You drive up to a spot to get the wash. Wait till they're done, get a thumbs up and then move to the drying station. They dry and as they dry, they will come to ask for payment (cash only). We gave them my wife's 530i after I changed the valve cover gasket and the oil filter housing gasket. The engine and bay were gross. After a visit to this place it was 90% clean. A bit of work with engine cleaner and some brushed after and you could eat off the engine. Pricey at $348, but there is virtually no competition, so they control the market. $348 per hour is rich to be sure, but they were professional and got the job done. No, it isn't where you take your Bentley for a full detail. However if you're driving a 7 year old Honda and it needs to be cleaned they will do it quickly and cheap. Really where else in San Jose can you get a full service car wash for $10? Warning - you may pay more if you want spray wax, vacuum, inside windows cleaned, etc. It's ala carte. That said, I didn't take my vehicle in for a car wash. My RMS (rear main seal) failed twice and that results in large oil leaks that make a mess of everything. I found this business on Yelp several years ago and had the full steam cleaning service done on my classic BMW. Having the engine bay and undercarriage cleaned from the grime and oil leaks made DIY projects easier for the three years that followed. Bought a 38 year old Porsche recently and called these guys up last week. Made an appointment for Saturday morning and brought down the car. Although the service was a bit pricier than I remember ($500 total), having decades of oil leaks and road grime erased from the undercarriage is well worth it to me, especially helpful in troubleshooting an older vehicle. I went in for a full engine/undercarriage cleaning on my very small car. A friend told me it ran less than $300 at this shop, but the guy working (He said his name was Andrew though it didn't match the name on his suit) charged me $550 instead. He was not transparent about pricing, didn't show me a list of prices. Him and his coworker kept saying how much they had charged people in the past and changing the subject to complimenting my car. He worked from 9:35 to 10:25. His coworker literally did zero work and just interrupted me. I should have walked away but the pricing caught me by surprise and there's no where else local that has an industrial steam-cleaning setup. In my opinion, worth every penny...remember you're not gonna be doing this every month. I don't regret getting it all done at once! It looks so good! I took my Aurora there March 2020 and his employee was pointing the nozzle of the steam cleaner w all its force really close to all the plugs condensers and hoses while i was cringing because i knew it was not the way to steam clean an engine w the nozzle 2 inches away from all sensitive computer and electric devices that are sensitive to being wet or can be.... Sure enough my car started and immediately went to the highest rpms.......just raging! Well the tow truck came and the owner gave me my money back and i absorbed the $150 bucks my mechanic charged me to fix it... I have used this steam cleaner (under previous ownership) for decades prior to my horrible experience today. New owner, Brian Do did a terrible job steam cleaning my 1957 Mercury convertible. The complete undercarriage and engine compartment is still greasy and dirty. In no way did I expect it to look new nor am I unreasonable but I'm basing this visit on many in the past under previous ownership. This situation developed into a heated yelling match as he would not acknowledge the poor job that he performed nor would he renegotiate his price. Brian lifted the car on his hoist and threatened damage to the car unless I paid him $450 in cash. He referred to me as a stupid old man (64) who doesn't know anything about steam cleaning or old cars (I have 120 old cars in my collection). After waiting 2 hours for San Jose Police to intervene, I thought it best to pay him and move on. Little bit of backstory--I recently purchased my dream car from the East Coast and it was covered in salt/sand/road grime from one of the infamous "salt belt" states. Needless to say I am glad I went with the overall. My Undercarriage is clean. I can now see all the Heat Shields looking like a Knight in Shining Armor. My Engine Bay is...BAM, POW, DAYUM THAT IS CLEAN. A Non-Dealership Mechanics Dream. HAHAHA AHEM. (hey wait, I just realized something Jim owner and the boss, Scott steam cleaner and listens to Jim, Kirk me the customer, what the!?!?!?! Star Trek? Did you Trekkies notice? nah) OK so am I happy? Scott and I looked at the undercarriage and noticed that there was a factory bar code sticker that is LEGIBLE to read (haha this is weird Scotty and Kirk looking at a car all we need was McCoy and Spock). Didn't even know there was a label on the chassis. OH and there was Bump Stop as well that is Orange. All this time I thought it was black. OK , ok enough of the Trekkie Stuff. Again this not some Auto Detailer High Powered PSI Water Pressure Hose where the water can sit for quite sometime and possibly stall your engine. This is BOILER Steam Cleaning at its best!! Exceptional customer service and outstanding results! I am very impressed with the friendly, knowledgable, hardworking staff. The cost is very reasonable for the high quality work they perform. I recently called late in the morning to schedule a top-and-bottom engine steam-cleaning so my mechanic can locate an engine leak. Andrew, who is one of the owners, was happy to accommodate my last-minute request for a noontime appointment the same day. When I arrived, he introduced himself with a big smile, and he professionally maintained the current six-foot social distancing rule. When my car was up on the rack, Andrew thoroughly described the process. I waited only 30 minutes in their patio area while Andrew meticulously steam-cleaned 21 years' worth of oil, grease and grime from the entire engine compartment, and he also steam-cleaned the entire undercarriage. Important note this review is for the Car Wash side. Not the steam cleaning side. DO NOT GO HERE!! This company is aweful! They totally scratched my car all over the hood and part of the side! Because I didn't notice until I got out of my car, when I returned they were closed so I called the guy on the phone and went in the next morning. Without looking at it one of the owners starts yelling at me in Vietnamese with 1 english sentence "No Way Man".... and accuses me of scratching my own car. I don't know if the guy drying my car had a watch or ring on, or if he dropped the cloth and picked up a rock in it, no idea ...but you can OBVIOUSLY see its in a swirl motion in the same pattern they dried it!!
