We visited today for the Mother's Day Queen's Tea. I called to make a reservation 2 months in advance since they book up so quickly. In general, reservations are recommended as seating is limited, especially on weekends. When you arrive, you are presented with a prix-fix menu. On non-holidays, you usually have a choice between the soup or the salad of the day. You select your pot of tea from over 60 premium tea flavors. Today, I chose the "Paris" special tea, which had notes of vanilla, caramel, and bergamot. For the Mother's Day Queen's Tea, we had the broccoli and cheddar quiche, a pear, goat cheese, candied walnut, mixed green salad, scones, assorted mini sandwiches, and several mini desserts. Every course was fresh and excellent. The caramel scones are one of the best things I have ever eaten. They are served warm with clotted cream and lemon curd. The caramel is so goey and melts in your mouth. We brought some orange juice and prosecco to have mimosas with our tea. They have glassware in the back that you can request when making your reservation. The service is always top-notch. Holly is the best server! She is super sweet and always hardworking. At the entrance, there is a little gift shop with lots of cute vintage items, tea-themed trinkets, and some of the loose lea tea available in small bags. Sustenance was in order, and I wasn't looking for anything too heavy so this brunchy coffee spot seemed ideal - and it pretty much was. There was ample parking in the lot behind the building, but the place was pretty packed when I walked in. Even though I had to weave through a crowd to get to the counter, there wasn't an actual line and I was able to immediately order. Cute spot; looks like it's been fairly recently redone (last few years?) and I enjoyed the bathroom, which features very classy artwork of aristocratic felines on the walls. The soap dispenser is in a weird/awkward spot far to the left of the sink where it's almost impossible not to drip directly onto the floor, but at least they have one. I decided on the Protein Berry Crunch Toast and a slice of their Lemon Blueberry Loaf. Both were very tasty/hit the spot. I got the slice immediately upon ordering and considered getting a second one while I waited for the Toast. Cooler heads prevailed. It felt at least a little less naughty than that lemon loaf that Starbucks has, primarily because of the lack of icing (it has powdered sugar on top instead) and was moist; not too crumbly. The Toast came out probably in 10 minutes or so, which I think is perfectly acceptable given that it was clearly busy in there with both in-person and online orders. For the most part, I thought the combo of ingredients worked really well together; I was a little apprehensive about the cheese coming in, but it's pretty subtle and only dominant in a few random bites. I think the weakest part of the toast is the blueberries, but that's honestly more of a personal palate call than anything else - it just didn't totally mesh with the cheese for me and didn't have the vibrant taste of the other included fruits. But same token, part of the optics of this dish hinges on that blue. Everything is a balancing act. I'd totally get that again in a pinch, especially if I wasn't looking for a giant meal. The service/hospitality was very good, almost too good. After I finished my loaf, I left its wrapper and my number card (for them to locate me for the rest of my order) on the table while I used the restroom, and they were both picked up by an employee doing a sweep. That's arguably on me, who temporarily abandoned a table that looked like it had nothing but garbage on it. Even though it required 10 seconds worth of troubleshooting to get my number back, I don't know how you don't consider that a positive on the part of the staff. The same guy took my "real" garbage on my way out before I had a chance to bring it back inside. Very friendly, pleasant staff. Nice spot if you happen to be around. Will try to sample the coffee options on my next foray.

That is not the case here. The tea was your average tea that you would get at ShopRite. The tea breads were also from the bakery section of ShopRite and the cookies are from Pepperidge Farm. And the tea sandwiches are just two slices of wonder bread with a cream cheese mixture in the middle with the edges cut off and sliced into four pieces. Needless to say - nothing was homemade. So, we wandered in and the shopkeep started telling us about teas and she let me smell a green one. I asked if I could try it, she generously said yes, and that kicked off an unplanned tea ceremony. It started off with just my husband and I, but as other people came into the shop, the shopkeep invited them to join us at the table so by the end there was another couple, a woman, the shopkeep's husband and the shop's assistant hanging out together and drinking tea. We learned all about the villages where the teas came from, the differences between some of them, how old the teas are, how the shop came to be, even about the tea table we sat at. Super cool vibe, loved the coming together of strangers bonding for hours over a shared love of tea, but one that I'm not sure can be replicated because again, these tea tastings are meant to be booked ahead of time with your party, and are meant to be a paid service (though in Taiwan, tea tastings are free). We got lucky because the shop wasn't busy and people had cancelled their tea bookings due to an upcoming snow storm. I will most likely come back for more tea at some point. Even if a spontaneous tea ceremony never happens again, I count my blessings that such an experience even happened once, and would still recommend this shop to any Chinese tea lover.

We were aiming for a proper tea, so we did the Castle Collection and Teaberry's Sweets. Each gave us a pot of tea of our choice and an assortment of either little tea sandwiches or sweets. I didn't expect to but I left full! This was a fun way to pick, try a little of a lot of options and enjoy the tea as the main attraction. Highly recommend. It was such a nice visit and one I cannot wait to make again. From the sweet staff to adorable space and seriously impressive assortment of teas, Teaberry's did not skimp on a thing. You'll love it.
