came here for lunch with my mom. it was an absolutely amazing meal!! our waiter was super friendly and kept our waters filled. our food took no time at all to arrive and everything was just delicious. i got the chicken & brie sandwich with a side of fruit and also ordered two oysters as well. my mother ordered the garden skillet with cheesy grits and the fried green tomatoes. the chicken & brie caught my eye due to the strawberry jam and apples and i am obsessed. it was so good! the fried green tomatoes were perfect, especially with the pico de gallo and the pimento cheese. the tomato slices were thick and definitely tasted fresh. the oysters tasted fresh, not old, and i loved the hot sauce that came with them. my coffee was definitely delicious as well, i added sugar free hazelnut syrup to it. my mom's garden skillet was really good too, i tried a bite. i absolutely love this place and look forward to coming back to try something new. read more

They have some really good goat cheese Balls that came with a berry compote sauce, I believe it changes now and then. The cauliflower is a 10/10. The deviled eggs without blue cheese are worth getting again. The nachos are a bit lackluster even with their salsas. The carnitas tacos are the same unfortunately. They also serve a really good Benedict with a choice of meat, the brisket is my choice which always comes with a generous amount given and very tender. The house potatoes are a must with it as well. The service is a hit and miss and can change the entire mood of the meal unless Constance is around. She is always smiles and makes the experience a great one. I've been here many times over the past 5 years. I have always enjoyed the ambience of the rustic farmhouse, five with the exposed piping and farm house doors. This restaurant has definitely evolved with rotating menu, but has now become a brush spot. The food has very good options for vegans, but has definitely changed and is missing the wow factor. I will still go back and give it a try. The service is always been excellent and I've never had an issue with their service. I ordered the Bistro Snack, Japanese Cauliflower, Wings, Deviled Eggs, Butcher Cut, and the Chef's Catch. Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. What really made the evening special was the service. Our waitress was absolutely amazing, attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect. Not sure if the air wasn't working or if it's typically warm in the place, but it was borderline unbearable to sit inside. Our waitress had zero personality and honestly felt like we were an inconvenience. I worked in the food service, so I get having off/bad days but the fact that I'm pointing it out means it was BAD. Food was good, hence the 3 stars, but overpriced. I got the breakfast skillet at $16+ with an overdone egg and way too many peppers. read more

Came after a recommendation from locals. Dined by myself outside. I was overlooked multiple times by staff and the service was slow. The wait staff wasn't very friendly. There was a large table of very loud women who made the ambiance less than relaxing. Especially since they had to play videos VERY loud on their phones. I ordered the brisket sandwich but the chef was too lazy to shred it and instead put a large slab (about an inch) thick on the bread. It was difficult to eat and given it wasn't a great cut of meat it really distracted from what could have been a good a sandwich. I wont make this a spot to recommend. read more

Let's start with the atmosphere. This restaurant was simply immaculate. Was created immediately upon entering, and was seated in a cozy but out in the open spot. The server was really helpful and a delight, although I think it was either her first day or she was new. She had help which was fine, because she had it covered. Now let talk about the delectability; if I can create words, that was the food. First off, those BISCUITS were so soft and airy, yet had a subtle crispy crunch on the outside. I could have eaten a bakers dozen I'm sure. The French Toast was so comforting and so were the grits. It was cold outside and those two really hit a spot. The bacon was cooked to perfection, and the omelet coupled with the grits, were, ummm... yeah. Might I say heavenly. Simply amazing. I've eaten here several times. Tuesdays they have an oyster special. I've always received great service, and it's always been clean. It can be a little loud when it's full, but it's people having a good time. Their lobster roll is worth every cent, and yes it's expensive, but getting a great lobster roll in Tennessee is going to cost you. It's a 10 out of 10! You only go around once in this ole world, so make your life choices count. Eat the expensive dish, allow yourself to enjoy this life. I had the spaghetti squash carbonara. The squash was mushy and sitting in a mass of scrambled eggs. The whole thing was sour with pieces of pre cooked bacon on top. The whole thing was inedible. Wine Down was one of our go-to's for a nicer family dinner, so I was excited to take my mom, who is visiting from out of town. Everything started out fine. The 20-something server kept calling my almost 80-year-old mom "baby," but we overlooked that because she was otherwise friendly and attentive. Then the dessert came and she ghosted us. For over 20 minutes I watched as she chatted with guys in the kitchen and just sort of hung out while we sat there, ignored. She dropped off one more item at a nearby table, clearly avoiding us. My mom waved her down so she would bring our check but she sent somebody else over...then we waited for another 10 to 15 minutes, again ignored. I approached the bar area, where the waitress was now standing wearing her coat, and said that we had been waiting awhile to pay. A manager came over to wrap up the check, and when I told her that I felt that we were being ignored, and that the server never told us that she was ending her shift, she said, "We don't do that here, we team serve." She reluctantly adjusted our check for a mysterious extra charge, which she blamed us for. She got increasingly snarky and weird, laughing at us. The way we were treated made me feel so gross. Until they do a complete overhaul of their treatment of customers, I can't in good conscience recommend Wine Down to anybody. Good food, shockingly AWFUL, awful service. read more

We had to get up and ask her for coffee and hot sauce. Maybe supper service is better but I won't be back to find out. My husband and I went for happy hour last night and had the worst experience. We have always loved and supported Wine Down but after yesterday that changed. The service was horrible, we had to wave someone down to order our food and apps. Then no one served us the rest of the time. We had to go to the bar to get our receipt to check out. There were plenty of servers playing behind the bar and the restaurant was not busy at all. So disappointed as we love to support our local businesses. My husband and I wanted to get out with our 4 week old baby for our first wedding anniversary. It was a gorgeous day and we wanted to sit somewhere outside for happy hour. The patio was shaded and perfect. We ordered off the happy hour menu; oysters, bistro wings, sliders, the bistro board and truffle fries. Everything was DELISH! My husband recommends getting the hot sauce with the oysters-he is still talking about them! OK started coming here on Mondays with a friend for Happy Hour. They have a pretty good collection of draft beer as well as bottled beer. Parking is easy sinc it is in Cambridge Square and it has a cozy small atmosphere. Great deal on burgers and sliders. Salads are good also. Fries are great and food so far has been top notch. Besides the great food from the kitchen, the service is always friendly and top notch. When I try food other than burgers and fries, will let you know... . right now it is a 5+!!! read more

Our server Brooklyn was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and provided great recommendations on appetizer, food and drink options. Her recommendations were spot on. We had the Japanese cauliflower which was over the top. It was super crispy on the outside and the combination of flavors from the sauces and the fried onions on top were so tasty. We also ordered the Brisket nachos which were crazy good also. Loaded with brisket and Cojita cheese along with other toppings on top of homemade corn tortilla chips made it over the top. And not that we were hungry but we also ordered cheese and charcuterie board which came with grilled bread, pickled red onions, apple butter, whole grain mustard, strawberry jam and picked red peppers. Based on Brooklyn's recommendation, we chose the sage cheddar which was as incredible. We also picked the pimento cheese, the bentos ham and the waygu braciola. All were phenomenal. This place is awesome!! It's in the cutest shopping plaza with restaurants and boutiques. They have a great happy hour, $10 off bottles of wine and on Tuesdays, bottles are half priced. They have a rotating catch of the day, chefs board, dips and wines on tap. On top of that, they have a full food menu with over 30 items. It's rare to find a wine bar that has such a large food variety. For being a first time guest, we received a free half order of fried goat cheese balls with the pumpkin butter and they were amazing. We ordered the tzatziki dip, Japanese cauliflower and the truffle fries and we loved all of them. The tzatziki dip was on special so I highly recommend trying it before they rotate it out! Our waitress was very friendly and made great recommendations. She recommended the Fiction Red Blend wine to us and even let us taste it first. We ended up ordering a bottle of it because it was so good. Would definitely go back to get out more wines and foods. read more

We love Wine Down. Seems like anytime we get time for a date, that's where we decide to go. They have the best shrimp and grits I have ever eaten, EVER. Last night I had the salmon, which was the catch of the day. THANK YOU for cooking it perfectly. I feel very relaxed there, but the food is always special. Even the hummus and crostinis were great. Never eaten anything there that I didn't just love. And it's convenient and our waitress Shelba was knowledgeable and engaging. It was fine dining at a reasonable price.
