I was decompressing in Gig Harbor for the weekend and spent a lot more time in the grocery store than I'd anticipated. But what a grocery store. Everything here is so artfully arranged, I felt like I was in a calendar shoot for fresh produce. Gorgeously stacked peppers, esthetically arrangements of frisee lettuce and green onions. Plus THE COOKIE. Plus, the poke was on point. I'd definitely hang out in their upstairs cafe to have lunch and work on my laptop again.

They make the best coffee. All the staff who work there always nice and make amazing drink. Sandwich was good and donuts was perfect dessert the end. We were setting upstairs and lots of space and nice views.

You can find anything and everything fresh here! Great local market with high quality items, produce, baked goods, hot prepared food, take and bake in house packaged items, supplements, and so much more. I always walk out with more than I walked in to get. The desserts and in house prepared foods are my favorite. Delicious lunch or quick dinner ideas, and finish it off with a dessert. I grabbed a quick grocery bite to eat, the PBJ with strawberry jam and fresh strawberries! Yum! The cashiers are always friendly and helpful with bagging, and they have a quick self checkout stand if needed. It seems like an upscale vibe, but it's pretty laidback and a good place to get specialty items.

Beautiful inside for sure. Prices much higher however. Sushi is tasty. The price for an 11 oz tray just went way up though.

We order a 3-pc halibut/chips $15, a bowl of clam chowder and 2 soda cans. Came to $31 before tip. You order at the trolley window and you pick food up there when ready. They have covered and uncovered seating area very convenient. Order took about 10-12 minutes. Glad we ordered 3 pc fish as they were very small portions, a different coating...tasted like corn/masa, not too heavy but a bit gummy on inside. For fresh halibut it wasn't a stand out unfortunately. Ample fries ( crinkle cut) that were crispy, like the sprinkle of herb (parsley?), although we smelled a slightly fishy smell unclear if fries cooked in same fish oil, tarter good. We only had a taste of the chowder because we find it nearly impossible to enjoy properly with a small plastic spoon. One ends up spilling more down the front of you then consuming. We brought home, it was nice and creamy (butter added richness) and appreciated not tasting like bacon or being a chunky potato soup. I would order again, $8 fair price for bowl. Curious to try other menu options like steam clams, calamari, etc.

After a fun day in Seattle, but not being able to find a place to eat without paying $35 to park or…read morefind a table (for a late lunch), I remembered that some friends of ours took us to an amazing seafood place in Tacoma right next to the water...but hidden away from all the large and corporate-type restaurants on Rustin Way. I couldn't remember the name of the place, but we found it: The Fish Peddler! We must have arrived at a perfect interval because there was a table for two that had just been bussed and ready for us near the large counter in the back where food was collected by servers and presented to hungry patrons at any of the 30-40 tables. Our server was genuinely warm and delightful and guided us to the menu and the on-line beer on tap information. Drinks were ordered and delivered in minutes - just enough time for us to announce our selections: A 3-piece halibut and chips for her, and for me, the albacore tuna with spring greens and gouda cheese on sourdough with a pint of I'm Not Afraid Of Music. It had the lowest alcohol content, and since I was driving, didn't want to push my luck. When our huge white dinner plates arrived - oh - did I mention the amazing jalapeño coleslaw? - we were amazed at the size of the perfectly deep fried halibut - which, on their own, provide a good bite, making only a smitten of tartar sauce necessary because you gotta have tartar sauce with fried fish, after all, right? I picked up one my sandwich haves and removed the toothpick with too much gusto and suffered a small splinter that I couldn't remove until I got home a couple of hours later with the help of a magnifying glass, a tweezer and some masking tape. But I ignored the splinter while I enjoyed my "this is NOT your mom's - or HER mom's - Tuna melt". The perfect balance of the albacore spread with the gouda showing up gloriously in almost every bite, the pillowy and cool greens and tomato slice that balanced the heat from the albacore between the two lightly toasted sourdough was my Valentine's Day gift to my mouth. We were stuffed, but not defeated - we ordered our cheesecake to go, and I get to have the last piece of halibut for a snack later on! It was great getting re-acquainted with This cozy, fun, busy restaurant since our last (and first) visit 3 years ago. My only regret is that for some unknown but surely inexcusable reason, I had waited three years before returning. Won't happen again.

This is a casual place, but the food is quality. We got the fish and chips, which were perfectly crispy. The black cod miso was superb. Very fresh and light and flaky and flavorful. We also got the lobster roll. It definitely rivals a lobster roll from the east coast. The service was great. They took care of everything well. This isn't fancy, but it's just a good seafood place for friends, business or families.
