Ordered chicken and mushroom but got chicken and broccoli. Need to check your orders before you send them out.

I've ordered dinner for my family from Shanghai several times and usually enjoy it. However, tonight's experience makes me not want to order from here again. As I was eating the Beef with Mixed Vegetables, i swallowed a piece of broccoli with some rice and immediately noticed something hard and metal-like starting to move down my throat. I immediately went to the trash can and forced myself to throw up. What came out was this long string of metal which i'm guessing is from those stainless steel scrubbers you can find in kitchens... I called and the manager asked me what I wanted to do about this and I said i'd like a refund... so she said she'd give me a refund for just that 1 dish (it was a $65 order for the whole family). Kind of ridiculous for how serious this could have been. I have 2 young kids (a 4 year old and 1.5 year old) who were also eating the same food... luckily it happened to me and not to one of them. We decided to just throw away the rest of the food because 1. It ruined our appetite and 2. I don't want to have to take my children to the ER because they could have swallowed strands of metal from a dirty kitchen scrubber. The manager should have offered to refund the whole order but to only offer a refund on the one $12 dish for what could have sent one of my kids to the ER is ridiculous. read more

VERY INCONSISTENT! One day they are great; the next day meh. Used them only for takeout or delivery. Found a couple of better places nearby.

We ordered from this restaurant via Door Dash last night. We ordered a variety of things to try them out since we hadn't found a Chinese restaurant we loved in our area just yet. The General Tso's was sweet instead of spicy and really didn't have a lot of flavor - this was a HUGE disappointment to us since this is our favorite dish and it tasted more like Sweet and Sour Chicken than General Tso's. We also ordered the Mei Fun - it was pretty good. Not the best I've had, but everyone enjoyed this dish. Our egg rolls and wonton soup were fairly standard - the wontons were really thick and hard to eat, but all in all, a good compliment to the meal. Given the number of Chinese restaurants around, I can't say we would order from here again. read more

We had dinner for four from Shanghai last evening. Everything was delicious: pepper steak, chicken with broccoli, steak with mushrooms, and the fantastic General Tso's bean curd. Their bean curd is so much better than tofu from other places. And their packaging is well done read more

First time using Shang Hai. My two favorites in the area are China Wok, which doesn't deliver, and Wuwu, which does but because of the distance it's a bit costly. Given prior reviews, I was hesitant to try this place but found it worthwhile. They quoted an hour for delivery but showed up in about 35 minutes. Portions were large for the price. Quality was good. Maybe not quite as good as the other two but not bad at all. Value was excellent. I'd order from here again. read more

Use to go here often before the pandemic. Since then Service is horrible! Woman refused to take my order and serve me after asking how they cook their food! Told me no that she will cook food to my preference which was just fried rice! She was rude and apparently do not understand English well enough to be taking orders! Will never return! read more

It's 3;19p on a cloudy Saturday and not having taste for anything in particular I decided to try this place. The smell greeted me at the door! It smelled dirty and musty. I ordered the Singapore Mei Fun; $9.50, then sat in my car to wait. At home now and am curious to taste one of my favorite meals. TOO much of what tastes like Saffron. I got their Menu in the mail I called that day and the phone rang and rang and rang. So i called another place. Then tonight 03/15/18 I called for delivery and the guy that picked up said they closed early at 9pm, their menu said 10pm. Nancy and I really like this little Chinese Restaurant in Jeffersonville, PA because FIRST the food is good, tasty, economical and TWO the cashier is friendly and helpful in making a selection if you need help, THREE you can order on line and it is always ready when you arrive, there is no waiting and FOUR it is close to our home and parking is available all the time and since I walk with crutches, this makes it easy for me. Think we found our new "Go To" Chinese place in West Norriton. I'm a big fan of their Singapore Mei Fun but tonight tried the Hunan Pork. Incredible! Freshest of the fresh veggies and nice cuts of pork. My wife had Generals Tso's which was equally delicious. read more

If you are going to order delivery do not do it. We have ordered here multiple times and they have NEVER gotten our order right. They usually say next time we'll get you, which they do but if you are missing a pivotal part of your meal they will fight with you how they can not come Out for their mistake. They have subpar delivery service which takes over an hour and never ever help to make things right when they forget meals. DO NOT order delivery from here! read more

First- I don't work here or know the ppl that do. I just had my first meal from Shang Hai and it is one of the best ones I have had ina long time. I used to go to another place but they were recommended. Large portion. The other place (don't want to name) may have been a little bigger but was all noodles, this had more then enough meat / sea food. The kicker, I asked for extra sauce and got more then expected. The food is always delicious and the delivery service is always timely and friendly. I have had a few issues minor but inconvenient issues with this business. I once called for delivery and said i was paying cash and also said that I would need change, but the driver didn't bring any change.. so he had to call and read my credit card info over the phone. A different time we called for delivery and they were not able to deliver because of a car issue from my understanding, so we had to pick up the food. And then most recent issue was tonight when the pint of white rice was missing to accompany my chicken and broccoli order. First of all (you know where this is going) this was my first time ordering from here and the absolute last time. I read the reviews and should have listened to some of the others. I ordered delivery at 6:15 and got my food 2 minutes to 8...you do the math smh. I called two times to inquire about the status and they told me they were very busy. I reminded them that they told me it would be 45 minutes which means I actually waited over double the time. I would have canceled my order if I hadn't already paid with my card over the phone. We ordered delivery there on 2/21/19. We didn't get a container of Wonton Soup we ordered. I called to tell them and was asked if I wanted to go pick it up. I said no, because our family was already at the table ready to eat. I asked him to just credit my credit card for the amount. He said he couldn't because his boss wasn't there and he didn't have the "code". He asked if I wanted to leave a credit on my account to use later. I declined and asked him to send someone over with it. He said he would "a little later". We never got the soup and I gave them ample time to credit my credit card which never happened. It's not even about the money - it's that he wasn't in any kind of hurry to get us the soup. I get that they may have been busy, but they should have credited me for the soup if they couldn't deliver it. Even though the food was good, we will not order from there again. We will stick with No. 1 China Star in Bridgeport. They are much cheaper and never short you food. read more

I just can't find good Chinese food in this part of the county. I ordered the Sesame chicken and like every out C. place in the area I was bitterly disappointed. While the chicken had a tasty sauce much of it was hard and dry. The white rice was mushy to the point where you would question weather it was a solid or liquid. I ordered food from here for the first time since they have been open and was not happy at all. I ordered for a family of four and had a 50 dollar bill. First I ordered a side order of crab Rangoon, which they forgot to give us. I called and the male that answered the phone said it was crossed off the order and if I wanted them I would have to come back and pay for them to get them. I blew that off. So we also ordered the cold noodles with peanut butter sauce. There was so much water in the bottom from the noodles I had to dump the water out. The sauce on the noodles was horrible. You could actually taste the crunch of sugar when you chewed into them. The egg rolls were dropping with cooking oil. This restaurant has only been open a few weeks and I've been back 3 times! Each time I've ordered something different, and each time the owners are friendly, the space is clean, the food is fresh and is completed quickly, and everything has been delicious! There aren't many fast Chinese restaurants in the area, but this one is by far the best! The only downside is that they do not deliver, but they take call-in orders and they are quick!! They do have tables, but no table service. I have to say I am all for independent restaurants succeeding so I can be a little lax on some things but I am sorry this was some of the worst food I have ever had. I placed a pickup order at 9:28 and they close at 10, I do not order too close to closing because I have been a chef for 35 years and we all hate late tables. I just moved to the area right around the corner so I was really looking forward to a decent or even very good Chinese place close by. Order Moo Shu pork and pork fried rice, no brainier for a Chinese take out. Got my food home, no pancakes for the pork, fried rice was burnt smelling and tasting I got a side of rice (in lue of the pancakes I assume) which was literally a container of rice paste and finally the Moo Shu was too big cuts of cabbage (Cole slaw mix??) and literally 15 matchstick pieces of pork, yes I took them out and counted them. I did save it and showed to another chef buddy who can over for some clams and beer and he just had to laugh it was so bad. The man at the counter was nice but that does not make up for my food. Ordered online. They didn't deliver until and hour and 20 mins later. I had to call and make sure it was coming. The food was cold when it arrived. They tacked on another 60cents to my bill and added a can of soda I didn't ask for. Don't bother with this place. read more
