However, it has been over 122 hours since my MRI and the physician's report has not been completed or sent to my referring doctor. The website claims 24 hours. The front desk said it "usually is done in 24-48" hours. But here I am over 5 days later without any answers. After having my insurance company come and threaten action on their part, I was finally told that my scan would be read in the next hour. So I'm not sure if I recommend them or not. I say go at your own risk of not getting results in a timely manner

I just recently found out about this location when I was making an appointment. What I like the…read moremost is that there is no fee for parking (not like the Bethesda location). There were two entrances to get into the parking lot and once you are parked, the building is right there. The entrance to the building faces Observation Drive. Once parked, enter building 20410, walk up the stairs, go right and WRA will be the 2nd entrance on your right (glass doors). Enter, check in and have a seat. The employees I interacted with were very pleasant, especially the lady at the front desk. Had a great conversation. Once your name is called, you will get the opportunity to check your items into a wooden locker (you are in charge of the key during your appointment). As you check out and retrieve your items, you then just leave the key on the outside of the locker (how you saw it before accessing it). There is signage providing where to dispose of your gown after your appointment. This location has been opened for a year (shared by one of the employees) and just based on service, experience, and location, I will definitely be back for sure.

I have had significant issues with charges being more than quoted over the phone, incomplete communication about authorization, deductibles, and other things. However, generally speaking, they have gotten the job done. I don't like that parking needs validation and they only validate up to 1.5 hours - and some mammograms take longer with ultrasound and additional imaging. They also can be a bit short over the phone, and fail to provide context that other radiology facilities might be more inclined to include. However, I do appreciate that this location has a broad range of services available and is prompt with answering calls and attempting to answer questions. Never my first choice as there are some amazing radiologist in the area, but a lot of them have inconvenient appointment times and can take months to schedule. I wouldn't suggest parking on the street, as the police ticket cars immediately when the meter expires. The parking garage is also an issue when going for a first mammogram as they tend to take longer. For subsequent visits, they are good about getting patients out very quickly while still doing what needs to be done. Though, you may feel rushed, I do like it better this way than worrying about having to pay for going over time in the parking garage. One thing I don't like about them is that they had been charging $20 for a CD to bring back to your provider. The other radiologists that I've been to have never charged me for a CD, so I was very disappointed as my provider was shocked that the CD costs exta and she prefers the CDs to go over the findings with patients in an extended consultation with lots of visuals - she apparently needs to CD to do this effectively, so I was not able to receive the same level of detail about my treatment plan that I previously received, due to having my imaging done at Tower Radiology. I hope that they reconsider this charge. Anyway, I think it is better to know what to expect going into it. I added an extra star for convenience.

I have always had great experiences with the technicians and front office staff for my mammograms. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that sometimes finding availability in their schedule can be an issue. I showed up on the day of the service with a printout from my insurance company showing how much it should cost. I also had a person name I spoke with and a reference number from my insurance company. I made it very, very, very, very clear when I checked in that I would pay no more for this service than what was represented to me by my insurance company. The Community rep stepped away from the counter and disappeared for over 15 minutes and came back saying "all is fine" your portion of the bill will be the $29. Fast forward about a week after...and...SHOCKER...I get a bill for $234. It has been nearly 60 days, 6 phone calls to Community Radiology, one call to my insurance company. My insurance company calling, faxing and mailing the Explanation of Benefits to Community Radiology and me emailing it 9 times to Community Radiology and it is finally resolved. I found the reps on the phone to be out of this country, poorly trained and incredibly dumb. Again, the procedure was fine, the post billing service was beyond poor.

I've come to this AAR location for the past 2 years to get my annual mammogram. I've been to some shoddy looking doctor's offices and this one was very nice. It wasn't overly noisy, although on my first visit a woman proceeded to give her whole debit card number to someone over the phone, in clear listening presence of the entire waiting room. Literally, everyone was looking at her like she was crazy, but I digress. The staff was professional and efficient. They always gave clear direction on where to go and what I needed to do. When conducting the exam itself, again, the staff is always very professional and efficient with their actions. The front and back were both kept clean and neat. I don't think I've ever waited an unreasonable amount of time to get to the back. I mean I always bring a book in prep for any wait time, but I've never had to complain about it; so I know it likely wasn't longer than 30 min. I wouldn't make any Dr appt like this on my lunch hour so if the wait time is an issue for you, schedule accordingly, this is not a drive-thru. Also, arriving early for your appt will not make them bring you back any faster. It just doesn't work that way. Different people come in for different things; so don't get bent because someone is seen ahead of you that arrived after you. Ya'll should know how this works by now.
