On 03/16/2024, I went to Windy City Auto Spa in Melrose Park for a quote on a full inside/out detail on my 2019 Mazda CX-3 that I had sold. I was provided a reasonably priced quote, and I agreed to drop my car off on 03/23/2024 for the service on 03/24/2024. I picked up my car in the afternoon of 03/24/2024 and took the car home to do a full inspection before delivering it to my buyer. After all, Issa (one of the owners) stated that the car would "look more than presentable" when it was done. Big mistake - I should have inspected it while I was still at the shop. On both 03/16 and 03/23, I specifically stated to both owners/managers (Ramiz and Issa) that I did not want Armor All or any similar product used on my car. On 03/23, Issa told me they use a water-based conditioner that was "nothing" like Armor All, so against my better judgment, I trusted him and agreed. Unfortunately, this "water-based" product was exactly like Armor All and was placed on every surface of the interior of my car -- was it really worth the $10.00 upsell, when I was already spending $325 for the full detail? To make matters worse, it was applied unevenly, so I had to go back and wipe every surface of the interior to even it out. On top of that, it was done carelessly, and there was product on my odometer panel, on dials, and the projection screen that pops out of the top of the dash when the car is turned on. On the exterior of the car, there were several black grease-like spots that I needed to clean off. And the spray used for the tire shine was splattered all over the black fenders and not wiped off, so I had oil spots that I needed to scrub off everywhere. Additionally, whatever cleaning product was used on the exterior of the car left a white crust on some of the exterior black surfaces - fenders, front bumper, etc., so I had to clean that off as well. Next, I went to inspect the trunk. I then realized my trunk's cargo mat was never cleaned. I lifted it up, and it was not vacuumed underneath. Is that not included in a full detail? I began inspecting the interior floor mats that were shoved in my trunk, and that's when I realized that the clip for my driver's side Weather Tech floor mat was missing. I immediately called Julio, the supervisor for the day, and let him know that my trunk was not clean and the clip for my floor mat was missing. He asked that I text him a picture of what it looked like. He apologized and offered me another car wash stating he doesn't usually work Saturday's and wasn't there when I dropped off my car (1. not sure when you work has to do with a subpar detail job, and 2. I would not want to go back there given this experience). About five minutes later, Julio texted me and said he had located the clip for the floor mat. I then turned around and came back to find that Julio was trying to give me the incorrect clip. It didn't even look the same, but clearly, it's a common occurrence at your shop because he had at least three different clips he tried to give me, none of which looked anything like the picture I sent. So, that was a complete waste of my time. On top of everything, Julio was incredibly defensive and hostile in his responses - completely unprofessional. He would not take accountability for the business he was in charge of for the day. It's clear that he did not inspect the work that was completed on the car. I would've expected way more, and the customer service was pathetic. If you're in charge for the day, you need to troubleshoot with the customer. Julio is clearly not cut out for that role and has poor critical thinking and communication skills. He stated Issa would call me back the next day (Monday), which he did. I called back that same day during business hours and received no call back until Thursday 03/28/2024. The voicemail on Thursday stated he was "sorry it took him a day to call back." Last I checked, Monday and Thursday are not consecutive days. As one of the owners of the business, it was clear that Issa didn't care to promptly resolve the issues his business created or provide service recovery. I've gotten regular in/out car washes that were better quality than what I received. Spending $415.00 (with a 20% cash tip and an absolutely ridiculous $10.00 credit card "convenience fee" that I was not informed about was completely out of line.) Had I been told about this ahead of time, I would've gladly brought cash. Overall, I had a terrible experience at Windy City Auto Spa in Melrose Park and do not recommend anyone go there. For a full detail, there was absolutely no detail orientation whatsoever. When I dropped off the car, I stated that I wasn't in a hurry to get it back. If there wasn't a competent person to complete or inspect the job, it should have waited. read more

This is one of the few hand car washes I have gone to that cleans the windows on each side consistently. Usually you go to a place and they have a person on each side performing the drying and such and usually I can see who did the better job. This place is always consistent in the washing and the drying. I like that they use the pressurize air to remove the excess water in the cracks and crevices before the final drying. That always pisses me off driving away from some places to see that shine messed up from water flying out of the side mirrors or the sunroof. The times I have been there, I have had wait a bit because even though the car was done, there is almost always one guy that lingers to do the final checks and wipes. Be prepared on a good day to wait as the lines can get long there. And be prepared to wait a bit if there is a van or truck in front of you...they do just as thorough a job on them as the cars. So disappointed. I just left this car wash and I had high hopes since it's always busy. I'd say it'll be my last time coming here. Tuesday afternoon and not busy at all. The staff seemed to know what they are doing but just didn't get it right. I know there's a lot of other hand wash centers in the area so I will not hesitate in heading elsewhere. I paid for the deluxe wash which includes in and out services. Well they sort of executed the out part. But the in part not in anyway. They left the cup holders dirty and sticky which is bad because I even removed my cups so they wouldn't miss it. Second the dashboard couldn't be more dusty. I know I shouldn't keep a dusty dashboard hence the reason I came to wash my car. I think I could've done a better job myself. The outside is clean but not what you would expect from a hand wash. After they called me to get my car I noticed there was still dirt on top of the car. I mean the guy was nice to wipe it off but it shouldn't be my job to tell them what they missed. Otherwise I look like I'm needy. I'm just so disappointed at this place. I gave them two stars because the idea is there behind the business. First time going there, I was disappointed by what was supposed to be a 3 stage paint correction, and ended up with a polish and wax. When the waxes faded, I was surprised to see the swirl marks reappear within 2 weeks. After expressing my disappointment, Rob (co-owner) contacted me to correct the issue. He did admit that it wasn't to proper standards of services that I paid to have done and he personally corrected the issue. This, to me, shows his care for his business and the satisfaction of his customers. Businesses that do not care will brush this under the rug and high five each other for undeserved dollar earned. Rob explained what was being redone and best ways to upkeep it in the future. Nearly all of the swirl marks are gone and some scratch marks are gone as well. The 10 year old car looks brand new. If you need anything more technical than basic wash,polish, and wax, ask for Rob. I don't think his partner knows as much. read more

Just got my suv detailed and they did such an outstanding job! Whenever i drove past, i always noticed long lines which kinda meant they do good a job so i wanted to try them myself. With 3 kids, you can imagine how dirty it can get. All the crayon markings on the seats, doors and the ceiling were removed. The carpets were shampooed. No more musty milk scents. The engine was pressure washed and the exterior was buffed and waxed. Needless to say, my baby looks brand new and like I just pulled out of the car lot the day I purchased it. Not very thrilled about this Windy City Auto Spa. The young lady at the front was helpful but only after it took 15 minutes of me getting help from anyone. I knew I wanted just a wash on the outside and to wipe down everything on this inside and to clean my mats. So I got the deluxe car wash and there was nothing deluxe about it. It took almost an hour for a half-assed job. A week before I got my car washed, I had some melted ice cream on my cup holder and they didn't even wipe the inside of it at all. (shown in picture). Dropped off my suv earlier today for a full interior and basic wash. Included shampooing of carpets and seats as well as cleaning the windows, dash all portions of the interior of the vehicle. Was quoted about 3-4 hours with a price of $160. It was ready in about 5 hours as if you've ever driven by it is quite busy all the time which I understand it can be hard to judge time frames especially when cleaning the entirety of the interior of a vehicle. Only issue was some water marks left on the front passenger seat but it is very minimal and kind of hard to get out with cloth seats like my vehicle has, still wish it could've been prevented with the amount of time my vehicle was there but on a bright note e dry thing else is spotless and the inside of my car smells great, still pretty pricey I feel even for an suv, in conclusion still a much better job than I could've done read more

Been going here for a few years,never 100% satisfied, but overall ok. Not today though. Paid for platinum cleaning in my Jeep. It was dusty inside, but I'm sure they've seen worse. I ended up spending an hour cleaning all the spots the missed when I got home, including 4 spots on the outside that I was able to rub off myself with a touch of elbow grease. Interior it was obvious they just flipped the seats up to hide the dirt the didn't blow out or vacuum up. Maybe my standards are too high, but I was not happy. I'm in town for the weekend visiting a friend and he let me use his car for the day while he was at work, so I wanted to do something nice for him and get his car cleaned and detailed. Let me start by saying that this is the only place I feel comfortable taking my car to get a wash. I have tried many washes Including: gas station washes, touch less car washes, and even other hand car washes but this is the only place that meets my expectations. I was first introduced to this place by my friend who tried this place over the summer. Every time I've been here I've gotten prompt and thorough service. Their prices are definitely on the higher side but you get what you pay for. My car is almost always spotless when they are done. The only thing I can say bad about them is they tend to miss some spots in the interior dash cleaning but they are quick to correct it if you let them know. I am not paying for a detail so I can overlook this especially since their deluxe wash takes care of most of the mess in and outside the car. A couple things I've noticed: If you come by during their off times, they will pay extra close attention to your car as they don't have to rush it along (not that they are ever bad about it but if you want extra attention it might be something you want to keep in mind). Also they have an early bird special which knocks out 5 dollars off the total cost so it might be beneficial to take advantage of that. They also support belly and provide good rewards if you plan on becoming a regular. To date I've gotten my Dad's 07 Lexus Gx470 detailed , my friends 04 Toyota camry detailed, several of our other cars washed, cleaned, and waxed as well as brought several of my friends here. They all expressed similar experiences. They also offer other automotive services but I cannot comment on those as I haven't used those services but if they give as much effort on those as they do their washes, you are in good hands. One of the most thorough hand car washes I've encountered in this area. We wash our cars a lot, at least twice per month so finding a good, affordable place was a very important thing for us. Windy City is quick, unless it's the weekend. Everyone goes to the car wash on weekends so expect the wait to be up to 45 minutes. On weekdays anywhere from 20-30mins but it's worth the bright,shiney car you'll drive off in. Customer service is just ok, nothing that wows me hence I took a star off for that. You will have the longest wait ever, they are so busy only because the location is too small for what they are trying to do. They have 1 entry. but have 3 lanes of cars inside and only 1 lane ( one car at a time ) to fully service. So its like there trying to fit more than they can really handle. I think they should bring it down to like 2 rows and concentrate on the front to speedy up the process so that people can come and go faster. I got the 20 car wash and even paid for the leather conditioner because they don't offer Armor-All for your leather seats which is disappointing. I came out and saw 2 of my rims were not cleaned, as well as the shine was not put on the outside of the tire. The interior dash was not done well. And the smell I selected that the girl in the front of the counter said was their best only lasted for 2hrs. ( smell was called " fresh and clean ") What a rip off!!!!! I waited for about 2hrs here to get my car cleaned on a Saturday. I almost nearly grabbed a towel and started drying my own car just to speed the process up. Car was in rough shape (interior). Had bad carpets and upholstery spots and had never been detailed. They did an amazing job! There were serious stains in the carpet from spills, kids, dogs, etc. Car looks brand new!! Very satisfied. $27 for a "premium" car wash...my thoughts are that covers wax, tire shine, vacuuming, a little air freshener and making sure all the road grime is off my car. When you see $27 as the charge for a car wash you expect a little more especially when they throw adjectives like premium in the pricing. I should've asked what it covers like most car washes they list out the services included they didn't. Very disappointed did a subpar job vacuuming. I pointed out there's some road grime left on the grill he's like "you should've told me. That's $4" I'm like I paid you $27! Well he says it's not covered. I came for a basic wash, was here almost an hour even though they only had 2 other customers and 4 employees. When I got my car back it had a thick layer of mud on the passenger side, and despite the fact that I saw them vacuuming, there were still leaves and dirt all over inside the car and stuck between the hood and windshield. I had to walk through dirty puddles to get to it to pick it up, so I actually tracked more mud into the car. I left with a dirtier car than I came with. After waiting for almost an hour!!! The location I was reviewing was definitely Melrose Park. I did not review the wrong location as the owner's response suggested. Wouldn't come back here again. Paid $30 for a hand car wash and they didn't even clean my cup holders or mirrors. They also don't spray with a complimentary scent like most full service car washes do. You can buy an air freshener for $1 but they don't take credit cards for less then a $10 purchase. Ironically I made a $30 purchase but because it had gone through already they would not let me charge the dollar for the air freshener. I would suggest placing a sign at the register for future patrons so they can purchase the air freshener at the same time they pay for the wash. The Auto Spa was quite busy for mid-day on a weekday. My visit lasted about 35 minutes and included an interior as well as exterior cleaning. My Jeep came out clean and dry and I was pleased enough with the dashboard wipe down. My only complaint is that the outside wash supposedly includes an undercarriage wash, but the service is really just a guy spraying up on the bottom of the car. I don't really feel like that is very sufficient considering the winter we had and how much salt is caked in there. I'll have to visit another car wash to actually clean the underside of the car. This is a little more expensive than some of the places I've visited in the city. I may come back after work sometime if I'm dirty enough. read more
