I love that their menu changes so the offerings were different this time around we stopped in before a show at the Steelhouse, it was an easy walk to and from the venue. We ordered several appetizers and had drinks. The servers were friendly and the food was delicious. The Crudo was fresh and bright with a bite of spice. Burrata was soft and creamy with tamarind, orange and mint. Highly recommend the Steak Tartare the meat was velvety and the timmur chips had a great crunch for a contrast in texture. We started with the pork momo. We've had these before and they're always a great choice. The filling was rich and flavorful, the dumpling dough was perfectly chewy and the dipping sauces added another level of depth and flavor. For mains we split the duck breast and the tagliatelle. The duck was cooked perfectly and the bok choy that came with it added a perfect amount of crunch and mustard flavor. This is a place that has both great food and drinks, and I've never been disappointed with any of my choices here. The spicy margarita is my personal favorite, and they have drinks for every taste. The momo is my favorite menu item, having ordered both pork and chicken, both fried and steamed. While I love them both ways, fried is definitely my favorite. I also really like the sauce options for the side, where they have both sweet, savory, and spicy options. The menu has other great options too, though it's hard to not order the mono every time! Both indoor and outdoor dining options are nice, where inside can feel like a great date night spot since it's a little dark with moody lighting. Since we regularly attend performances at the Orpheum we are always looking for places nearby to dine beforehand or grab a drink afterwards - this place fits the bill! It's a theatre inspired restaurant just down the street. Their menu is small, but unique - great options to choose from and it's a nod to the theater with the appetizers being called the "First Act" and the desserts the "Final Bow". They also have specials based on the current production at the Orpheum. We went before The Outsiders and I ordered the "Stay Gold". Very attentive wait staff, beautiful moody vibe, and they take reservations. They also have live music so check their website for that! The 2 reasons I didn't give 5 stars is because with the open kitchen it got a little smoky at times, and it's a little rougher corner in Omaha with people experiencing homelessness. I've been here three times over the course of a couple months now (one time included Omaha Restaurant week) and I can confidently say Cattle Call is one of the TOP restaurants in Omaha! Starting small, this place is perfect for date nights or elevated nights out with friends and family. The dark lighting and cool decor create such a fun atmosphere that makes me feel like I'm not in Omaha, but a bigger city! The service has been fantastic all three times with attentive and accommodating hostesses and servers (I'm still so thankful the staff put tables together for one of my groups to sit out on the patio!) Speaking of, the patio is beautiful and so fun when it's a nice night! The food is FABULOUS! The first time I came, I nearly blacked out eating because it was so good. Stopped in here looking for a drink Friday night and was surprised to find the origins of my favorite place in Inner Rail! We sat at the bar and had a nice time and the bartender was fantastic. He was super helpful and offered suggestions and answered all of our questions. I tried the lychee martini and my friend had an amaretto sour. Both good but I don't know if lychee is for me. We then got the chicken momos, mine steamed and hers fried. Unfortunately, they don't have soup momos like Inner Rail does but the steamed momos were so good I didn't mind. So juicy and flavorful. We had a fantastic experience at Cattle Call a few weeks ago. We went before a show at the orpheum and I am shocked at the lack of business it had at the time especially after our meal. It was a weekday but still it's not even a block away on a cold winter evening. People going other places are missing out. The place was decorated for Christmas with just the right touches. The red lighting and some darkness with the table top lamps really give off a great dinner atmosphere. The staff was great, answered questions and was on top of checking in. We started with the house Pinot noir which was good. For an appetizer we got the Aloo chops which are a fried potato patty in a turmeric batter that gives them a little extra something served with the mango habanero sauce which just takes them to another level. They were fried perfectly crisp with a nice texture to the potatoes. Definitely recommend. We then split the pork steamed momos which were fantastic as always. We got the sweet chili sauce which my wife preferred and I preferred the mango habanero. Honestly they have such good flavor you don't need sauce. Then we also split the tagliatelle which was perfectly aldente. The black garlic butter was a perfect base. The portion was kinda small and served on a huge plate so made it look even smaller but we both left full and happy. Definitely check this place out.
