Dear God what a good company. I am amazed at their service. I made the call to have an inspection on a potential home purchase late in the day and I got an appointment for the following day. Very bad overall experience. Would definitely 100% NOT recommend Tom Unverzagt and his "team. " Home Inspector Rob Giannino was pleasant to deal with during the inspection but regrettably that's where the good ends. After talking with Rob and reviewing the full report I was very confident this would become our new home with only minor issues pointed out that were easily addressed by the homeowner. Well the first day we are living in the home I experienced water in the basement and I came to realize it was due to a faulty waste pipe that was cracked on the bottom and had epoxy affixed to it, to which they failed to find & put in their report. This led to my plumber finding the exterior waste line to be leaking as well right next to my foundation to which they also failed to find & put in their report after I paid extra for a camera to scope the septic system. Now other issues like water leaks in bathrooms are popping up. What will be next ? The worst part is after thousands of dollars spent to correct these issues missed by WIN home inspection, I personally called Tom Unverzagt explained the situation and also sent him photo proof & asked him to make things right. He deflected, made excuses and said it's not his fault. Well then what exactly was inspected properly ? After the fact he was not open to issuing a refund for his defective & delinquent services. He is dodging my phone calls and is "unavailable" Clearly a man who doesn't stand by his product. Save yourself a headache and hire someone else. read more

I will update this review after I've been in the house for a while and I can see if any issues surface, but in terms of my experience with the actual inspection I thought Sean from WIN was great. He really explained everything he saw and was able to give me the context I asked for in terms of whether things were a big deal or not, or a near- or long-term issue. He also gave me a lot of pointers about caring for the house going forward. He had previously inspected the property for another prospective buyer, and pointed out issues that had been fixed in the interim, which was especially helpful. read more

Company failed to identify several major, minor, dangerous, vital and costly problems during a home inspection. Upon bringing this matter to the attention of management, they dodged their responsibility for performing a thorough and comprehensive inspection by stating "It wasn't rusted when we were there," "It wasn't broken when we were there," "We just spot check things and can't be expected to be experts in every area." The inspection report included many "cop outs" which the company leans on as an escape clause to contractual obligations. For example, "Consult a licensed plumber to evaluate the usable life of your water heater," rather than "there's rust on the water heater and signs of old leaks." When presented with a laundry list of problems they missed, amounting in several thousands of dollars worth of repair work, I was offered no compensation until the threat of posting truthful reviews online was made. At which time I declined a measly refund of the inspection fee- electing to pursue real compensation through legal means. read more
