Not ready for prime time. Windowrama has the worst customer service. They act as if they are being helpful but there is no follow up and plenty of incompetence. We tried to work with Shawn Kelly of Farmington, NY and his in house staff but received many promises and no follow through. I would avoid working with Windowrama. They are time wasters and do not live up to the expectations they broadcast in their commercials. Horrible and hostile staff. Dropped by on a Tuesday morning when the store was empty to check out different Andersen window and patio door options. The person working there knew very little about the products (e.g. didn't even know there is a contemporary style option for various Andersen doors). He was also very rude. When I asked basic questions about how large particular windows in the showroom were, "Large enough" was the answer. That was followed shortly by "This is not a public showroom. This is for WindowRama customers only." Do people place orders before they go to the showroom? Seems pretty backwards. We were looking for 40+ windows and a patio slider. We even called ahead the day before to confirm with another employee and they had asked us to stop by. read more

When we pulled into the very small parking lot on Northern Boulevard, we almost kept going - it was a tiny storefront - not the huge showroom we expected. We are SO grateful we stopped! While the showroom is small, the person was so helpful - friendly, not pushy. We left with so much information - and after mulling it over, we called to have a salesperson come over, look at what we needed done and give us a quote The salesperson, Chris, came when he said he would, looked the job over, asked what we wanted, and gave us a quote. We had waited so long to have the windows replaced (years!) that we decided to 'go for it''. Chris said we'd have a Project Manager that would stop by and check on the job (which would take 2 days) - it sounded too good to be true. The installer, Chris (different Chris!) came by, to take the final measurements and our windows were ordered. We were told it would take 4 - 6 weeks. Within that time frame, we were called and given the install date. On the date given, a truck pulled up, dropped off everything needed to do the job - and about an hour later, Chris and his assistant got to work. Later that day, our Project Manager showed up, just to make sure everything was progressing nicely - yes, we really did have a Project Manager! The next day while Chris and his assistant finished the job, Chris the salesperson showed up just to see how things were going - I don't ever recall seeing a salesperson after a sale was made! Towards the end of the second day, our Project Manager came by and checked out the whole job! He was satisfied - and we were thrilled. Replacing windows is not cheap, and it's something easily put off, but I'm writing this in my warmer, quieter living room because we finally made a choice - and we are so glad that we chose WindowRama! read more

Maybe a good option for someone who knows a lot about windows and is confident in their order but for a person like me, who knows little about windows working with windowrama was an expensive mistake. Their sales team are simply order takers. They will enter the order accurately and take your payment promptly -- but at no point will they try to help you select the right window for your needs which is such a miss - and I imagine a big differentiator in this space. The result for me was an uniformed and incomplete order. Uniformed because it turns out there are much better window solutions for our renovation. Windowrama even sells those solutions and could have easily suggested some alternatives upon learning about the project. But at no point in the sale did that happen. Incomplete because after waiting 5 weeks for the windows to arrive the GC informed me that the parts required for joining the windows were not included. The windowrama sales rep knew we were installing these side by side and never mentioned the need to order a specific join from the window manufacturer. Ordering that part = another 5 weeks! TLDR; if you need windows and don't know everything about them then keep scrolling and find another window reseller - one who will help you navigate the options and pick the right solution (with all required hardware needed for installation). read more

The owner is an admitted cheap crook who refused to take even a reasonable amount of responsibility for an 11 thousand dollar screw up on their part. I ordered a custom bifolding window for the sunroom at my house and had an hour long discussion with Pete (their desk guy) about how the window functions and what direction it should open. Two thirds of the way into a lengthy building and installation process, it became clear the widow was constructed the wrong direction. This was their mistake 100%. Unfortunate, but a true mistake always is. They refused to replace the window as they should have, citing how expensive it was- I know I paid for it with my hard earned money. And then after a number of uncomfortable conversations, offered only to be responsible 20% of the repatriations. Citing it was my fault for not spotting the error. An error I had no knowledge of. Pete, admitted in front of a few witnesses that this really wasn't my fault and hoped his boss Bob Murray would just do the right thing and correct this. Well, they didn't and when I confronted Pete about it, he told me directly that Bob is a comfortably rich guy who could care less about doing the right thing because my business doesn't really matter to him. I was told directly that it wasn't about the money, he just didn't want to be liable and admit to the mistake. They didn't care at all that I'm a working class person who took it in the shin on this and unless I wanted to drag them to small claims court, two grand is all I would get. Needless to say i don't have the time and energy to do that, so I just wanted to let the general public know what kind of businessperson they're dealing with should they run afoul with a mistake- They will blame you and tell you good luck wasting your time and energy trying to get your money back without an ugly legal fight. And to illustrate the pathetic behavior through and through, Bob Murray in a truly little league move of cowardice, made his small time employee do the dirty work in having those conversations with me. And yes, I did ask to speak to him directly, asked them to call me and was given only the option to email him. There is no guarantee of their product. Don't trust them. Give your business to someone who respects their word and your time and money. read more

It's 2 months and still waiting for 3 standard size e rated windows. The $4950 is way to high. They said 12 to 16 weeks. What kind of inventory does Windowrama have if they don't have standard size windows. They tried the bait and switch to Peller windows they have in stock fo $6900. No one calls you back. I should have gone with the local window installer for 3 windows installed for$1600 and can have them made in about a week and a half. I would never recommend Windowrama ,Flushing to anyone. read more

One of the basic tenets of customer service is communication. What we have here is a failure to communicate. Even after leaving numerous voice mails for the sales person who provided me with a quote on a new door and making sure that he had my correct email and number, I got zero response. I left a message with the receptionist who assured me she would have him call me-zero response. I guess a $1K sale is not big enough to worry about. Good for you. Absolutely horrible service! ordered my screen window, special order, on 6/1/2019, provided them with measurements, and to this day I still don't have the screen, every time I go and try to talk to them I get a run around and a screen that has completely different dimensions. Asked for a refund and of course can't get one since its a special order but at the same time I don't have the screen either. Customer service sucks . They do pick up the phones. Don't reply e mail or return phones call. I had to drive 30 min. To ask my questions. I've place a order for a hardwares with the old parts in my hand and they go it wrong 3 times. Very frustrating. The store manger Rachal wang just told me to go to home depot instead wtf. read more

On an out of character whim I stopped in to Windowrama barely considering moving forward with replacing our very dated replacement windows. After meeting several times with Bruce Warren, we moved forward with confidence and a new improved window replacement product than what we had previously invested in. As an added bonus, this brand came complete with a lifetime warranty. Bruce was patient, informative, and very intuitive regarding our needs as it related to product, expenses involved and options. And, my anxiety and reluctance to a "home improvement project" didn't make Bruce's job any easier and yet he is always so calming and kind. Bruce was/is incredible in his sales technique and presentation making our decision somewhat of a no brainer. The recommendations Bruce made for us is/was perfect both in quality and affordability. In the most confidence boosting way, Bruce pleasantly assured us about the job in its entirety. Clearly, he earned our trust-another out of character reaction from me. After committing to the project, we were then contacted by Kevin Przyborowski for in home measuring, MORE VIP treatment, additional recommendations regarding design and final pricing. Once again Windowrama's representatives, in their specific role, felt like they were hand picked for us. Kevin was friendly, easy going, easily reachable for addressing concerns/changes and reassuring us all the way without us feeling any sales pressure. Kevin sized us up too and assured us, at my request, a dream team of installers - and boy did he come through. This brought us to Rick Alvarez and Sons and his crew of installers. We felt like we hit the trifecta, starting with Bruce, moving on to Kevin and then Rick and his installers who were pleasant, skilled, efficient and so respectful to us and our home. Rick expected perfection from his men and we were the benefactors of his high standards. Truly a first for us and we have been in our home since 1980. Our window purchase from Windowrama and their associates gets 10 Stars out of a 5 Star limit-we are sincerely appreciative of all the personal sensitivity and kindness and professional expertise. They have earned their stellar reputation and it is our pleasure to recommend them with complete confidence. read more

All the windows in my house come from Windowrama. My father went to pick up 2 windows that were supposed to be ready on Saturday, today (Monday) and he was told that he had already picked them up. The store associate then accused my father of lying, claimed that the man with my father, who was a carpenter he hired to install the windows, came to the store and picked the windows up. My father asked for the owners phone number and the store associate refused. He claimed he could only give out his email address. He kept insisting that my father was lying and trying to steal. He mentioned the cameras in the store and raised his voice. My father and the carpenter left the store and 5 minutes later the store associate called and told him he had found the windows in the store. Due to the bad reviews, I want to believe the store associate was just rude, but it seems a little racially motivated to accuse 2 black men with receipts of stealing. Especially when my father paid a deposit. read more

Wow! I'm surprised to read all the negative reviews. I bought a Therma-tru door as well as a bunch of Emtek door hardware from John. It went as smooth as it could. This was the third place I got a quote on the door and hardware from, and John was the most knowledgeable and nicest of all the sales people I encountered. If you know anything about buying a new door on your own, you'll need an excellent sales person because it involves determining a correct jam size, finish, swing, exterior casing, hinge finish, etc, and John really helped me with his knowledge. Yes, phone calls are hardly ever answered, but John was always excellent in email communication so that wasn't a deal breaker for me. I've been at the store a few times now, so I could understand why it is extremely difficult to get a hold of two and only sales people that work there. It's the nonstop contractors coming in and out, nonstop phone calls coming in, and again, there are only two sales people without a receptionist/assistant. I feel for them. I rate 4 out of 5 in hopes that the owner reads this and throws in extra help even on a part-time basis. It will be better for the business as well! read more

My husband and I spent time this weekend researching storm doors. We were planning on going to Home depot as we always have good results there but this time we had questions and felt that we might get more help from a knowledgeable salesperson. We have purchased both windows and doors from Windowrama in the past and were happy with doing business with them except for the very long waits for a delivery date.. My daughter and I went into Windowrama today, measurements in hand, ready to order the two doors we needed. Even though there were three salesmen that all saw us and there were no other customers, we were left standing there for quite a while until I finally asked for help. I was told to "wait a minute". After another five minutes a salesman asked what we needed and I told him what I was looking for at which point he tossed a brochure at me and turned to his computer. He offered me no help or guidance whatsoever. Finally I pointed out to my daughter that we might as well go to Home depot as I was not getting help at Windowrama. As I turned to go the young man yelled out after me, "good, that's where you were going to go anyway, you weren't going to buy anything from us anyway!"....Seriously? Why did you think I came into the store? I had every intention of making a purchase today moron. As I have pointed out, I was a costumer of yours before....you can be sure I won't be in the future. The reality is that this is why these little shops are being put out of business by the likes of Home depot and Lowes. If they will be able to find anyone who would be helpful maybe I would buy anything there. A person who does not see a customer and is upset that someone just interrupted his game is not a salesperson to me. He did not even bother to stand up and look at the door I want to buy, he did not even ask me a a question. Just went on the computer did two different estimates and throw in front of me. When I asked a question and he was not able to explain it to me, he got upset and gave me an attitude. No one should use this company, no wonder there aren't many stars to this company on Yelp. I should have checked this before trying to purchase two doors from there. The service is preposterous. I have an issue with a very expensive door I purchased, but the sales person at the Flushing, NY location (John) told me there's nothing he can do and gave me a manager's name and number (Bill Szmala). After speaking to him once he said he would look into the situation and call me back, for 3 days now he hasn't answered phone calls and hasn't called me back. I have left him several messages. He's even on the phone when I call him since I hear the different ring tone that indicates he's on the phone, but he doesn't answer or call me back. This company isn't worth your time or effort.
