I had Marija, and I could tell that she takes massage seriously and works on her skills. She knows what she is doing and can tell what part of your body needs work and how to release the knots. She is very intuitive and knows just how much pressure to use when she is massaging you. She also has good customer service and communication, which unfortunately not all LMTs have. Let me also mention that I've been looking for a decent massage therapist in the St Louis/Belleville area for like 3 years since I was stationed here. I've tried like 10+ different places and they were honestly mediocre with the exception of like one other independent massage therapist, who I believe moved location. So I kept looking for someone local and found Holistic Massage and Reiki, and this place is a gem. I've had a lot of massages across the states for like 6 years so I am very aware of what constitutes a "good" massage. I feel like a lot of LMTs in the St Louis region got into the business because they thought it was easy money and all they have to do is go through a routine of "pawing" at people, and they have no intuition or deep knowledge of anatomy. Even a lot of LMTs and chains here with "good" reviews were mediocre because no offense but most clients in this area never had an actually good massage. So, understand my frustration. But then I find Marija and not only is she competent and know what she is doing, SHE IS ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD. I am not going to list all the mediocre places in the city and the other side of the river before I found her (since this review is for Holistic, not them) but seriously, don't even bother with the other places, just go to Marija.

I called a few weeks ago to schedule my appointment where they booked it for me. At that time, I provided my gift card info to them for booking purposes. After a lackluster massage I realize it was only 50 min and was a bit confused. I was then told at the front desk that the 60 min massage service is what was booked and that I'd need to pay out of pocket because the gift card needs to be used for the exact service rendered. Now why in the world would I pay for a 90 min massage gift card then only book a 60 min massage? Secondly, the appointment was booked over the phone by their staff who knew the gift card promo I was using. After further discussion at the front desk I was told they would "comp" the difference of the full price service today and "allow" me to use the gift card for the 60 min massage. I asked if I could have the 30 minutes added to my next appointment of which they refused. To try and have me pay MORE for a massage that was less than the package I paid for is crazy and terrible customer service. What a wonderful Mother's Day gift

In fact I stopped waisting my time looking for a good LMT. But I decided to give Masha Davis a try after reading her blog about how she got interested in pursuing her career as a LMT. The first time I went to see Masha she did an awesome job working out the kinks in my neck and shoulder . My massage was 90min for a very reasonable price . Not only was she very personable, but she is very caring and attentive and she makes sure you get every minute of your massage. And today I just had a 2 hour Aromatherapy massage today by Masha and it was amazing as the last time. Masha takes pride in giving the best massage to suit her clients needs. For example I had complained of a migrane and she focused massaging my neck, head, & shoulder area. Masha also shared some home remedies to help ease my migrane. I'm so glad I finally found a caring , and friendly LMT that gives you a massage every minute that you pay for and I'm thankful that my massage gets started on time every time:) I look forward to booking my next appointment real soon:)
