Absolutely lovely stay! Beautiful views, and my Husky enjoyed exploring the property as much as I did.

    LODGE 902

My husband and I only had time for a one night getaway from Portland for our anniversary and we are…read moreSO glad we chose to stay at Lodge 902 even for just one night. Our room was so cozy (and in this case that isn't code for "small": we had a king size bed and the room still felt spacious) with an electric fireplace and comfortable bed with giant pillows. Our bathroom had a giant, beautiful soaking tub which we did take advantage of and even my 6' tall husband found it comfortable. Everything other reviewers have stated is true: it is charming, comfortable and fun. The design and decor all feel thoughtful and natural. Every space is inviting and it seems there is something delightful to see around every corner: a DIY photo booth closet inside the front door with props (!), a make-your-own-trail-mix counter along with coffee/tea/cocoa access 24/7...even just the seating areas inside the front door made me smile. Breakfast was quite the spread & the owner/manager (?) was there with a couple of staff and even took our "order" for what kind of eggs we wanted. They were all so friendly and casual I felt like I was staying at a friend's house. One little thing I never thought I cared about: their towels were SO soft and smelled SO good. I have never experienced anything like it and now I know there is such a thing as an amazing towel experience. Check in was a breeze: there is a parking lot behind the house (1 car per room) & we basically just showed up with a door code & details texted/emailed to us and went straight to our room which was open with keys in the door waiting for us (the exterior access points to the house are all locked/secure so no worries about security). Stay here if you get the chance, it is wonderful.

Overall, our visit went very well and relaxing weekend. The Bath house Soak and wrap was really amazing. the day I went the Temp of the Water from the spring was 123 degrees, my tub was 108 when I got in. You can add hotter or cooler water; to find you own comfort level. After 25 minutes you get out and they wrap you in a sheet and blanket with a wonderful cold wet towel around your head. Lifesaver there. Tim was great and made me feel very welcome. Okay here are my concerns and I hope they find a way to correct some 1. our room had a 3/4 inch gap under the door. So our pups werl overwhelmed by the the shadows and noise. 2. Communication of how things work a is not a strong suite. Like Oh I see you have appointments for the bath house. you will need to check in and pay here before you go. Or maybe you would like to pay for that service now while I'm charging you room. No Room charges are allowed. 3. Good and bad here. Good Portland Coffee Roasters for your in-room coffee. Bad. the coffee maker has to be moved into the bathroom to brew. There was no plug accessible from the table area. Oh and Isadoras restaurant at the golf course has awesome food Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We had a great weekend, and we will be back.

The pool is fine but can't compete with mineral baths in my opinion. It's definitely rustic but clean and charming. The bathhouse attendants are typically wonderful and truly guide me to a great, relaxing experience. I've enjoyed Carson for decades--it's grown but it's still charming, still rustic.

    Tenzen Springs & Cabins

I booked our stay at Tenzen Springs after throughly reading as many reviews as possible. I always…read morelike to know what I can expect and prepare myself for the cons. Prior to booking I knew there were 3 "issues". The first one being the nearby train tracks. Second, the sulfur smell from the tub. Last being the comfortability of the beds. My review is based on cabin 4, which is the ADA cabin and is a slightly larger layout. Upon arrival, the instructions were extremely simple. The cabin was immaculate and we were both pleasantly surprised by all of the amenities and smart design choices that made a seemingly small space feel larger. We had opted to eat most meals at the cabin and packed a cooler with our refrigerated items. The kitchen was adequately stocked for 2 people. Absolutely no issues there. Tenzen Springs provides assorted Starbucks coffee K-cups, teas and sweeteners. The Keurig coffee maker is simple to use. They even provided a small container of milk, which I hadn't thought to bring and was extremely thankful for it. The instructional videos that Tenzen Springs provides made it very simple to figure out how to work the air conditioner, steam shower, tub, stovetop, etc. Okay, first con is the noise from the train. I was prepared for it and you should be, too. I knew that it would be barreling past us in the middle of the night and I am an extremely light sleeper. The first night, I used white noise on my iPad. That did not drown it out enough so on our second night I used the ear plugs. That did a better job but I still heard the train. It seems like it is every 3 hours or so. Did I let it ruin my time? Nope. The second con is the sulfur smell. After reading one review, I was seriously prepared for the worst. So I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it's really not that bad and you only smell it when you're in the tub area. The third con is the bed. Being a mattress snob, I can see why folks complain. The mattress is not the best, but it is far from the worst. And we did not book the cabin based on how comfortable the bed is. The bedding, however, is perfect and quite cozy. We slept fine both nights and woke up with the intent of soaking in the tub as soon as possible. I must say, the pros outweigh the cons at Tenzen Springs. We soaked our cares away and felt like we were completely secluded. We walked the grounds at sunset and saw a breathtaking beauty that we don't get day to day. It was awe inspiring and made us extremely thankful for the experience, even if it was just for the weekend. Tenzen Springs has put obvious thought into the perfect placement of the cabins to make you feel secluded as well as mowing walking paths out to benches overlooking the gorge and hammocks placed perfectly in the shade. We used our time to reflect and reset and came out of it completely recharged. We cannot wait to go back. Thank you Tenzen Springs for an unforgettable weekend.

This is where you need to stay! What can I say? Came here for two nights. Did a few things in the surrounding area but my mind was on the cabin. This is truly a tranquil space. Keep in mind, it is a shared space with other cabins, but nonetheless, it's a beautiful tranquil spot. Nestled in the hilltop, you'll wake up to deer and wild turkeys most likely, as we did. Just a relaxing and calm environment. We stayed at Cabin #5. To me, this was the best cabin with views. You can see water through the trees a bit, as well as the forest trees beyond. With a private geothermal soaking tub, you're sure to just melt all your cares away. Plus, the outdoor shower will help you rinse off before getting in. This was a nice touch to my stay. Then, the tiled shower acts as a steam-room with a touch of a button. How unique!! They provide new packaged slippers for you to use in cabin, as well as flip flops to be used if you choose around the cabin deck. The bed was amazing. Each night I slept like a baby. They have two reading lights, so it was nice to read a few pages before bed. Also, there's two electric outlets on each side of the bed in case you need to charge phone or anything within arm's reach. Well ventilated by fan, or you have option to use remote controlled A/C fan. On the premises you'll find many instagrammable photo opportunities. Also, you'll find a few walking paths that lead to some benches under a beautiful tree to relax, or you can relax with views of the Gorge in another spot. Also, there's two hammocks in a shady area if you want to use to take a nap. Also, a unique touch. You'll have your own parking space and I even saw electrical outlets in case you have electric vehicle. All in all, this has been my favorite AirBnB and I've stayed at several. I did not want to leave. Even on the day we had a packed itinerary to leave and do activities, I made sure to be back early to enjoy this space. I am so glad I did. Just a beautiful place. If you're driving to this place, Google will drop you off half way there, but keep driving a bit and you'll see the Tenzen signage. Use your access code provided and you're in!

Lots of foliage, birds, etc it was our 29th anniversary, the owners where willing to direct/assist with making sure the delivery driver found our sight. (we try to isolate we have a dog who barks too much). *i don't like having to pay for showers, the hassle of having to have quarters, i feel like at a certain price point it should be included. * i would prefer to have a private changing area, for privacy and to keep an eye on my stuff. ( i know nobody wants my dirty socks and boxers) the shower timers are accurate or slightly generous, water was hot, bathroom was not drafty, and everything was clean. Hood, Mt. Adams, and the idyllic Hood River. Normally a DIY traveler, I can say with complete confidence that the decision to book with MountNbarreL is worth it, whether you are a resident or visitor escaping into the sun-soaked beauty of Hood River wine country. My husband and I took the Original Oak Grove (OG) Tour. Ali, the owner, greeted us with mango kombucha and bottled water and set us up with comfortable, well-tuned cruisers. The bikes are outfitted with deep handlebar baskets to hold any vintage gems you find in the historical Oak Grove Store and clever wine bottle baskets on the back. The route is carefully chosen to be accessible for all levels of cyclists, and if you decide you must have a case of that amazing Viento Riesling, fear not - MountNbarreL's shuttle can pick up purchases on the way so you don't have to take everything with you. The details took this day to the next level. Ali and Sydney bookend the group while cycling so you can enjoy the scenery and views safely. We were pampered with treats throughout, like a charcuterie plate to go with our Italian-style wine tasting at Marchesi and lunch and snacks from Farm Stand in the Gorge (a local cafe and artisanal grocer) while picking blueberries and enjoying a private tour of Phelp's Creek vineyards. What struck me most is that Ali really partners with local wineries and businesses and is an integral part of the Hood River community. This really shows in her deep knowledge of the local wineries, and the warm reception and hand-selected tastings at each stop. I can't imagine a better way to experience Hood River!
