I have seen Dr. C. twice now, first time was for an extraction back in Oct 2020 and then again today Feb 2021 to have the implant set in my jaw. Both time his staff has been very friendly and helpful. Dr. C. get the job done quickly and from I am able to tell correctly the first time around. Only reason I am not giving a 5 star is, that Dr. C. seems all about business, his chiarside manner could improve a little. Not sure if it was the nature of my appts or not. I would still HIGHLY recommend this practice to anyone looking. read more

I had an emergency case and I am a brand new patient. A very pleasant and professional front desk clerk got me booked in the same day. I had no trouble getting paperwork done and getting my dental problem taken care of right away. The whole place was spotlessly clean and cheerful and had a beautifully decorated lobby. The clinical rooms were warm and cozy and felt comfortable. I was offered a snuggly blanket to lay over my legs during my visit. The doctor came in right away and got me numb with no pain. Then they extracted my troublesome molar and did a bone graph and I got stitches. I was still numb when I left. I got excellent after-care medicine: oral rinse, antibiotic, and pain relief. I'll go back in a week for a check-up. The whole experience was so fast and effortless. I strongly recommend Winchester Oral Surgery Center for special dental needs. read more

Unfortunately, it's been many, many, years since I've been to the dentist. I don't think at any given time did I ever go to the dentist routinely. My wisdom teeth have been bothering me and I was referred to Winchester Oral Surgery Center. First there was a consultation to figure out what needed to happened (teeth extraction), how many teeth, etc. The doctor was very efficient and told me all the things I should and shouldn't do pre-operation and post-operation. I think I've been under anesthesia once when I was a kid. So I was a little nervous about all of this. EVERYONE at the office before and after my surgery were very pleasant and easy to talk to. I honestly felt like I was asleep for 5-10 minutes. I was in and out of the office all within an hour. I"m still very impressed by how quick this was. As for the recovery, the doctor told me to not use a straw or smoke-neither were a problem with me. They gave me a small pamphlet that I lived by to help me do everything right. I was working after 3 days of recovery. No issues whatsoever. Would recommend! If I have to do any oral surgery again I'm absolutely coming here. read more

I JUST arrived home after having Dr. Starley extract my far back tooth while under anesthesia. It couldn't have gone better- absolutely flawless. I'm so happy that I chose to do this at Winchester Oral Surgery Center. Normally I travel to Loudoun to have all my health care needs provided for. A big reason for this is because of past experiences with doctors who quite frankly don't hold themselves to higher standards in patient care. In addition to just not wanting to deal with feeling like an outsider as a gay person because of a lack of diversity as is often the case in many medical practices here. This is NOT the case with Dr. Starley & Winchester Oral Surgery Center. He and his team have a terrific sense of inclusiveness. Also i shared with them the challenges I've had with anesthesia through multiple surgeries- nausea & waking up before surgeries are finished. Dr. Starley didn't dismiss my concerns at all, but assured me he'd take care of these issues in his administration of the anesthesia. Before i even knew it the extraction was over and i was on my way back home. No one wants to deal with the thought of removing a tooth, but if I ever need those kinds of services again I'll go right to Winchester Oral Surgery Center...and it's only a mile from my home. Getting an implant at WOSC was mostly painless. Dr. Coviello was friendly and very competent. The staff work well together and were friendly. I would ask for a print out of the procedure steps and charges next time. They were discussed but the overall number of office visits and charges became rather confusing. But - the cost was reasonable, I liked Dr. Coviello and I would return again if necessary. read more

I think he was quick and to the point, almost robotic but it was just a quick consultation - it is expected. The Dr. even cracked a couple small jokes to make me feel more comfortable. After hearing horror stories about wisdom teeth extractions I definitely get a sense of anxiety walking into this. However after getting 6 teeth removed (4 wisdom teeth, 2 for Invisalign) I feel 95% percent normal. This was only done yesterday, the whole process took 30 minutes and I have no recollection of pain or discomfort. All I get was slightly disoriented for a short time and just a slight swollen tenderness. As for pain it's literally a 2/10 and reminder I was very apprehensive going into this. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and Dr. Coviello made sure to answer all of my questions. I would highly recommend. And if anyone were to ask in the future this is where I would send them hands down. Thank you Dr. Coviello and thank you to the great team that helped take care of me yesterday. read more

The lady who handles the billing for Dr. Starley, completed mishandled my request to file the visit to my dental insurance, claiming she had no record that she had even spoken with me. I will not be back to this office or recommend it to family & friends. read more

The entire staff is great, but Dr. Coviello is the MAN!! Who wants to have oral surgery if they don't have to? If you think you might have to, this is the place to go. Man, before I went here, I was terrified. HOWEVER: now I have had 3 extraordinarily good experiences in this office with this knowledgeable and personable doctor. Dr. Coviello explained everything that was going to happen, he and his staff put me completely at ease, the procedures happened in a comfortable, safe-feeling environment and were quick and PAINLESS. I was seen on time, which is notable in any medical/dental office and the post-op including directions they gave me and meds given made recovery as quick as possible. Great place, no waiting. It took me an hour to drive there, but it was the only place within an hour from my house, who can accommodate me on short notice. I had consultation and biopsy done in one visit, they made the appointment in such time so that I did not fight rush traffic and I was in and out in less than one hour. At the recommendation of my dentist, I was referred to the Oral Surgery Center to get an estimate on some major surgery in expectation of dentures. However, even though it would have been profitable for the Surgery Center to simply follow up as requested, I was very gratified to see that the Dr. Coviello - true to his professional integrity as a medical practitioner - recommended a more targeted solution that would leave most of my teeth intact and result in cost savings for me. In an era when everyone seems to be looking to make as much profit as they can, it is wonderful to discover this sort of integrity and truly independent consultation. The staff was wonderful and the doctor was personable, extremely knowledgeable, and explained everything in very clear and practical terms. read more

I had several teeth removed and was greatly disappointed in the service. Part of an experience with a business is not only the oral surgery but the follow up and the financial end of the service. I found them lacking on all areas. I explained when I went in that my normal dentist has to give me more Novocain than most patients because I don't numb easily. Even when I told them I was not numb they still proceeded and caused me a lot of pain. The cost was more than I was quoted on the phone. So I paid them an amount down and was going to bring them a check in within 90 days. I had a car accident and had to have surgery, so I called and told them that I would be an extra 2 months before I could pay them. The person on the phone said she understood and that it would not be an issue. I took in the balance of what I owed within the 2 months. They apparently had already sent my account to collections and even though I paid off the whole amount I owed I have a credit company named CFW attempting to collect. The dental office says I need to take it up with CFW and CFW says the dental office needs to be the one that clears this up. They have even reported on my credit report. Oh and to top it off they never followed up on my oral surgery. So in my personal opinion they have failed on all areas of their business. I would never recommend them unless you don't mind pain and would like to be hounded by a creditor that you don't owe money to. read more

My 17 year old daughter had upper and lower orthognathic jaw surgery in June 2014. Dr. Coviello and his staff at Winchester Oral Surgery were and are the best in the business! The before and after care with such a major surgery was incredible. Dr. Coviello is so patient and went over every step numerous times with my daughter. She is still in after care and has had an additional bone graft for a tooth implant at his Falls Church, VA office. We choose to travel from Maryland to Virginia to Winchester Oral Surgery because of Dr. Coviello's talent. Such a life altering experience was made so comfortable! Dr. Coviello replaced two implants and added two more. I had no pain and even after five days I have no pain. Very little discomfort. My jaws were swollen, but not painful. The "sewing" job on my gum was superb. He should have been a seemstress. Wonderful chairside manner. I recommend them highly!! read more
