Avoid at all costs, would give 0 stars if possible. Nice guy, but doesn't know what he is doing. Installed a windshield for second generation Tacoma in my third generation Tacoma. Tried to cover up having the wrong windshield with excessive amounts of adhesive. In the photo taken after removing the wrong windshield, you can see areas of adhesive did not touch the glass Jose installed. To hide the mess and get paid, he covered all the edges of the windshield with blue tape. Next day, I removed the blue tape and drove the truck...windshield had a whistling noise and water leaked into the cab when poured from a cup onto the outside edges. Called and explained the issue and he did offer to fix only after arguing with me for 10 minutes, but I decided I did not trust his work. I offered to pay the wholesale cost of the windshield and asked that he refund me labor cost, which he refused. Guy I had install the correct windshield said that Jose's install was horrible and his price was for the more expensive 3rd gen window, despite being the incorrect part number. Photos of windshields in the rack show the obvious difference between 2nd and 3rd gen windshields, note the rubber tabs on sides of the new 3rd gen windshield and the excessive adhesive after removal on the 2nd gen windshield Jose installed. Someone broke my side window, called when they opened monday morning, Jose came to my parking lot 4 hours later, thoroughly vacuumed the glass up, and fixed it at less than half the average cost of my dealership in about an hour. Jose is an honest, knowledgable, and kind person. This was the first time I've had to get my auto glass replaced, so interacting with someone who was kind and knowledgable put my mind at ease during this mildly stressful situation. Out of all the options in SD, the reviews say JC's Jose is a great guy to interact with, he's fast, he's mobile, and he offers affordable pricing. I heard the hit and I cringed. A day later I got into my TL to go to the salon and spend the day shopping and I saw it. The HUGE crack running across the passenger side of my windshield - headed toward me! Being me, I yelped, found Jose at the top of my list, called him and made an appointment for 5 hours later. I didn't even call around to see if I could find a cheaper solution because my fellow yelpers said he had the best pricing. So Jose and Alvaro came over to my house, stripped out the old windshield, popped in the new, threw on extra tape because it was supposed to rain and left my house all within thirty minutes. I am pretty pleased with the results! I hope I never HAVE to see them again, but if I get struck again, i'll definitely give them another call! read more

This might be the worst dealings I've had with a business in some time, water was leaking from my front window so i decided to give this guy a call because his shop was literally right in front of me. This turned out to be a huge mistake, not only did he lie to me saying that his weather strip was better than BMWs he did a sloppy putting on sealant on the outside of the glass. when i called him the next day he realized i had a issue with his work and hung up on me and turned off his cell phone for hours, when i finally reached him again he did the same thing. what kind of customer service is that? whats the point of having a warranty if you don't honor it? if you truly care about your car don't go to this guy, spend a few bucks more and get a real professional to do the work. cheap work is just that cheap. read more

I'm really bummed about writing this update, but I have to be honest with all you Yelpers. I got my window fixed back in 2009 and was so happy about the customer service, the price, and the fixed window. My window has been perfectly fine for the past couple years... until this morning. While I was driving, the window popped out and almost scared me to death! Pressing the button didn't do anything but actually made it worse. I brought my car in to an auto shop near home, and they said that whoever fixed my window did not do it properly (I know they are being honest with me because I'm related to the owner). All JC did was glue it back in, which is supposed to be a temporary fix. Temporary, indeed. I'm so disappointed. As I was about to do my homework after talking to my women, she immediately calls me back in panic. Jen: "help! I got to an accident!" Me: "WTF?!? Are you okay? I had my windshield repaired two times with JC. The first time they were awesome and I decided to have them repair my windshield again the second time. The second time... the experience was eh. When I was on the phone with them, the guy went on and on about giving me a good deal (Yeah it was $240 which was about $100 cheaper than other guys that I called.) I decided to have them come out and change the windshield. After that was all said and done and I was on my way home, I noticed a line of distortion on my windshield. It was like looking through bi-focals. It was on the passenger side but it still annoyed me. I called JC asking them about this and why they didn't mention to me that they were putting in a distorted glass (if it was more money for a non-distorted glass, I would've gladly paid for it). The once very helpful guy turned rude and kept on saying that it wasn't a problem and because I wanted a deal that glass is what I got. Let me mention that I never asked for a deal, he was the one who gave me the deal. He said that he would call me back on Wednesday morning to set up a time to replace the window. Wednesday came and he never called. When I called again, a woman picked up and after I told her my dilemma she said that she would call me back again. That call never came as well. It's been about 4 months since I've had my windshield repaired and when I call they never call back, and the distortion line is getting longer on my windshield (yeahup I measured it). I do have to say that the guy who came to fix my windshield was really nice though. I was referred to JC auto glass by another repair shop that didn't fix windows. My car got broken into, and I had my passenger side window replaced for $140. The service was great! I called to make an appointment but Jose said he can come to where I live and fix it for me. He right on time, and he was so nice and friendly! It took as a few minutes to find each other because I live in an apartment complex but he was really nice and patient. I hung out in my apartment, he called me when he was done, and it only took about 45 minutes. He vacuumed the whole floor of the car, not just the broken glass in the front seat. He worked super fast, was really friendly, did a great job, and the price was very reasonable. I was so happy that I tipped him $5. A few months ago while getting my car washed I noticed water was coming through my rooftop? I didn't know what the cause was until now after some tests and professional review. The windshield was not put on with a tight seal so there is a gap. I took my car to Penske and they said that the installers did not do a good job installing the windshield. Right off the bat they can tell that the windshield was installed too high. The VIN# is unreadable, if I was pulled over by a cop I would have gotten a ticket. I was told that if JC is a reputable company they should repair and i should still be under warranty. It is illegal for them to install it that way so they should have known this and prevented this poor fitted windshield. I will contact them soon and update you all with the service received. Update: Was able to bring my car back in so they can reseal my window. He couldn't do anything about the misplacement of the glass though so that was a disappointment b/c my VIN is still not visible since they placed the glass poorly. The seal did help with not letting water leak in though. Now I just have to watch out not to get in trouble with the law bc they will probably fine me for my not fully displayed VIN number. Make sure to check the display of your VIN# if you ever get your windshield replaced. My husband always said, you get what you paid for :( read more

I have a 1999 Corolla and for $140 i got a brand new windshield. I was searching on Yelp to find a business who was Dependable, Cheap, Fast, Mobile and over all Respectable. I called a few places besides JC Auto but they either gave me a price that was $5 more or $100 more... which is outrageous! Jose was really nice and I decided to go to him because he was very sincere over the phone and I just felt like he was dependable. When I told some of the people that I work with that I was getting the large crack in my window shield fixed they immediately jumped on the bandwagon. When I called Jose back to tell him there were three other cars to took he took $10 off each amount. AWESOME. He came out with one of his employees and within 2 hours he was gone. It was a Saturday morning when I called and they said they were pretty busy but could come to my house at 2pm. I explained I had a wedding to drive to at 3pm and they assured me it wouldn't take anymore than 45 minutes. So I agreed. These guys are great. I called at 10:30 on a Monday and they came to my house -- free of charge -- within the hour....for free. About a year ago, someone broke into my car and shattered my window. I had a friend install a new window for me and then the window fell into my car door because it wasn't installed correctly. Juan immediately understood the problem after I told him what happened and he sent Alvaro to fix it for me. Both were professional and also friendly. It cost $45 and was done within an hour. These guys were amazing. I called a few places and got quotes and these were the cheapest I found. $170 total for my regular sedan type car to replace the whole front windshield, not bad at all. I've paid more for other vehicles so was happy with that. Best part was their quick work. They got here a little after 4pm and were done by 4:45pm. I appreciate that they don't draw out the process. Jose even put DW40 on my door hinges because one of them squeeks a little when you open it so he gave all four doors the treatment! He also fixed one of my windshield wipers that was set a little too low for whatever reason. Honestly, I couldn't be happier with the quick and quality work these guys did. I took off the wiper and left the metal bar up, before I walked into the shop I remembered that I needed a new headlight too. A rock on the freeway caused a huge crack, which couldn't be repaired, and I needed to replace my 11 year old windshield. I found JC on Yelp, called him around 9:30am and he was at our house at 2:30 pm. He replaced my Tundra windshield for $45 less than Safelite, and $60 less than Auto Glass of San Diego quoted, plus he came to my home. He was polite, funny and he did a great job! Jose was a very nice guy and gave me a great price on my tacoma window replacement. The only problem is they didn't actually know what they were doing and had no idea the sensors had to be recalibrated with any window replacement. On top of that they broke a window heater that needed to be replaced by the dealership. When I told them the additional cost they offered to come and replace what they broke because they knew what it was. Not sure why they didn't say that upon the first install and offer then. When i asked them to cover the cost of the dealership fixing the heater they said no they would replace or not pay another dime. I told them it was already being fixed and I expected them to cover it and received a comical string of cussing in spanish and they hung up. All in all it ended up costing me about a grand to fix their work. You get what you pay for and I would not recomend them. It's not worth the savings. read more

These guys just left my office, and I was very pleased with my experience with them, from start to finish! Back in August, during that crazy heat wave we were having, I had a rock hit my windshield. My stomach did a flip-flop when I saw the crater it left in the upper right hand side of my windshield. Cracked windshields, bald tires, etc. are, unfortunately, a necessary evil of car ownership.
