    Don't let anyone tell you it's easy to find quality service in Northern Virginia. 'Tis not. Not if you didn't grow up here. Not if you aren't an established local. Not if you don't know people who know people. So many options, so many of them disappointments, and all for the same hefty price!  Which is why finding Auto Glass Express a few years ago, and having called on them again last week with another cracked windshield, felt like a sigh of relief. So straightforward, affordable, on-the-ball. So courteous (watched the front office fellow deftly maneuver a demanding pompous jerk and demanding pompous jerk miraculously left satisfied) and so professional.  But honestly, I'm submitting this review for Chiko. Adorable shop dog begging for belly rubs, keeping me company while I wait? Yes please! Forever that, please!

    Tool to remove un-damaged windshield for re-install.

    So I had another company (see other review) come out and try to fix my windshield 4 times and the last time they just gave up and said my car was junk. LOL I found Auto Glass Express (AGE) on Yelp and read some good reviews. I talked to them and told them my situation and they said they could help. My windshield was in perfect condition but the previous windshield company could not seal it. AGE said they can remove glass without breaking it and re-seal/install it which decreased the costs. They aren't "slow" but they do take their time to make sure install is perfect. They don't cut corners (like the other windshield place did) and are very professional. I would rather a company take their time rather than rushing to make a buck. It has rained several times since install and NO LEAKS!!!! I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

    Broken sunroof glass

    I was seeking a business that repair broken sunroof glass & came across Auto Glass Express. I called & was told to arrive at 1030am. I arrived at 1045am due to missing my exit. When I arrived, I was told that I had to come back at 1230 because there was only 1 technician due to the 2nd one calling out. Return at 1215, & it was still 1240ish before I was helped. It was the desk attendant (her name started with a P) that assessed the damage. While recommending to get a used sunroof glass, & the cost of labor, she also mentioned, "well there is another company that I could recommend you to because they cost less." I did not complain about the price at all, & kind of confused as to why I was being recommended elsewhere. She mentioned the technician placing a plastic covering over the broken glass, & I asked if the broken glass could be vacuumed out before covering it, & I was told "no". I just verbally agreed to a $600 invoice & being told "no" to vacuuming out broken glass in the sunroof area. I voiced my concerns about the quality of customer service, & she called the technician to ask about it. They were speaking in Spanish so I'm unsure of what was said, & he looks at me & says "$75" & I responded "to vacuum out some glass" & he said "yes" I laughed. He then asked for my keys to move my car, I asked if I could move it closer because I had not seen anyone sanitize their hands as they were going back & forth between multiple customer's vehicles. I wasn't pulling it in a bay because it was occupied, I was pulling behind that vehicle to get close to the shop vac, however, I was not paying $75 for 10 seconds of vacuuming. I also witnessed how they refused to give another customer his keys after he refused to pay for a damaged windshield that was installed (they offered a $30 discount on a $400 invoice). After questioning the $75 charge & hand hygiene practices, the technician told me "you can go" as he shewed me with hand gesture. I then asked the desk attendant for the manager's phone number, & the name of the other company that she was trying to recommend me to. She refused to give me the other company's info & stated "that is for customers only". As I was waiting for the manager's contact info, I made a few calls & found out that the technician on duty is actually the owner of the company. The technician was Santos Ortiz. Needless to say, I will not be spending my money with this company.

They said it would be about an hour and it was. I got the ceramic tint and it was astonishing how effective it was. My son got his car tinted and I drove over separately to the location so we could get lunch while we waited. Today the thermometer on my car read 100°. When I got into my untainted car, I felt every bit of the hundred degree heat. His car after the tint install was dramatically cooler. Their prices are competitive with other vendors I found, but I was thoroughly impressed with the workmanship. I see why this place has such high ratings. They do a fantastic job and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking to have window tint installed on their vehicle.

Erik, the owner, was quick at responding and easy to talk and coordinate with. The date I ended up picking was about 2.5 weeks from when I first reached out which was good with me. I showed up day of to select the tint that I wanted, dropped my car off, and was told it'd be ready for pickup in an hour. The quality of the tint was top notch, and I've had zero issues with it warping, discoloring, or peeling a month later. It reduces the interior temperature of my car during these hot days. Overall easy, efficiency, and high quality.

Unfortunately, my experience at the original location was very disappointing. After the installation, my vehicle's safety features were not functioning properly, and it became clear that the windshield would need to be replaced again. What concerned me most was not just the installation issue, but the way my concerns were handled. Instead of feeling that my safety concerns were taken seriously, I experienced what I felt was dismissive and argumentative customer service. As a paying customer, I expected professionalism, respect, and accountability. Before writing this review, I also noticed that several other customers had described similar experiences at this location, which made my situation even more concerning. Because I no longer felt comfortable returning to that shop, I rescheduled my replacement appointment at the Woodbridge Safelite location. I am hopeful that the technicians there will provide the level of workmanship and customer service that Safelite is known for. I appreciate Safelite's willingness to address my concerns and hope this feedback helps improve the customer experience. My expectation is simple: a safe installation, respectful communication, and quality service that matches the price customers pay.
