see any further problems with these tiles falling off again. Ease up on the time constraints and you will be happy in the end. Relax! read more

"The job you did today wasn't professional or complete. You dumped DE in our dog run. DE everywhere. You didn't vacuum the debris on the bottom of the pool. You left a mess on the pool deck. Algae on sides of pool. No scrubbing of tiles. Then no one answers the phone." I wrote to them in an email with pictures. The owner Mauricio offers to come back and clean up. Make it right and continue service. I firstly say no. Then my son contacts him and says ok hopefully it was just a one time error. They come back and clean it up. Chips in the decking are now a result. Then they are to have come back for weekly service on the 24th and were a no show. I called the woman and asked her what is going on? What she says? I tell her that no one has come out this week. The pool is dirty. She says I thought you didn't want us to come back. I said that was my initial thought but my son gave your company another chance. You came back remember? She said she didn't get the text my son sent asking Wednesday what happened are you coming back? Then she takes no responsibility. She says to me that they didn't charge me for cleaning up. I told her I paid $342.27 for filter replacement service. Did you want me to pay you to clean up your mess? We recently upgraded all of our pool equipment and were referred to Wilson's Pool Services to do the job. Wilson was very well prepared to answer all the questions we had and presented a thorough quote before the work started that we all agreed to, including a breakdown of equipment cost, labor, and cleanup which gave us great relief considering this was not an easy or cheap project! The work took 2-3 days to fully complete which was on track to plan. Wilson had set us up with wifi compatibility to our equipment and with his troubleshooting help, we are now connected via wifi to our spa, pool, and backyard lights which is so convenient and AMAZING! As promised, the equipment is extremely quiet and we are hoping to reap the cost benefits of a more efficient system. We also asked Wilson to have the white scale stains from our pool removed which he had done with great care and has suggested a few ways he could maintain this. The pool and spa had also been drained for cleaning and refilled. He left the yard spotless and removed all of the old equipment. We had a dip yesterday for the first time since the upgrade and cleanup, and the pool was sparkling. We decided to move forward with Wilson's Pool for our monthly maintenance as we were highly impressed with their services. We would highly recommend Wilson's services. P.S. Wilson's came out in December to fix a couple pool pump leaks I had. Did an awesome job and was very reasonably priced. Very professional. Today I had them come again because my pool suction wasn't working. He came out checked everything out to let me know everything was good I just needed to program my pump speed to run higher for a longer time for the vacuum to clean my pool. He didn't charge me anything to come out since he previously worked on the pump. If you have any problems with your pool calls Wilson's, best in the business. read more

The other negative reviews were pretty on the money so whatever the business manager says, it was probably her only ammunition. Deny, deny, deny. I texted Wilson the day before he arrived to ensure he would show up the next day and he said yes. Day of the appointment arrives and he said between 2-4. At 3:21 I texted and said how long is this going to take? I get a call a few minutes later saying the pump was not at his suppliers. Ok, when were you going to let me know? What next? I'll be there tomorrow first thing once I go to a new supplier on Friday. He showed around 1:00 on Friday to install the new pump. Once he installs the pump he gives me a 50K foot run down on what he did and mind you, I'm trying to keep physical distance from him so it was not ideal. He agreed to come the next day around noon or call by then and do a full service over two days to clean the filter, chlorinate and clean the pool and then clean the filter again after. The next day rolls around and no show, no call. I exchange a couple of texts with him later and then decide I don't like flaky vendors so I cancel. I then went into the back where the pump he replaced is and there's the original box, the cut pipes and debris. Dude, you're right next to 3 garbage cans. He removed the timer screws on my pool timer and I understand he must've set the timer on the pump itself but gave me no instructions, thankfully he left the instructions still in the bag. Overall, did he replace the pump, yes. Not denying that. Was he flaky, yes. Can't deny that. I have no doubt he did great work for someone historically but this is just my honest review on the work he did for me. read more

Wilson's Pool Service has failed to live up to the sales pitch Wilson previously provided. The service started off right but service quickly declined when Wilson started sending someone else to service our pool instead of him. Didn't even notify us that another tech would be coming out instead of him. During our initial meeting Wilson stated he would be the one to service but as time passed he did not show and another person came. Not sure how much experience this person had but we immediately noticed the quality of our weekly service plummet. Nothing wrong with expanding your business and bringing in help but I think a little more oversight of his employees work is in order. Or maybe a quarterly call to his clients to see how the services are? Chemical levels off (tested with 2 pool stores to confirm - phosphates tested over 1000 twice and PH out of wack). Sometimes I would come home to the mosaic tiles that came off during cleaning just stacked by the pool equipment. Wouldn't a simple text to tell me the tile fell off while he scrubbed the pool be sufficient? Why stack it by the pool equipment as if you were trying to hide something? We also found algae in the pool on 3 separate occasions. The first 2 times, Wilson came and added something to the pool and cleaned it but the 3rd time was when Wilson felt we were "demanding too much". Frustrated, My wife texted Wilson about the algae and asked that he fix it and asked that he clean our pool instead of this other person but according to the picture we sent him, he didn't see algae. Not sure how he can be sure of that as he doesn't come to the house anymore. We are paying for a monthly service and feel that if the service is not up to par then we should be able to contact the service provider and ask that our concerns are corrected. Not with Wilson...after my wife's text, he cancelled our service. We even contracted Wilson to install a new pool pump. I didn't hear him complaining about us being too demanding when he cashed the check for that job. Also, on several occasions, we would receive a bill with a previous month's service as unpaid even though a check was sent and cashed. His bookkeeper (maybe him) didn't seem to update all that often. I had to send him screen shots of the money sent and evidence the check was cashed which was an inconvenience. Wilson will over promise and under deliver in my opinion. read more

He gave me sound advice and checked our pool equipment without trying to upsell. My service also included him replacing an electrical part that would have taken me days to find. I called Wilson's Pool Service to take care of some valve, pump, and light issues, and for expansion joint replacement after recommendations from neighbors. We had a very good experience and found them to be friendly, on time, clean, and honest. In fact, the technician found out that the light issue was just a shorted switch, which he fixed, and so I didn't need to replace the whole light, saving us money.
