I found City Auto Glass with great reviews and called right away. I spoke with Mike and gave me a quote to repair the chip. Trust me, it's cheaper than the other shops. He came over to meet me in our complex's parking lot and fixed it right away. I knew that the crack was wider and it's not going to hold. He did tell me to give him a call and he'll give me a credit upon replacement of my windshield when that time comes. In 3 days, the crack was getting longer. You know, when you hit a pot hole and every bump in the road is not good on your chipped windshield? That was stressful, really! I called Mike and he is aware of the rainy days coming up and we were both waiting for the dryer days in March. Then, our schedule won't meet, but he was calling me and checking up on me making sure my windshield replacement order was still in his radar. We finally made an appointment were both our schedules allowed us to meet up. He came over again to our unit's parking lot. There he made my brand new car new again. My windshield was cracked, and I paid $275 to have it replaced. During the process, they discovered rust underneath the windshield and offered to repair the rust free of charge. They also offered to replace the rubber trim around the windshield. While I appreciate them offering additional work at no cost, that does not excuse poor workmanship on the service I originally paid for. I did not ask for those additional services for free--they offered to do them. In my opinion, fixing something extra for free does not give a business the right to do a half-done job on the actual repair the customer came in for. When I looked at the finished work, I noticed that the corners and rubber trim were not properly lined up. I brought this to their attention calmly and respectfully. I was not yelling or being disrespectful--I was simply expressing my concerns about the quality of the work on my vehicle. Instead of listening to my concerns and addressing the issue, I repeatedly heard that everything was "fine" and was reminded about what they had done for me for free. That was frustrating because my concern was not about the additional work they offered. My concern was about the quality of the work I paid for. What made the situation even more disappointing was being told to "calm down" when I was already calm and speaking in a respectful and articulate manner. As a Black woman, being told to calm down when I was simply expressing a legitimate concern did not sit well with me. I came in expecting professional work and professional customer service. Instead, I felt dismissed and as though I was being expected to accept work that I personally believe was not completed properly. I am sharing my experience so that other customers can make an informed decision. If you choose to come here, I strongly recommend thoroughly inspecting the work before leaving and speaking up if something does not look right. i literally still have gaps in my windshield to it's going to have water damage.
