Excellent lunch here today. Had several Dongbei dishes all very good. Beautiful interior, free off street parking, and friendly staff enhance the experience. Scan the QR code for items that are not in the printed menu.

Entrees aside, I absolutely detest the white rice they offered. It has a weird smell, and the texture is mushy. I simply can't eat it. I asked the Chinese server, and he said it's the "special Northern China blend"--well, that's not for me, period. I'm sure everyone from my region wouldn't like this rice.

My husband and I had dinner here on a weekend, and it was such a cozy spot! We made a reservation beforehand, so we didn't have to wait long for a table. We were led to a lovely table, and we both absolutely loved the atmosphere. The staff were so friendly. We tried the shrimp fried rice, wonton noodle soup, and kongpao chicken dishes. The kongpao chicken came with a cup of rice, which was a nice touch. Everything was delicious, and we're definitely planning to return. I highly recommend it to anyone who's craving Chinese food!

Probably did not get off to a good start being asked to wait as the host was working on something with his back to me. I then asked for a larger table to spread out, but was denied even though the entire place was empty. I was told that a larger table was meant to seat 2 to 4 people, and since it was only me, I had to sit at one of the three smallest tables. I will admit that he as well as the only other server were pretty friendly. The food took quite a long time to be prepared and I waited close to 20 minutes. I wouldn't have been concerned, except I was the only table!?! The food, tasted like it was prepared earlier and frozen, but thawed through the steaming process so not sure why it took so long. The texture was very chewy and not very fresh tasting. While there were plenty of shrimp dumplings to an order, much more so than the standard four that most dim sum places offer, I will say that there was definitely a difference in taste and not as good as I recall, but I did appreciate the generous amount. The beef dumplings had way too much dough, which was very chewy and not very flavorful with the small portion of beef. The shrimp Cheung fun was the highlight, but may have been drenched in too much sauce as pictured. The shrimp was very small and did not taste fresh. It did take quite a while to get a refill for my water which again was surprising since there was no one else in the restaurant and two servers. I originally had ordered an additional dumpling, but apparently they ran out. Since it was only 4 o'clock in the afternoon, I'm not sure how they could've run out? But aren't they all supposed to be handmade anyway? I'm not sure if I see this restaurant being able to compete as there are at least two other dim sum restaurants nearby and many more other options in this area.

Food: Absolutely delicious! We ordered 6 dishes for two of us (definitely over did it but everything sounded so good we couldn't help ourselves). My favorite was the Dan Dan Noodles & Buldak Fried Dumplings. Soup dumplings didn't have as much soup as I would have expected or preferred but the shrimp and crawfish were good. General Tso Chicken was good but I wouldn't order again. Beef steam buns were excellent! (probably the best steam buns I have ever had) Service; The staff was wonderful. We were seated immediately (went on a Sunday 4pm) Our server was helpful with the menu, attentive and friendly. Ambiance: Very cool spot. I would love to come when they are busier since we had the restaurant all to ourselves. Music was good and the place was very clean!

I really wanted to like this place, but it was just difficult. We wanted to celebrate my daughter's b-day and we decided on dimsum. We tried other places and Dim Sum King was relatively new in our radar so we wanted to try. From the moment we stepped in it was just unwelcoming. Most of the servers are young, and they all looked like their souls were sucked out. One Asian server saw us come in and just waved us to a table very nonchalantly. We had three different servers tending our table. I guess they knew what we ordered since they all had tablets attached to their waist, but it was very disorganized. Pot of tea we ordered did not come out until the end (and that is because we asked about it), then we were asked 3-4 times by different servers if we are ready for the check (no, the place was not packed, there were plenty of tables). We ordered: scallion pancake sichuan style fried pork pork soup dumpling combo pork with sour cabbage dumpling pan fried pork bun wood ear mushroom salad cumin flavor grilled lamb shank green orange peel tea The food was good, but we all agreed we did not feel full even after we had few entrees. Also, some of the entrees did not match the menu photos which was disappointing. I don't know if I will give this place another try. I think I will stick with the place we like.

Went back again and tried some more stuff. The spicy wontons hit again. This time also got the fish in hot oil, Sichuan pork shoulder, and the cumin lamb ribs. The pork shoulder was tender and soft. Is a fattier cut of meat so if like a braised pork belly with skin on will like this. The cumin lamb ribs were crispy and had great seasoning. Was a surprise hit. The fish in hot oil was great. Perfect spice level for me as wasn't just spicy, was tasty. Would recommend the lamb and the pork shoulder to anyone

Oh my GOD !!! Yes! I am literally addicted to this spot. First of all it looks unassuming from the outside, but you step inside and it's clean beautiful and very oriental. There's a lot small details that you will appreciate only if you visit. Now the menu is very meat forward, so I was skeptical, but the manager helped us out and wow ! The food is amazing, fresh and lip smacking! I loved the spicy sesame paste noodles, the shrimp dumplings and the spicy chicken noodles . I make it a point to stop here every time we are at Costco shopping !

This review combines both my visits. This place is a hidden gem. The dishes were tasty and reasonably priced. It is located next to KOP mall with plenty of parking spaces. Every dish we had, we did not disappoint. In our first visit, food came out right away! In the second visit, food arrived quite slowly as there were more people but the restaurant wasn't packed. We also noticed they hired an english speaking waitress in our second visit which is a plus. The interior was clean and you can see some workers wrapping dumplings at the back. The english name of the restaurant is a bit deceiving because they don't really serve morning dim sum. Lastly, when you spend over $30 you also get some small steam buns! Overall, food was great and we will return for sure!!!

Overall, this is more of a chinese restaurant as it does not have a lot of dimsum items so I can't say you should come here for that. They had maybe 2-3 items that may be considered dim sum to me. When I go for dimsum, I look for fresh rice noodles rolls with sweet soy sauce, siu mai, chicken feet, tripe, and pork ribs in small steam containers. They did have soup dumplings, but i don't consider that a part of dimsum. The crab and pork soup dumplings were delicious. The regular pork soup dumpling was lacking in flavor. This was more like a Chinese restaurant rather than a dim sum place (which is what I would think they had a large selection of by the name of the business - which was not the case). I would say it was just okay for me. I may come back and give their noodle soups a try, but I'm definitely not going there for 'dimsum' as I don't consider this a dimsum place contrary to the name.

The prices were also reasonable. My sister ordered several appetizers for the table, and then we each ordered an entree. For appetizers, we had the cucumber salad with garlic, the scallion pancake, and the shredded pig ear. The cucumber salad was fresh and tasty. I also enjoyed the scallion pancake with dipping sauce, but I was not a fan of the shredded pig ear with chili oil. The texture was just too rubbery. As an entree, I ordered and loved their huge bowl of hot and sour soup. It was one of the best hot and sour soups I've ever tasted. Although it says one serving, it was large enough to be a meal. The spice level was just right, and the broth was rich and complex. However, being at a restaurant known for soup dumplings, I had to try the Lucky Six Soup Dumplings which ranged from black truffle to crab meat and pork. It was fun trying each type of dumpling (6 total), with the black truffle being my favorite. Be advised, they can be a challenge to eat as you want to slurp up all the soup inside without any spilling out. We were allowed to bring our own cake which was served by their cool robot. Human service was also efficient! Overall, a fun experience at a unique restaurant.

(Note: if you only want smaller serving of their great, thick noodles, order $4 add-on as a side in place of rice with regular dish.) I always have leftovers to enjoy at home. Dumpling orders are large and shareable. (Always 6 or 8 pieces.) My fave when dining in is amazingly delicious and huge Fish Fillet in Hot and Sour Cabbage Broth. (That's best with rice side to help absorb broth.) So good and healthful to balance the dough density of whatever dumplings you might also order -- they're all great. When getting order to go (or delivered) I like Kung Pao Chicken; it travels well. Order added green veggie dish for sharing -- I lean toward Chinese Broccoli; you'll really want the balance with the delicious dumpling and noodle dishes. Over the years we've had many appetizers, but the pork and chive dumplings and all the soup dumplings are our favorite. We love crafting our own dipping sauces using the 4 different options on the table (dumpling sauce, chili sauce, vinegar, and soy sauce). Yum! We've also had many meals over the year, but our favorite is the lunch meal deal. This includes a smaller meal portion over rice for a lunch price. It keeps us coming back for lunch year after year! The chicken with garlic sauce is my absolute favorite. My husband mixes it up a lot, but he really enjoyed his orange chicken this time. One time we came for dinner with a large group and the servers took such good care of us. They even provided a chop-stick tool and guided demonstration for the kids with us. It was so sweet! In an area with several good Chinese restaurants, it makes its own unique contribution. The interior has been redone and refreshed. There is a large dining area both with booths and tables. Service is prompt and pleasant. The restaurant offers a great range of choices. When I went there this weekend, our party started with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, which was a wonderful accompaniment to the vegetable spring rolls and dumplings which the other diners ordered. I got the minced chicken and corn soup. I had never had it before because I shied away from any soup that included cream in it. I must tell you that there was only enough in it to give the soup a heft it would not have otherwise had. As for entrees, my wife loved her crispy sesame shrimp, and I tried-for the first time- the eggplant with garlic sauce, Chinese eggplant, in my opinion, tastes different from other eggplant dishes because it is not fried and instead is bathed in the special sauce of Jin Ding. The desserts looked wonderful, but none of us had room for the desserts. The restaurant is located on the site of a previous Chinese restaurant which, at one time, was prominent not only for excellence, but also for its innovative approaches to Chinese cuisine.
