The wash was good but the service was terrible. The guy covered my car with soap while I was in line and then yelled at me for not moving forward when I couldn't even see out of my soap-covered windshield. Then he told me to keep moving forward PAST the pay station, and then accused me of stealing by going into the drive through without paying, despite the fact that he told me to keep going. I decided to stop reading Yelp reviews and just drive around to find a car wash. As soon as the man came out making people move their cars up and spraying our cars with soap, I knew I had read the bad reviews for this one. The car wash itself just takes a while, especially the ones that cost more, so there was no reason to make anyone move up... there wasn't anywhere to go. I was second in line and the woman ahead of us was having issues with the machine and was parked back by the machine, I could see the red light so it didn't bother me that she wasn't moving up since the car wash itself takes at least 5 minutes per car. I guess there was a back up of cars extending past the entrance of the car wash because a man can up and started knocking on our windows and telling us to move up, we weren't sure he worked there until he started spraying our cars with soap. I still needed to pull my car up, get out and pay and couldn't see where he was because all of my windows were soapy. He then stood there as I was trying to pay and made me super nervous, the machine kept declining my card (I used it right before and right after so I don't know what the issue was) so I used my husbands on the third try. This man took the card and was trying to do it for me but didn't ask me which of the 3 car wash options I wanted and then kept putting the card in the wrong way. He definitely made the car wash more stressful than it needed to be. Car wash was fine. I would've preferred no contact with any employees unless there was an issue. Their car wash does a decent drive-thru-wash quality job of cleaning, but a terrible job of drying so bring your own towel. Easily the dirtiest, nastiest, pigeon infested car wash I've ever seen. There is a dead pigeon in the wash. The area is disgusting looking and you can tell no one really cares to keep up the appearance. I paid for the wash when I bought gas so I was locked in, but I will never come back and now I feel like I need to re-wash my car. Go somewhere else. Don't give these people your money. Yesterday on 9-1-14 I went to Shell (1025 Winchester Bl. San Jose, Ca.) to gas up and get a car wash. I needed air first and went to the air station, it clearly states that I HAVE to pay. I went inside and specifically and clearly asked "do I have to pay for air" I was told "YES". I said even if I purchase gas and a car wash he once again replied "YES". After we scrounged for 4 quarters and put them in, I saw the free sign (conveniently placed in a non visible location). I went inside and said, you told me that I had to pay, it says free? He said he NEVER said that, I spoke clearly and heard your response, you told me that I had to pay! He again denied it and basically called me a liar. I would have left at this point but because time was important my girlfriend was already gassing up the car. At this point I must admit I was angry, I was loud and cussing, he again repeatedly and completely denied what he had told me. I told him I would be contacting the proper people about this (he did not care). I intend on standing 100% on my principles here and will see this through as it is a violation of California Law (AB 531). To add insult to injury, the car wash was awful! I was just here a week and a half ago. Had a great experience. Today none of my credit cards worked on the car wash machine, so I had to go inside and speak with the attendant to notify him of the machine not working properly. His response was no on else complaints. I was thinking to myself was this the same car wash place that I had just praised? I had him run my card on the register and no problem. Next time I will go to another car wash. I dont need the rude service. I will also send a complaint to Shell corporate. However the new car wash machine is awesome. read more

Car wash is good for people who consistently wash their car because it helps with mild dirt. Dryer doesn't help that much but gets the job done. I would only use this if I kept doing it every week or every other week... not if I accumulated a lot of dirt already because it wouldn't clean it as much. read more

Car washes range from $9-13 here. I purchased the mid range wash which supposedly has excellent drying. The wash itself is great, the drying is so so, plenty of spots left on the windshield but hey, it's a gas station wash. Only 10 cents off per gallon with a fill so since its Shell, you're not saving much. read more

My credit card information was skimmed off of their outside Gas Pumps. I was in San Jose for a work event and stopped by the Gas station for a quick fill up. I was a little skeptical as the place is not well kept and the car wash was full of Pigeons. For that reason alone, I used a credit card I have not used in over 5 months. Sure enough within 12 hours my card number had been skimmed/stolen off their machine and was being used fraudulently to make purchases. Even Bank of America agreed, given how little I use this card, that this was 100% where my info was skimmed from. Buyer beware. Avoid this Gas Station at all costs. read more

This auto shop has saved my bacon on 2 occasions, and I am long overdue for writing a review. This is what a neighborhood gas station/auto shop should be like. First, I managed to get my car hood stuck - the latch wouldn't operate. It was necessary because I had to drive to a windshield repair shop on a rainy day to get the cracked windshield replaced, but first I had to repair my wipers, which had blown apart on Hwy 101 during a downpour the day before. In the attempt to fix my wipers, I managed to screw up the latch. This happened 2 days after I had surgery, my other car had problems as well, and I was at the end of my vehicle rope, so to speak. I live near Winchester and Williams and went to the Shell station on a Sunday morning, expecting it to be closed, and the mechanic fixed the latch, got the wipers functional, and lowered my blood pressure for no charge. Perhaps my car distress was plain to see. Eternally grateful. Second, on the day before a month-long work trip, I realized I had 3 days to get my son's car smogged. Again, I run to the closest smog station, Winchester Shell, about 6 pm on a Saturday. Almost closing time. He asked me if I brought a coupon. Ever the bargain hunter, I offered to drive back home and print the on line coupon. No worries, he said, I'll give you the $20 coupon, just write a yelp review. My 1987 truck passed the smog, no problems, and no late fees, This guy is just nice. Give him your business. You won't regret it. read more

What a rip off! We pulled into the car wash and the sign said 1 & 5$ only. We only had a ten and figured we would try it. The machine took the bill and we got an 8$ wash, but no change. My wife went to the office to ask for the change and the clerk said the machine did not take tens. He refused to give us our change saying is we came back Monday his boss would open the machine and if there was a ten, he would give us change. Ive been going to this gas station for a min. Today I went to vacuum my car and the vaccum didnt start. I told the attendant and he replied "yiu nhave to wait a a momenr to it to start"!. The machine never started. I suggested that a small sign be put there. He then relied. " your the first customer that complains". Wow!
