My windshield was cracked, and I paid $275 to have it replaced. During the process, they discovered rust underneath the windshield and offered to repair the rust free of charge. They also offered to replace the rubber trim around the windshield. While I appreciate them offering additional work at no cost, that does not excuse poor workmanship on the service I originally paid for. I did not ask for those additional services for free--they offered to do them. In my opinion, fixing something extra for free does not give a business the right to do a half-done job on the actual repair the customer came in for. When I looked at the finished work, I noticed that the corners and rubber trim were not properly lined up. I brought this to their attention calmly and respectfully. I was not yelling or being disrespectful--I was simply expressing my concerns about the quality of the work on my vehicle. Instead of listening to my concerns and addressing the issue, I repeatedly heard that everything was "fine" and was reminded about what they had done for me for free. That was frustrating because my concern was not about the additional work they offered. My concern was about the quality of the work I paid for. What made the situation even more disappointing was being told to "calm down" when I was already calm and speaking in a respectful and articulate manner. As a Black woman, being told to calm down when I was simply expressing a legitimate concern did not sit well with me. I came in expecting professional work and professional customer service. Instead, I felt dismissed and as though I was being expected to accept work that I personally believe was not completed properly. I am sharing my experience so that other customers can make an informed decision. Tried to cover up having the wrong windshield with excessive amounts of adhesive. In the photo taken after removing the wrong windshield, you can see areas of adhesive did not touch the glass Jose installed. To hide the mess and get paid, he covered all the edges of the windshield with blue tape. Next day, I removed the blue tape and drove the truck...windshield had a whistling noise and water leaked into the cab when poured from a cup onto the outside edges. Called and explained the issue and he did offer to fix only after arguing with me for 10 minutes, but I decided I did not trust his work. I offered to pay the wholesale cost of the windshield and asked that he refund me labor cost, which he refused. Guy I had install the correct windshield said that Jose's install was horrible and his price was for the more expensive 3rd gen window, despite being the incorrect part number. Photos of windshields in the rack show the obvious difference between 2nd and 3rd gen windshields, note the rubber tabs on sides of the new 3rd gen windshield and the excessive adhesive after removal on the 2nd gen windshield Jose installed. Do not trust your safety to JC Autoglass.
