They charged a fuel charge and did not include that fee in their WRITTEN quote for services. Now we are having to fight to get that reimbursed. Our neighbor had service done by them on the sane day we did and did not have a fuel charge. This company is TERRIBLE to deal with. read more

Wind River did my septic pump out. Did a good job except accidentally breaking my irrigation pipe. I spent $75 in materials to repair it. Wind River reimbursed me for the $75. A quality company for sure. Their manager was very helpful and responsive to my request for reimbursement. read more

I had a good experience with Heritage Pumping in 2021 and used them again in 2025, they are now Wind River Environmental. I booked the appointment online, and it gave me a price quote of 319 for 1000 gallons, with additional fees for digging or tank location as needed. I dug out my own tank, so the pumping final cost was exactly the same as the price quote. In 2021, it was about $250, but unfortunately inflation is what it is. (According to the state DEP, the average cost in Mass to pump a 1000 gallon tank is $325-500). They arrived within the appointment window and I got a text ahead of time when they were on their way. I asked the technician (Elder) about installing a riser so I could avoid digging in the future, and he gave me a quote on the spot, which was very reasonable, and had a discount if a got a filter installed at the same time (I have a baffle, since it's an older system). They sent a truck out he next business day to install the riser and the filter, and Niamh Ann did a great job. read more

I called Heritage Pumping service (I was happy with Heritage in 2021).The woman I spoke with quoted me either $379 or $389. I balked @ the big increase in price. She said "let me see what I can do" & put my on hold. She returned & said was taking $50 off (I later noticed invoice price was $425 then they deducted $50. A little creative math there, I think! A Wind River truck arrived on time (Heritage merged with Wind River). The guy was pleasant enough. I moved my car (which I should have done before hand) When the man got back in the truck it would not start (had to be towed away). No one call to reschedule. I got an email & a text @ 6:30 PM on 6/29 informing me that I would receive the service on 6/30 in the AM. No one arrived. I called there after 3:00 today to cancel. They clearly don't want my business. I was happy with Heritage but very unhappy with Wind River. Too bad they merged! read more

They texted at 6:22am, stating that that they were 11 minutes away. After multiple calls, most of which with zero follow-up, we were told that the driver "couldn't find our house". Our mailbox is clearly labeled. Our driveway (which is not next to our mailbox) is also clearly labeled. Also, we have very clear instructions to our driveway tacked to the mailbox. After over 4 hours later, and 4 calls (most of which were not followed up with at all) someone showed up. The guy that showed up was cool. He actually called before arriving, which calls into question why they never called before if they couldn't find out house. He also said that we had an extra fee on our ticket for an "emergency call" (which is due to our calling to inquire where they were - only after they had already texted to confirm when they expected to arrive). They charged twice what they quoted, using an additive that we had already said that we didn't want or approve during scheduling. And then they also used a credit card that was used for our cleaning last year, but had not been mentioned at all during scheduling. So 1- they showed up 4 hours late 2- charged us for calling why they were late, after saying they were 11 minutes away 3- charged us for additives that we said we did not want 4- charged a credit card that they claimed they would not keep on file last year. But they did; and they used it to overcharge us. ...so that was on Friday. Today is Tuesday. At 8:30 this morning, we got a call from a driver saying he's outside, and here to finish the job. As it turns out, the service tech that was here on Friday left without finishing, and didn't say a word. He just left. The company didn't bother to tell us that the job wasn't finished either. The tech that came today told us that the previous guy had a family emergency, and that is why he didn't finish. I totally understand that things like that happen. But the company really had awful customer service right from the start. And they already OVERCHARGED a credit card they kept in file (without our permission)... AND THE JOB WASN'T EVEN FINISHED. We have used wind river for decades. Unfortunately, it seems that something had changed with them. I had called explaining the issue I was having and they came out and pumped my tank (1000 gallons for $300) More than I've paid in the past, but .. Inflation? Then when the same exact issue happened 4 days later they said it would be another $300+ (for the first hour and 200 for subsequent hours)to get an "assessment". They refused to work with me on the price even though we have been customers as long as we have been and they didn't address the problem properly in the first place. Over charges had 25 hundred gallons pumped they charge me for 3 thousand gallons they claim that what they pumped. Simple math can't get 3 gallons from 25 hundred don't use them ever. Couldn't give a zero stars so had to give them 1 but I take it back. Never ever use this company read more

We used this company once in the past and since it was time to do it again, we called them. A tech got back to us within the 24 hours and we scheduled the appt. On that day we learned that the filter needed to be replaced and the tech told us he would put in the order and someone would call us within 24 hours to schedule but it and should be out by the end of the week. well no call and so I called and was told that they had the request and but didn't put in the order so i was assured it would be put right in and a call within 24 hours. Yup, no call. I called for the second time and was told again that the order wasn't put in but again that it would be done. You guest it, no call. My third call and only to be told yet again it wasn't scheduled. And the earliest they could have someone one out was over a week away. And they charged me for a part they have not delivered yet. Said it had to be prepaid. Was never told that. So we'll be searching for another company to service our septic. Stay away from this company. And I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. read more
