My registration was due in 2 days (for the money saver option), and it was the first time my car needed pass a smog test since I bought it. When I had stopped by the auto shop close to my house, they told me they do not do smog tests however they usually send people to AA Smog. A customer who was in the auto shop waiting room told me "I always use AA Smog, they are the absolute best." In my head I was thinking "yeah ok, what can be so great about a smog test. Any smog place can smog a car." So, I thanked everyone for the suggestion and decided to head on down to AA Smog Test Only. It was a little difficult to find at first however once I was approaching the driveway they had a large easy to read sign with an arrow pointing where to go. Once I parked and made my way inside. There were a few people there waiting for their cars and I began to think "Uh oh, this place seems kind of busy." As I approached the front desk, I was greeted by a gentleman (I believe the owner) who was very friendly. He told me there was not an open spot for at least 2 hours. He said he might be able to fit me in sooner if I would like to wait. I told him unfortunately I had to go run some errands and asked if he might have any appointments later in the day. He said if I wanted to come back at 3, he could have me in and out. So, I booked the appointment and went about my day. So, I was done with all my errands plus it was over 100 degrees outside, so I was just done with wanting to do anything else. As I pulled in it looked like there would be no wait. I parked my car and went inside at about 2:45. The man again greeted me and asked for my keys. He then proceeded to go get my car started. The waiting room wasn't very big however it was comfortable. He had a little window AC going so the room was very nice and cool (temperature wise). He even had a small area for kids. It wasn't much but I would LOVE it if my kids were younger and I brought them. I hardly had time to really check everything out before the man came in and told me he was all done and that I was good to go. I was impressed at how fast (maybe 15-20 minutes) the process. The total for what I paid was $75 which I'm not sure is normal pricing. I believe I have seen some of those coupons you get in the mail for $5-$10 off. I was happy to pay it with how fast he got me in and out. Sorry for such a lengthy but I would highly recommend this business. Great owner, great service and you really are in and out.

7:30 am on a Thursday in Santa Rosa…read more.. My truck broke down on the way to make a delivery... AAA towed it (and me) to Coogler's on a recommendation from a friend who knows these guys. Stressed? You know it! Concerned about the work that would be done and how long it would take and what it would cost? Absolutely! Who isn't stressed out when their car breaks down, and they're going to a new auto mechanic??? Greeting me in the lobby were three of the nicest guys who just got into work and were in a better mood than I was... Things were looking up already... Jeff was my repair coordinator, and he immediately put me at ease and let me know that they would do everything they could to get me back up and running ASAP. I quickly booked a rental truck and Ubered to the rental location to get it and bring it back to swap the goods and get back on track. One of the technicians (Scott maybe?) helped me make the swap (above and beyond? Yup!) Quick communication on Coogler's part with some texts and emails told me they had found the problem and were on the case. Estimated time to repair? End of today or tomorrow at the latest. That's fast, I thought... Good news too because I've got more deliveries coming up. 'Tis the season... Fast forward ~4 hours and I'm getting a call from Jeff telling me my truck was ready to pick up (pun intended). What?!?!?! 4 hours and it's done!!! Got back to the rental shop, got one of their guys to take me back to Coogler's, and was back in my truck at 1:30 pm. Since then, a couple of genuinely concerned calls and emails asking if everything is still going well with the truck. Normally, when I do business with someone, they only call to ask if we can do more business. This was actual follow-up and quite refreshing. Will I work with Coogler's again? You bet I will! And if you've been looking for a dependable auto mechanic who's going to do a good job of both fixing your car AND being pleasant to work with, you should too!

I believed, however, that the business would continue to treat me professionally with respect. I am saddened and baffled by some of the owner's comments to previous reviews. My car drives very well; the only outstanding issue, we believe, is that the hybrid battery is not fully charged. I consulted with my mechanic and we are going to go for a second opinion. The service was fast and the price was OK I guess. I'll see what another smog tech thinks.

I went in and spoke with the nice mechanic, who said that they do not work on my car, they only test it. I left my car and my daughter collected me. They called me and said my car passed. No funny business or over-charging. We will both save money here. I am a little mad that I paid so much the first time, for nothing extra. The first time Taylor talked to my wife inappropriately. His dad apologized and said he will have a talk with his son. We kept going to them because after they put the engine in the light kept coming on. We went and tried to go to a dealer and trade in the car. It came up with various codes. Plus we had additional work done that needed to be done. My wife was dealing with him because he is so rude I couldn't take it. Then my wife got on the phone with him and he yelled at her when she asked a question and cursed at her. We went to speak to his dad about it 30 min later. And he asked someone in his shop did Taylor curse at me. We didn't hear anyone on the phone. And he lied and said I have a customer right (30-45 min after the conversation) here that heard the entire thing. Which was a lie because I was on the phone. And when my wife approached Lucas the dad- her turned the whole thing on my wife. Said I have something with his son. And agreed that we were wasting their time every time we bring our car into them. Do not go to them. Then they kicked my wife out because she told Lucas how dare you treat your son to talk to women like that. Put didn't fully tighten everything like the battery battery which gave us more errors when we left our car when we left to go home.
