One of the best convenience stores/supermarkets I've ever been to. Not only did they have everything that I needed, but they also had everything at a reasonable price. 5 star for a warehouse grocery. Smaller Winco, so it doesn't have everything. E.g. no bakery and their meat department is not open late and mostly packages stuff ahead of time to sell. However it is similarly set up. They do sell their bakery bread (from another store). They stock their yummy kettle corn. Their prices are great. Unless it's a great sale at the other grocery stores, Winco usually has it cheaper or at the same price. Clean with ample parking. Lines do take awhile but they have self check out for 10 items or less. Remember no credit taken here; bring your ATM card or use your phone debit card. The strange, older man in the Santa hat, apparently working the self service area, spent most of his time "helping" the female customers (who clearly didn't need help) rather than performing any real service to anyone. When my checkout stand failed (as per design) I found myself standing by, waiting for this person to finish his creepy interactions. Of course he was very put out for having to do actual work (although at least he did eventually do it) before returning to his strange, female-centric, close talking. This Santa hat fellow was the replacement for another person who was too transfixed by his phone to do anything at all, so I guess Santa Hat was an upgrade? read more

First thing is this is my Favorite location! And I love the 5am time! It offers an opportunity to shop in the early mornings before it gets too busy. It is clean and very organized. The restrooms are very clean and fresh. The cashiers and most employees you encounter are very sweet. They appear to be happy to help. This is a good place to pick up bulk items without the club fees. It offers my favorite meat to prepare picadillo. I love their tamales. The cooked chicken here is delicious on days when you do not feel like cooking. I do not feel so overwhelmed shopping here when it early in the morning. I am able to navigate through and finish fairly quickly with a list. Without a list, it takes longer and end up with things that we shouldn't have but very tasty to eat. This place is a good place to come if you have to plan trips to park or a road trip. It has most things you need to be well stocked. I also like to stock "my Mommy bag". Well if you have children or grandchildren or even a grumpy spouse when they have been out and have munchies. I don't carry diapers but I pretty much have to keep snacks and wipes in my Mommy bag. This store gives us a variety of things to put in my Mommy bag. It is a life saver on long days of running errands. This store has a different vibe than all the other Wincos. I have a favorite one and this is it. The other ones seem to be a bit different . Well I will suggest anyone who comes to bring their reusable bags or bags with handles. I have a few paper bags with handles so they are good for bread. And bring a cold bag for frozen things like ice cream. The bags they offer in store do tear easily . Yes! You will have to complete the task of bagging your own groceries. So plan accordingly if you have to buy a load of stuff. Or if you do invest in a foldable cart and not that upright kind. Get a small wagon kind. It is great and will be quicker than bagging. Yes I read reviews about bagging your own food but this stuff is cheap and just get a small wagon. Your shopping experience is all about how you handle it here. And this place is a good place to get cheap stuff. I realize too not all good places can deliver to your home. This one is a place you have to just go to see. I like what I see here at Tacoma Winco(not the Tacoma 72nd). I just wanted to add that clarity because there are two in Tacoma. read more

I like this WinCo better then the other one in Tacoma. It's cleaner, has better selection, and they have better prices. They usually have a good amount of the yellow tags so you can even get better deals if you go at the right time. read more

My only problem is this, the line for the registers can be long with people who have 100 plus items, self checkout can be completely empty 8-10 self checkout open and God forbid that you have 15-25 items in your cart cause the lady will count all your items in your cart and tell you, you cant use self checkout. She wants you to wait in a 20 minute line vs 3 mins checking out your own item. That lady might as well stand in front of the self checkout line and just start counting items from there. A bit ridiculous if you ask me read more

So so happy there's an additional WinCo Foods in the Tacoma area. This location is the former Safeway that is near the bowling alley and shopping center. This WinCo is smaller than your average store, but you will still find mostly of what you need. You will definitely see the difference in size. I was looking for some particular things in a certain brand that other locations would normally have, but noticed they don't carry them. They have a huge produce section, extensive bulk section, all of my usual veggie foods, and even reasonably priced seasonal items and beauty care/toiletries. Winco has been a great store for us since it opened. It has lots of area for the carts to be moved around when the store is full. It is nice that its open 24 hours as it gives us emergency time to get something when we dont have it. They have their own Mac n Cheese packs that is super awesome. We have a family of 6 and the kids love it a lot. You need to try this out. The cheese pack is not powder. If you add milk to it the sauce is beautiful. The Deli people are really awesome at all of their stores we have been to. Sumner, Spanaway and Tacoma we visit frequently. The management takes care of the customers very well and when there is a lot of people, they call out to their cashiers and fill a register to accommodate their flood of people. The prices are very good on all products. Their fruits, vegies, their produce is well kept and its unbelievable how long it stays in the frig or counter till we get ready to process salads or other. Their bakeries are like....ohhh man, so good and the doughnuts are something that should never be missed. I love the apple fritters. Great with coffee in the morning. There is lots of parking and we enjoy a walk so we park far away. It gives others up close parking. We dont mind walking. The Spanaway store has the biggest parking lot I have seen for a store that size. Good Job WinCo. I learned the workers are paid fairly and have really nice options for a good start in work and a good plan into the future. We have 6 in this family and when the kids run around, they have fun chatting with everyone. The amount of time we are there, the Deli people who have been around for a while, know us well and are always happy to see us smiling and the kids enjoying the store. We are a royal like family so we like to eat things in the store so the kids have something to keep their mouths from making other noises. Lol. Deli has corn dogs and burritos, the cold section has deli meats as well there are packed deli snacks we all munch on. We are well known as we always place the empty wrappers with the price tag in the front of our items we place on the conveyer belt so when it gets to the cashier....they ring it up and if its empty they toss it unless we mention we want to keep it. This store is a 10 star for us. All of them. And WinCo, thank you for being such a very great store. President Trump would be proud of you. read more

Love this grocery store! I enjoy doing my grocery shopping here. It carries a lot of choices with decent prices. Bulk items include noodles, rice, candy, etc, etc. lots to choose from. Just wish there were more parking spaces. read more

You were so awesome today to assist me in getting the size butterball Turkey I wanted. Several of you went above and beyond to locate the size I needed and it was not easy to locate.
