It was already a very hot day in Tarpon, at the Sponge Docks... then the rain came pouring down. Good thing I had already tucked in here to check out a) the menu, b) the fun merch, c) the bottles for saleand d) the ac. I went from happily browsing (and finding fun gift items for friends)... to delightedly sipping at the bar. That's where I learned you can do free tastings. Oh yes, that's got "Jen on a Saturday" written all over it. I told the super friendly and fun owner what I like (Pinot Grigio) and she found three amazing chilled whites for me to try. Two were really good... one was full out fabulous. I ordered a glass.. the owner served up a great pour-and I sat there happily chatting with the folks around me-who were more into the social scene than their screens. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was such a fun place to perch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a nice selection of craft beers-some local. And I know they had big pretzels, for those weren't full of saganaki and salad like I was (that would be a fun band name-Saganaki and salad). [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are board games to play at the scattered tables and really good live music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] (it was mid-afternoon when I was there.) I wish I could have stayed longer, but I had another engagement to get to--and a short window between rains to get to my car-at the other end of Dodecanese--so I had to dash. It would be the perfect place to hang with friends. I'll rally the troops. This fun spot is located on the far end of the main drag... past the fudge shop-adjacent to the tea and flag shops-across from the mini light house and parking. The prices are very reasonable-selection is large and interesting-and the staff is very welcoming. I took home a bottle of my new favorite wine... and can't wait to come back ti taste and buy more. Some friends of mine were here from New York so we decided to visit Tarpon Springs one of the days. My favorite shops are in the plaza with the Wine at the Docks store so we started at that end and as we were leaving the Tea and Spice store, it started to pour. What better way to wait out the rain than to have a glass of sangria at Wine at the Docks? [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store has moved to the end of the plaza where the old aquarium used to be. The large pink building has a set of shops where Wine at the Docks is located. It's a quaint little place that houses many local flavors and it gives you a variety through a mini tasting tour as well. Since I did not have a lot of time, I could not take the tour so I grabbed a couple of bottles for the trip home. I like ALL wine so I didn't care what it tasted like. I just wanted something local from that region to commemorate my trip with friends back home. The ship's owner is a lovely and friendly person who welcomed me in with a small plastic cup to at least try one. I was so glad because it was the hurricane wineI brought home. Tarpon Springs is such a lovely place to visit with lots of history and local flare. I highly recommend checking out Wine at the Docks for a lovely sip and allow the locals to share stories with you. My boyfriend and I went out to Dunedin for an exploration date day and saw a sign for free wine tasting and went on it! They helped me find some reds I actually like which has been hard for me! One of the owners was there and it had small town vibes where people knew each other, yet fun for out of towners to explore too! The sangrias (the owner who wasn't there makes) will even have non-wine drinkers coming back for more! I was obsessed with the Sangrito (a sangria mojito!) so refreshing and yummy and not too sweet! I loved their license plate signs too, cool and unique! Would definitely stop there again when in Dunedin! read more

The selection was very good. They have something for everyone. I prefer sweet and they had several sangria to try. The owner was there and she was very friendly to talk to. I could have stayed and had several more glasses but the sangria is sneaky as by taste alone you wouldn't assume that it had much alcohol but three glasses in (one of each flavor) I had to take a break. You can't beat the views if you sit outside but getting to sit at the bar allowed us to really meet the staff. read more

She really knew the flavor profiles and made some great recommendations. They have some exotic and Florida specific wines, such as Key Limen, made only with limes, no grapes. Second time I've tried to come and look around at local wines and was highly disappointed by the worker. She was unpleasant and unfriendly and not even helpful. I work at a winery and therefore was curious as to some of the wines they had in the tarpon springs area, but barely could get an answer. I was looking to try some wines but was never asked or even wanting to ask if we could because I didn't want to deal with the worker. Disappointing. read more

Oh my gosh! Wine at the Docks is the best stop on Tarpon! Kathie and Char were the absolute sweetest, full of knowledge and more than helpful! They navigated me to the best wine choice for my taste buds, and did not leave me disappointed! And I hear they are on the list for some tours! So defiantly make them your next stop! read more

This store is located along a Tarpon Springs street full of activities. It's attached to a bar as well, which makes it even cooler. They sell all things wine including lot of different Greek wines. They do wine tastings as well. Added to all the different wine options and wine accessories is a very friendly and helpful staff. I really loved this place! read more

The wine bar is very pleasant, and a great place to relax while visiting the sponge docks. However, I was disappointed in the selection of wines at the wine bar. A disclaimer, I did not visit the wine shop to check out the selection there. The first glass of wine I was poured was bad, I could tell immediately by the color. The second glass was bad as well Obviously the bottles had been open a while and should not have been served. The bartender opened a new bottle, which was fine. I was a little disappointed in the temperature thought, I like my white wine quite chilled and I thought they were close to room temperature. Overall though I enjoyed the atmosphere and the wine I finally received. read more
