My lunch here was ok. Not great, not bad but somewhere in the middle. My Wonton Soup was served hot and the wontons were filled with meat but the broth was very salty. My chicken combo plate has some good fried rice and the chicken was tasty but the sauce was again on the salty side. I've been going to the Win Wah since the day it opened. I love the Sweet and Sour Chicken, Lemon Chicken, Fried Rice, Beef and Broccoli, and Pepper Steak. Egg rolls are a solid choice. Won Ton good. Service is FAST!! Eat there or takeout out it's ready fast and it's hot. This place is our go- to for Sushi and Chinese food. The other day, I ordered 10 random sushi rolls for our wedding anniversary (stayed home because of a toddler and infant). They made a really nice tray arrangement we weren't expecting. It was a fantastic added touch to show the care they put into their food. The only thing holding me back from 5 stars are the dumplings. It's been a crazy six years since I last ate at Win Wah, and it wasn't anything special. The most obvious change has been the addition of a sushi bar. (It might have been there, and I just forgot.) Their dimly-lit dining room can handle about 70. The decor looks "Chinese" thanks to signage, hanging fans, and red tablecloths. (Heck, it even smells like a Chinese restaurant.) For a Wednesday at 9 pm, there were only (unsurprisingly) a few diners. The host was friendly, engaging me right away when I walked in. Like any americanized place, you get fried crisps and duck sauce to snack on. Tea was brought out too - during the meal, I was offered water. For an appetizer, I went for their hot and sour soup. It had a somewhat meaty texture. The plate of Szechuan duck was much better - along with hot oil, it was solid. Soup, duck, and rice put me down for the count. I used to hate lunching at Win Wah, but it seems they've improved (at least for dinner). Stop in and check them out for yourself! read more

Overall tasty and will be coming back again. We did takeout - General Tso's Chicken, Hunan Chicken, small Pork Lo Mein, and Crab Rangoons. General Tso's - I liked it, great flavor, but husband thought it was a bit soggy and wished it was crispier. Hunan Chicken - was not aware this would be in a black bean sauce. I thought it was fine, the chicken & veggies were tender, but I'm used to a spicy hunan chicken with chili peppers. I liked and ate it but wouldn't reorder. Pork Lo Mein - tasty, would get again Crab Rangoons - filling was creamy and good but again it wasn't crispy. it needed a bit longer to get the right crispiness. We got everything "Medium Hot" and that had no spice to it. Next time will get Extra Hot. We ordered online but never got an email that they received it. Called to confirm and yes they do receive online orders and it was nearly ready! So don't wait for email confirmation, just assume they got it. read more

The pork mushu really is delicious. The General tso's is not good. Fried rice is decent! I love that they give you actual crunchy fried won tons instead of those other kind of thick bland noodle type things. Win Way was pretty good. Service was quick and the quick and the food was good. I placed an order for pick up and it was ready in 10 minutes! The lo mein was great, it had a very nice sauce on it. We also ordered the General Tso's chicken, which was not great because it was very sweet. My brother-in-law ordered the Kung Pao chicken, which had a nice flavor. Finally, the egg rolls were just ok. Overall, I would probably order from here again, but will stay away from the General Tso's. read more

Ehh, its just okay. My co-worker raved about this place so I thought I'd order with. He got the Mongolian Beef with no veggies and chicken sticks....he seemed to love his meal as he just had marinated beef and white rice. I got a lunch special Sesame Tofu with brown rice and an egg roll and an order of fries (yea, i should've known better then to order fries from Chinese take out) Anyways, the tofu was all even sized but tasted bland since the sesame sauce was very light (seemed watered down)...egg roll had nothing in it except a tiny bit of cabbage - it was all just the egg roll wrap so i chucked it. When I looked at the menu and saw that my combination platter should have been $7.95, she had no explanation for the extra $4 charge. I asked for a full refund and high tailed it out of there. Then had to cajole.....pattern here? Was there at lunch on a weekday and was like the land that time forgot. One of the employees sat in a nearby booth playing some kind of a loud video game. Food: won ton soup was more like dishwater with two lonely wontons. Have had better in virtually every Center City Philly corner establishment, even the ones with bulletproof plexi barriers. Ordered tasteless roast pork with garlic sauce that was almost without any pork - just a few shreds. I'd look elsewhere. Place isn't cheap for what you ( don't) get. We come here often... Everything we've had is always so good! Comes out piping hot and fresh! Our favorites include bone in spare ribs, shrimp egg foo young, and the dragon and phoenix dish. So much deliciousness! No clue why it doesn't have more stars. Everything is classic (Americana style) Chinese. They have sushi and other stuff but we've never tried it. For Chinese take out spots, this one is actually one of my favorites. Their dumplings are much better because they have a thinner layer of skin. Most places have this thick skin, barely any meat dumplings. Additionally, I love ordering from here because of the boxes they use for the combo meals. I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. This gets 2 stars because meh. I have experienced (way) better. I didn't read anything about their shrimp with mixed vegetables but that's what I was craving so I went ahead and ordered delivery. This was really lacking in flavor. It was almost watery and was struggling. This is my go-to order so I've tried a decent amount of these from a lot of other restaurants. The hot and sour soup wasn't the best either. I have some pretty good chinese places that are more local, but I tried Win Wah because they are on GrubHub and deliver to my area. It's super nice to be able to order online and pay with PayPal, so that is a pretty big advantage for them. Everything worked as expected: ordered online, food showed up shortly after, order was correct. Food was decent. Their dumpings are homemade and very good. I would recommend these. Sushi was just meh. I tried a couple of rolls, and they had more of a fishy essence than I care for. Not sure if it was the fish or the nori. On the upside, they were pretty inexpensive. All in all, I would order from them again and try some more of the chinese dishes, mainly because of the convenience of GrubHub ordering. Reading reviews for this joint made me a little apprehensive about trying it out, but I'm on this 'try new things in my hood' kick. So I found a coupon from the clipper, hoping that if nothing else I would get a cheap meal, and ordered some takeout for a handsome fella and myself. My food was ready in the quoted time, and the lady at the counter was very nice and accommodating when I asked for something extra on arrival. We each started off with a basic sushi roll. Spicy tuna (5) for him, and a spicy salmon roll (5) for me. I requested avocado, and didn't notice any special upcharge which was nice. Both rolls were decent. A very small step above grocery store sushi, but not nearly as good as any decent sushi joint. The fish wasn't bad at all, but the rice seemed a little old and not very fresh at all. For the price, it wasn't bad at all. We also kept it simple with a small order of shrimp/broccoli (5.75) and chicken/broccoli (5.25). Both were pretty good, about good as any other takeout version I've had. My only complaint was that it's about 75 cents or a dollar more than my go-to Chinese, called Dragon & Phoenix. I find their food a little bit better, and a little bit cheaper. I almost forgot, my actual only complain is that when I opened my container of chicken, there was a nice, dark hair right on top. Blurgh. It was pretty gross. Some people might take off a star. But you know.. people have hair, and these things happen. I didn't take off a star because everyone's allowed one mistake, and I bet if I had dined in the food would have been remade and they would have been apologetic about it. A trip to Win Wah for dining in today proved to have some delicious food and nice add-ons, but this strikes me as the type of place that would be better served as a carryout location then a dine-in location. Atmosphere - Walking in was... unimpressive. I saw that both Win Wah and the restaurant next door both have Chinese/Japanese food. I went with Win Wah because the lunch specials were very affordable for the most part. Inside is a mix of drab wallpaper, fake flowers at the table, and a large fish tank with a few goldfish inside. The hard wooden booths were not very inviting either, and the chandeliers with the brass fixtures looked outdated. Other then a few lunchtime diners, place was not busy. Waitstaff - A polite waiter greeted me with hot tea and offered a menu for review. Not as conversational, brought food out on time and hot which is always important. Brought the check and brought slip back quickly too, nice work! Food - Okay, for as plain as the interior looks here, the food is awesome! Win Wah does Chinese food right. From the orange duck sauce and crisps when you sit down, to the delicious lunch portion of sesame chicken and brown rice, everything here was very delicious. I'd rather they spend money on making their food good anyway, and the things I had here were a home run. Intangibles - Have a lot of 'clutter' when you first walk-in, from the takeout cooler with drinks to the neon signs, to the large vases that center the fish tank, just seems like if they remove some of the clutter up front and add some TLC, they'd have a really nice dine-in location too. When I dine out for Chinese, I also like to have some sake or an Asian beer, liquor license did not exist from what I saw here. Overall - Great place for takeout, but for dining in, eh, not so much right now. The food though is hard to top and a great place for a quick lunch (my total bill with tip was less then $10!) Good location and Good food, just needs some interior renovation and they'll be able to draw a much more fancy and spendy kind of crowd. read more

Yes, you will likely get a heart attack but the crispy and light lotus flour batter-covered jumbo shrimp and mayo-based dressing complimented by honey-glazed walnuts with a bed of steamed broccoli is delicious. I've been to Win Wah before on the off chance that I had to pick up something and this was the closest place but in those instances this place only deserves a 2. The serving size for take out couldn't feed a 5 year old. But luckily I was able to do a work lunch with a client and experience the sit in feel. Well the difference is night and day. The service is fast and friendly. The portions are plentiful and the price was spot on for a lunch in Conshy. We had both sides of the menu; Chinese/American(beef and broc) and Japanese(sushi).
