    Grapes!
    Erin B.

This place is beautiful countryside. The tour guide was knowledgable. The grapes are all grown at the winery to make the wine. That is what makes them an estate winery. We were provided with glasses to taste the wine. Some was too dry for me, but several were deliciously light and sweet. Come here and relax. It is a great way to spend some time on a beautiful day.

Wine with an amazing view? Yes please!…read more The Ridge Winery & Tasting Room knows how to make an afternoon of enjoying wine. I met my family there over the weekend for a fun lunch. The Ridge allows BYOFood, so we brought a spread. And then we bought wine from them. My favorite was the Blackberry Table Wine, which was sweet but balanced. We took over a table on the large patio that overlooks the Ohio River. And man, what a view. There was slight breeze and ample room for everyone to sit, while being socially distant. We watched barges slowly make their way down the river while we chatted and drank. And then inside, The Ridge has a small but fun gift shop. My mom and aunt bought a cheeky glass and T-shirt. The Ridge also offers tastings in case you want to try several fruit wines. I've had better wine in Kentucky/Indiana, but The Ridge's wine plus view and overall atmosphere makes this a must-visit.

I loved every wine I tried and brought several bottles home (which were consumed within a week or so). The tasting room is connected to a couple's home but it isn't weird at all (b/c I thought it would be!) It was so enjoyable to taste the wine, chat with the owners (who were hilarious and in love), then buy our glasses of wine to relax on the deck for girl talk and river views. I look forward to coming back and hope to bring my husband for a relaxing afternoon!

First things first, we (4 of us) put our names on the tea room waiting list. Then we shopped for our gardens. I'd selected the plants I wanted to buy, and then it was time for lunch. Our name was next on the list. We stood waiting for the hostess when a pushy woman and two men climbed onto the porch in front of us. The woman insisted on being seated. The hostess explained that the kitchen was backed up and she couldn't seat them. Said woman loudly insisted that they 'only wanted to sit and they wouldn't be ordering anything'. A manager came out and the old woman tried to establish that a relationship existed with her and the owner. She insisted again that they be seated. They were, and immediately got wine, silverware and menus. All of this in front of us, the party that was standing waiting. At that point we said we were next on the list, but since they had not only been seated, but served before us we would leave without eating and without buying the plants we'd come to purchase. The kicker is that there were MANY seating choices outside in the shade that these people should have been directed to rather than being seated in front of us. And we left - never to return. We didn't even get an "I'm sorry." Addendum, all was not lost. We drove to a new-to-us restaurant in Seymour IN, and had great service and great food for much less than this would have cost! Addendum 2: to the person who responded to this review yesterday, thank you. I can't find your response now, but I appreciate your comments and that you took the time to explain the situation.

There were a few parking spaces open and we were able to get one. The resturant seemed pretty busy so we decided to go flower shopping before we ate lunch. We were able to find all the flowers we wanted (even some we didn't know we needed). Within 30minutes the crowd had cleared from the restaurant and we were able to sit down on the porch out front. Our waitress was friendly and tentative. We ordered their fresh ginger lemonade which was so refreshing. We also ordered the trio plate with 1 bird seed salad, 1 potato salad, and 1 chicken salad. The bird seed was my favorite! The restrooms were clean and spacious. The property itself is so beautiful. It is a great place to relax and enjoy sometime outside!

We felt more like we were driving to a personal residence rather than a business. Once we arrived at the Winery, we understood the feeling. Although the place is a business, visitors are made to feel like family. Elaine (I think that was her name) detailed their wine-making process as she took us on the tour. We were impressed that they do EVERYTHING to recycle and have a positive impact on the environment. It was a great experience visiting this winery Their wines were flavorful and reasonably- priced. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit and will tell others about it.

The owners live on the property and are originally from Europe. All bottles are: $15 Full tasting: $6 Half tasting: $3 We went on a cold day, but the patio overlooking the property is certainly ideal for a sunny Saturday afternoon. Also on this property: farm animals. Including lama's, sheep, sheep dogs etc. It kind of caught us off guard at first, but was fun to see. Worth stopping in!

Simply put, Huber's is a machine, a well-oiled machine…read more My wife grew up visiting Huber's several times a year for Christmas trees, pumpkins, fresh produce, and just about everything else the farm has to offer. When she moved me up here many years ago, one of the first places she took me was Huber's. We've been back countless times over the years, and it never disappoints. Our latest visit included my nephew, his new wife, my niece, and her 10-year-old son. My niece-in-law is from New York City and had never experienced life on a farm. (Last year, we took her to pet a horse for the first time!) So when she wanted to go peach and apple picking, Huber's was the obvious choice. Let's just say she and my 10-year-old great-nephew absolutely loved riding the trams and picking fresh fruit. My nephew and niece enjoyed themselves too, even though they both grew up on a farm in Georgia. My wife and I took a more relaxing approach, sampling some of Huber's excellent adult beverage offerings while enjoying the live band. It was the perfect way to spend an afternoon. All in all, Huber's once again lived up to its reputation as one of the best family destinations around. It offers something for everyone, whether you're looking for fresh produce, family activities, live music, or a great place to unwind. I normally end my reviews by saying, "I'll be back." With Huber's, it's never a question of if--only when. Halloween is just around the corner, and we'll be looking for pumpkins.

I use to take my daughter there for the horseback riding and the petting zoo ! 15 plus years ago ONE OF HER FAVORITES WAS WALKING OVER TO THEIR CHEESE AND ICE CREAM FACTORY IT HAS CHANGED UNFORTUNATELY She loved watching through a glass window and see them making cheese and ice cream! That was one of her favorites their ice cream back then had more taste the ice cream they THEY HAVE NOW you can't taste any flavor in the ice cream ITS SO BLAND i bought the homemade peach ice cream it tasted like plain vanilla ice cream NO PEACH TASTE what so ever I swapped it out for salted Carmel I could not taste the salted Carmel at all I might as well just ordered vanilla. They also had more flavors back then! The quality of their ice cream has gone way down VERY LITTLE CHEESE SELECTION not a big fan of that change !
