This morning as my partner and I were leaving for work, he discovered that someone had smashed in the front passenger side window of our Subaru during the night. We live on Capitol Hill. Desperate because he was late at this point, I had to drive him up to Shoreline where he works and then try to get the glass fixed. I called around to a number of different places, all of which were either closed that early in the morning (around 8 am) or couldn't see me for a couple of days. My Mini Cooper had a small crack that branched out on the windshield. Called Bob, hoping that it was still repairable. He went to where my car was located, and told me that the he could still repair the crack, but no guarantee since it had branched. He carefully explained my options and the cost of replacing the windshield. I finally asked him to order the glass straight from the winshield manufacturer instead from Mini, since both have the same quality, but the one straight from manufacturer is way cheaper. On the day of replacement, he arrived earlier than promised and he had to wait 30 minutes for me. He built a tent for my car to go under due to the rain, and repaired my windshield within an hour. I have had two windshield chips repaired by Bob. It's amazingly annoying how they can appear without notice and regardless of your speed on I-5; these two occurrences happened within a week and a half of each other. I wasn't going to even attempt trying to do this myself, as there was a chance of making it worse (especially on a new car). Not only was were the repairs fast and relatively inexpensive, but Bob makes it so that it can fit your schedule. Each time, he called me to schedule a half-hour time frame that would work for the both of us. The repairs themselves took less than 10 minutes each! Now I'm not hoping that I'll get another chip or crack soon, but I know I can count on Bob to show up within a day or two to help minimize the damage. Bob was on time, courteous, and did exactly as I asked which was to be very clean/careful about my cars. He re-sealed the rear sliding window of my Ford Lariat F-150 and he re-sealed front and back windows on my pride and joy BMW M5...along with installing brand new front windshield (complete with BMW rain sensor). Afterwards I went over the jobs with fine tooth comb and Bob cleaned everything and made it look OE. I really was happy with his work and service. I have had front windshields done on other cars before and if you don't find the right guy...you end up with sub-par resultant product. With Bob...it's like it never happened. I used Bob years ago and needed a windshield replaced again. I still shopped around (cuz that's what I do) and found Wind-Tech still to be the best price. Since my insurance doesn't cover this it's all coming out of my pocket. I also called the "name brand" company, Safelite for a price and they were about $125 MORE! Seriously?!! I know they have to pay for all that TV advertising, but good golly! As before, Bob was great and very professional. I work a lot of hours so it's hard for me to find time to drive someplace to get my windshield replaced. He came to my work and it was done in no time. Super Easy! Wish I could get everything else in my life done that easy. I put off having my windshield replaced for too long thinking it would be expensive and inconvenient. I am glad that I did after getting a second big crack just last week. I just had Bob replace the rear windshield on my 2006 Subaru Forester. We had such a great experience dealing with Bob. We were travelling from out of town and needed to fix a broken rear windshield ASAP as to not delay our travels. We called Bob 10 mins to "closing time" on a Saturday knowing everything would be closed Sunday and he found us a windshield within hours and told us he'd get it fixed first thing Monday morning. I got my car broken into two days ago, I have searched Yelp and I found Wind-tech auto glass!My overall experience was awesome! I called in around 10:30am and I talked to Bob, he asked me basic questions, set up an appt to meet with him at our house same day! I've also noticed that the passenger side of my car was pryed open too and the window would make this weird sound since part of the door was bent. Bob happily checked this one for me and he kind of fix it for me even though he didn't have to since it's more of a bodywork. It took half hour and once he was done he just called me. Got a rock chip, and it began spreading fast! Called insurance to get claim started, see my options. Was going to go with a different company, but decided to check Yelp. Saw the awesome reviews, coupled with an actual backing of the work being reviewed, and decided to go with Bob. Called set up a Friday apt while at work. Bob called 20min out, came and even helped me finalize my insurance approval (insurance was being difficult). Bob had whole job done in around 30 minutes and it looks flawless! This is my first Yelp review, I signed up just to tell everyone how amazing this company is. My wife got a small crack on her windshield this morning at 8am. Bob came to my house and replaced the windshields for my car and my wife's. I couldn't be happier with the experience. He's professional, personable and speedy--took only 35 minutes for each one. I also had a side mirror that needed replacing and he said he could certainly do that. But he showed me how easy that particular installation would be and even called a junkyard in Lynnwood, near where I live, to see if it had any side mirrors. I called Bob to fix my drivers side window and mirror that were smashed in an attempted theft. He accommodated my work schedule by working with me over the phone to get the job done. He didn't require that I be present while the job was done, so I came home to find a fixed mirror and window. The job was completed well, and it was convenient to work with him. The actual price for the mirror, however, did end up being $10 more than he gave as an estimate. Luckily in my case the insurance paid for it, but Bob informed me of this right about as he was doing the job, which was a bit later than I might have preferred. read more
