So after moving to the area my wife and I had to get our cars in order and registered in VA. Since there was no way we were going to pass the safety inspection with a crack in her windshield the size of the one she had we had to get it fixed.. Used my good friend Yelp to find this place not to far from us. The appointment process was excellent and everything they told us they would do on their part, they did! We had an appointment window from 1 to 3 on a Friday afternoon, they showed up around 1:45. Right to the complex, two guys hopped out, friendly, courteous.. Took a look at the car and got right to work.. The weather was not the best but they took every precaution to keep their work and the car neat and clean and not sacrifice quality. After about 40 minutes they were all done. When I came back out I was super impressed about how clean the work was done. Even the "never to be removed" stickers (parking passes, oil change stickers, etc) were cleanly taken right off from the damaged windshield and placed neatly back on the new one. Excellent business, excellent service, affordable considering the current market, and couldn't be happier. Lifetime guarantee on the install which to this point even being done in bad weather appears to be solid and as tight as off the showroom floor. read more

Although I didn't want to get a huge crack in my windshield on the way to work one morning- it was otherwise a relatively painless experience with the folks at Windshield City. If you're looking for a great price, I think Windshield CIty is a good place to go. If you're just paying a flat deductible, and you want the install to look stock, you might want to check other places. I recently had Windshield City replace my windshield, and it functions as it is supposed to - blocks wind and precipitation, with no additional wind noise, and no leaks that can be observed. On the downside, the gasket they used at the top of the windshield is a different style and looks odd to me. On the original windshield, the windshield, gasket, and frame line up flush and smooth. On the replacement, the windshield on the passenger side sits slightly above the frame, while the gasket across the whole front sits below the frame and windshield, creating a new channel. The new gasket also seems to be some sort of compression gasket which folds over on itself creating another edge, and overall it's a little warped across the front. It's not the smooth flush look I was expecting. Additionally my VIN number is now 80% obscured, as the opening for that on the windshield doesn't line up correctly. Perhaps the windshield sits too low because of the different gasket, or maybe the manufacturer doesn't position the opening correctly on their product. In the end, the new windshield works functionally, but I'm not particularly happy with the finish. read more

So kind, helpful, and professional. This is a small shop, no real waiting area, just the office, but who cares--they are good at their job, fair priced, and fast. Very pleased. Got my windshield replace and it looks great! They were able to order the windshield very quickly and I was able to get it replaced within a few days. Reason why I gave it a four star instead of a five: I had a dried flower from my wedding in the corner of the dash that I forgot to remove. Instead of gently placing it somewhere safe, I found it on the floor of the passenger side crushed and crumbled. And there were rubber strips from the windshield on the floor of the car and on the middle console. I don't think it wouldve hurt to wipe down the dash after the job was done and cleaned up the rubber trash. read more

Mike and Windshield City were recommended to me by a friend and I have to say they are awesome, they do great work. I had another windscreen replaced by another company a couple of years back and to be honest I was not impressed with their work. When Windshield City was recommended to me I picked up the phone and gave them a call, as I have a Subaru Tribeca my windscreen is not common, Mike had the replacement in the next working day and as my schedule did not work out he said for me to come in the evening and he would be there for me. Perfect. I called and spoke with Mike. He accommodated my schedule. As it was very cold and windy, I offered to take my Toyota 4Runner to their office to have the windshield replaced. They replaced it within an hour or so. The called and offered to drop the car off in my office parking lot. They arrived as promised. The job is nice and clean. I don't know how they did it, but my inspection sticker, EZ-Pass, and other decals are in the exact same place as they were on my old windshield and don't even looked like they've been moved. I had a windshield installed at Safelite and a few years later a water leak destroyed an expensive electronic module under my dashboard. I took the car to Safelite and was told they would diagnose this by squirting the windshield with a hose. This seemed like such a pathetic approach that I left without attempting it (I'm sure that if water had been pouring through a large gap, this would have worked but that was not the case.) Mike spent a half hour pulling the seal out and pressure testing them to locate the leak. He found a clip that had not been installed properly, applied sealer, and re-installed the seal. I was very impressed with this approach since I think it was thorough and methodical. I am pleased that he did not attempt to replace the windshield or the seal since I think those larger steps would only be necessary if a simple (but thorough) fix does not work. If you are seeking an honest and competent repair on your vehicle, I cannot speak highly enough of this facility and of Mike. read more

First review ever because good service shouldn't go unnoticed. Had my cracked windshield replaced today in a desperate scramble to pass safety inspection. Not only did they fit me in between appointments when they were completely booked but they also saved the day when I told them to order the unheated windsheid. Turns out my windshield is heated (never knew it!) and I was lucky enough that they had one on hand for a customer coming next week. They were able to give me that one and order another for that customer. Not only was the service itself super fast (done in 3 hours with no appointment) but everyone that I spoke with was so pleasant which I feel is so rare. I'm the typical windshield got cracked by a rock kind of person searching the internet looking for a place to take my Jeep. I got prices from the well known national chains and stumbled on Windshield City. I got a quote from Mike on the phone. The price was better than the national chains and I ordered the windshield. Mike called me when he received it and I took the Jeep in the next morning. A favorite show of mine is "How Do They Do That?" and I'm fascinated about how things work. Mike pointed me toward the nearest coffee shop when I arrived, but I asked if I could stay and watch. My experience is the price usually goes up 10% at this point :), but Mike said yeh sure. As I watched I couldn't resist asking a couple of questions (that's usually an additional +10% in price :)) and his staff patiently answered all my, "How do you do that queries." The job was finished at the quoted price and in the time Mike said. I've had the windshield about a month through rain, snow and some nasty weather. Nary a leak anywhere.
